Chapter 5
Emily's POV
It was around lunch the same day and as normal Michael, Calum and I sat together at our small lunch table. I had a slice of cheese pizza in front of me along with a water bottle, only eating this because Calum had already eaten my cookie.
"But I wanted it!" I whined, grabbing his shoulders and shaking them slightly.
He laughed placing his hands on my shoulders shaking them slightly bringing our faces closer together. I giggled leaning my head on his looking up through my eyelashes. Michael groaned from across from us making a fake gagging noise.
"Just date already." He said jokingly turning away from us. Cal laughed and puckered his lips jokingly leaning to kiss me, and I squealed leaning away from him,
"Noooo." I cried out moving my hands from his shoulder and placing them on his face pushing him away.
Calum leaned away pouting for a second before laughing with Michael and I. There was never a dull moment with us.
I was still laughing when Michael suddenly stopped, looking over I saw him staring at Ashton storming out of the cafeteria and his friends Luke chasing after him.
"Leave Emily alone, it's her business." Was all I heard Luke say as he stormed after ashton.
A couple other girls with my name turned around probably concerned with hearing their name being shouted. But I had this feeling that he was talking about me, because I was the only Emily ashton had recently talked to.
"I wouldn't be surprised if that was you, he was staring strangely at you and Calum yesterday." Michael piped popping a chip into his mouth.
I gave Michael a look before grabbing his arm and dragging him out of the cafeteria with me, leaving Calum alone at the table undoubtedly eating my food.
"You didn't bother telling me this, why?" I whispered harshly at Michael as we hurriedly followed after Luke's loud and rushed footsteps. I picked up the pace once I heard the footsteps become more frantic and seem like they were running, dragging Michael with me.
Soon we reached the place Luke and Ashton had run off to hiding behind a corner intently listening in.
"I can't believe she's dating that piece of shit."
"You don't know that ash."
"Didn't you see them getting a cozy with each other." Ashton kind of yelled.
"Dude, why are so upset, it's just a stupid girl?!?" Luke said to Ashton.
"I - I don't know," ashton sighed," She makes me feel weird."
Luke laughed but quickly shut up once we heard a light slapping sound.
"It's not funny." Ashton whined.
"But it is seeing as how it's just Emily," Luke said," and Emily Baker too, she's nothing special."
"Yeah but she makes me feel special." Ashton yelled stomping his foot.
"I don't know why she makes you feel special, she's a nobody, if it was Emily Mason it would be a different story because, damn, have you seen the rack on that one." Luke said giving ashton a suggestive laugh.
"Stop that! You always do this, act like a girl is some object you can oogle from afar." Ashton sneered.
"Sorry man, I didn't know she was so important to you." Luke said a sense of hurt in his voice causing Ashton to sigh.
"You know what, forget this, she's not even important. Just a stupid girl right." Luke laughed and said something else but I didn't hear it, I had already stomped off, feeling offended and hurt.
See if I'll tutor him
"Jackass." I angrily mumbled, wiping a stray tear that fell down my cheek.
Michael's POV
I stood shocked staring at where Emily had stormed off and glanced back at where Luke and Ashton were still standing. Both of them were still laughing at something one of them said but I couldn't care less.
I stomped over to where they were standing, their laughter immediately ceasing when they saw me. I shook my head at the two of them first looking at Luke who had a horrified expression on his face.
"So you like girls now, I guess you can keep our stinking two year anniversary gift." I yelled at him, pursing my lips when Ashton stared shocked at him. I didn't realize why Luke had wanted to keep us a secret for so long, but now I knew. He wasn't out of the closet, to neither his friend, or family.
"And you, you, you..." I stumbled over my words being so angry." Jerk, what's it to you that she's dating my best friend, and she's the farther thing from 'just a stupid girl' you'll find in this whole entire school." I huffed before stepping on Ashton's foot in anger.
"Goodbye!" I said turning on my heel and shuffling away, "and we're through Luke." I yelled.
"Babe, babe!"
I heard Luke calling after me but I just ignored him and walked faster, trying hard to fight the hot, angry tears.
