Chapter 3

[a/n: so this has 40 reads, and 8 votes. I can't believe I started this just a few days ago. Thanks so much!!!]

Emily's POV

Ashton just left after hurrying to class and I stood there in the library mouth hung open. He just hugged me. A pretty attractive person just hugged me. Que pasa. I blinked a couple times, going over our session in my head. I never knew he could be so deep.

You only just met him today, of course you didn't know

I just rolled my eyes before heading to my next and last class, Mathematics. I walked through the door, saying a quick hello to Mrs.Moreno.

"Today we will be doing a re-cap on trigonometry." She started once everyone was seated.

I looked at Mrs.Moreno, taking down notes as she went over the basic acronyms; SOH CAH TOA. But after a while I zoned out thinking about my conversation with Ashton again.

My dad was fine, if you considered pretending to mourn over your wife's death while spending the insurance money fine. I hate the way it seems like he doesn't care that my mum is gone. In a sick way, he seems happier and I can't help but hate it. His newfound happiness is coming from all the wrong places.

I shook my head, clearing my head of my thoughts, earning a stern look from Mrs.Moreno.

"Would you like to add something to the lesson Ms.Baker?" She questioned me. I looked up to the board to see we had moved on to parabolas.

"Actually, I do, parabolas are supposed to be X squared, not X to the third power." She rolled her eyes before fixing her mistake and resuming class.

I turned around to look at Mikey, not surprised to see a smirk on his face.

"The sass is real." He said before giving me a high five. I snickered quietly before turning around and focusing on the lesson.

-

As soon as the bell rung I bolted out of class, eager to get out of the room. Mrs.Moreno sure can scare the crap out of children for a fifty seven year old woman.

Soon after I exited school building, Michael and Calum appeared next to bothering me with stupid questions that I ignored.

"How was tutoring?"

Fine

"What's he like?"

Nice

"Do you get paid."

I wish

"What did you guys do?"

Study and talk

"Did you guys do the nasty?"

What the hell Calum

"Yeah, did you?"

Shut up

"Is he...

"Shut the hell up Calum." I said with a raised voice. My eyes were wide, and my mouth slightly parted.

The guys just laughed at my alarmed and annoyed state. I slapped the back of both of their heads before continuing my walk home. They rubbed their heads, muttering something about being to aggressive, or sassy.

"Tell that to the damn flower crown on my head." I huffed walking faster trying to lose the two. But my efforts were useless when Michael showed up on my left side and Calum threw me over his shoulder, causing me to let out a squeal. I laughed shaking my head as Calum spins us around in circles, him and Michael letting out chuckles too.

As I laughed, my eyes crinkled at the sides and I thought,

I love these guys

Ashton's POV

I was walking home when I heard loud laughter coming from across the street. I looked over, letting my curiosity get the best of me to see a group of three teenagers seeming to have fun. I looked closer and my eyes widened when I realized Emily was one of them.

I guess she wasn't lying when she said she hung out with her friends, but they seemed much closer than friends. I looked away when the guy with darker skin threw her over his shoulder. I flinched when I heard her laugh loudly. He was defiantly her boyfriend.

But why does it matter?

I let out a big exhale, and kept walking to my house, refusing to answer my own question. If shouldn't matter anyway, I wasn't even friends with Emily. To her I'm just her student.

When I reached home I was greeted by the smell of freshly baked cookies, and my mothers soft singing.

"Hi mum." I greeted, giving her a light hug, reaching behind to grab a cookie off the baking sheet.

She just smiled before getting back yo putting another batch in the oven.

"Aren't your football friends coming over today?" She asks tilting her head to the side leaning her back on the island.

I made a face hinting to her that I forgot before running upstairs to drop my stuff. Once my books were placed on my desk I changed into something more comfortable for practice. Once I was done I grabbed my phone, checking the time before heading downstairs to open the door.

The doorbell kept ringing even though I kept yelling that I was coming. When I swung the door open, Luke stood there smirking while the other guys stood behind him chatting away. I rolled my eyes before ushering them inside and into the kitchen because I knew they hadn't eaten anything.

"Help yourselves." I said sitting down, waving my hands around the room. There were a few cheers and a couple 'no thanks' around the room. After about twenty minutes the guys had finished and we headed to my fairly large backyard.

There were already small goal posts set up and footballs laid out from former practices. We started with warm ups, passing the ball to each other, dribbling around cones, and juggling. Afterwards we played a heated scrimmage before saying our goodbyes to each other.

It was around ten o'clock when I was finished with my studying that Emily convinced me to do. I lay on my bed thinking about today's events. Luke and the guys teased me about spending forty five minutes with, in their words, 'a freak'. I didn't bother defending Emily knowing that I would have just been teased more. In my head, I met a pretty girl. A pretty girl who has a boyfriend.

Wonderful

So this chapter was pretty cute, but I literally pulled this out of my ass.

Once I get on a laptop this chapter is dedicated to @OneSecondofSummer cause of her comments.
