The next morning at breakfast, Tsuna noticed that everyone in his class had eyebags under their eyes as they just played around with the food, having no apatite.
'Well, I guess the news that we're all mafia shocked them too much.' Tsuna thought as he calmly ate his food. 'I can't blame them, though. I also reacted like that, maybe a bit more dramatic.'
Tsuna chuckled a little as he remembered his early days with Reborn, getting some weird glances. He realized what he did and a frown was placed on his lips. What was wrong with him today? He seems to be more...crazy and his brain seems to not function properly right now. After all, why is he considering his early days with Reborn, that spartan, fun? Was it because of what happened yesterday night regarding Akuro? That might be it as he never really faced death in the face (besides the guy who pretended to die, Mukuro and Byakuran but, well, they're now alive so...yeah).
"Ahem." Nono fake coughed, gaining the attention of the students. "Because the ceremony is close, there will be no more classes. Instead, you are given the last few days as your free day. You can do whatever you want and go wherever you want, although do bring a guard to keep you safe."
"Yes." the students replied dully, glancing at each other. Silence prevailed over the dining room again and, before it ended, someone knocked on the door thrice.
"Come in." Nono said while looking at the door. The door opened and revealed a butler.
"The teacher of the class has came back, Nono-sama." he announced which caused Nono to nod.
"Thank you, Cale. Has he eaten, yet?" Nono asked.
"Yes, sir." Cale responded. "He is now in his room awaiting for further instructions as to what to do today."
"Tell him that the today and tomorrow is their free day as to prepare themselves for the upcoming ceremony." Nono ordered in which Cale nod respectfully before leaving.
After a few more minutes of silence, everyone finally finished eating and left to their own devices, leaving the Vongola and Shimon in the room.
"Well...that was awkward." Enma said once everyone left.
"Yeah, did you see their eyebags?" G said in a board tone. "They probably got scared."
"I feel bad for them, though." Asari mentioned. "They came here with the mindset of having the best days of their life but ended up probably being the worst."
"Well, it's their fault for being cruel to another student." G said with a yawn. "Unlucky for them, said student is a soon-to-be mafia boss. The strongest one at that."
"Yeah..." some said while others just nod.
"Oh, we're done planning for the *****, Tsunayoshi-kun." Giotto said which caused Tsuna to smile at them thankfully.
"Thanks a lot, everyone." he said with gratefulness. "I was worried that we wouldn't finish on time."
"You shouldn't worry about that, Juudaime!" Gokudera said firmly. "We would have stayed up countless nights just to help you!"
"Thanks, Gokudera-kun." Tsuna told him which caused Gokudera to smile happily, some blinking and rubbing their eyes because they thought they saw a puppy ears and tail on him.
There was peaceful silence between all of them when Reborn decided to ruin it. He made Leon transform into the ten-ton hammer and hit Tsuna on the head. Tsuna, who was enjoying the rare peace, got hit and fell on the ground.
"Ouch, Reborn!" he complained, slightly rubbing his head where a bump was forming. "Why are you hitting me?!"
"Don't act like it hurts, dame-Tsuna." Reborn said. "I've hit you plenty of times in the past."
"Yeah," argued Tsuna. "when you were in a body of a child with no strength! You're now an adult with muscles!"
"How rude." Reborn said. "I had muscles when I was a child."
"That's logically and physically impossible!" Tsuna shouted. "And you can't say that it's a lie because you're the one who taught me the difference of a baby's body and an adult!"
"Tch." Reborn clicked his tongue before hitting him with the Leon hammer again. "Anyway, get your body moving. You have to do a lot of paperwork and practice to make the inheritance ceremony perfect."
"Paperwork?!" Tsuna said in disbelief. "But isn't grandpa doing it?"
Reborn rolled his eyes. "There are paperwork which requires your signature as the new boss of Vongola."
Tsuna frowned in dismay, sighing deeply before walking towards the door, accepting his fate.
"Lead the way, Reborn." he said sadly while Reborn smirked.
"Gladly." before he left, though, he turned to the other people in the room who was looking at Tsuna in pity. "You guys also have to practice. For the guardians, there are also some paperwork you must sign while practicing."
They sighed but nod, not wanting to be hit like Tsuna. Reborn nod proudly before following Tsuna.
And, just like that, two days passed and the ceremony is now happening in one of the largest room in the mansion where the roof was made of glass.
"Are you nervous, Tsunayoshi-kun?" Primo asked while looking at his descendant who was lightly tapping his left foot impatiently.
"Not really, Giotto-san." Tsuna replied. "I'm annoyed that my guardians aren't here yet when I clearly stated to arrive at 10 A.M."
Giotto looked at the clock and winced slightly. It was currently 12 in the afternoon.
"What time does the ceremony start?" he asked.
Tsuna frowned in anger. "It's suppose to start now."
And, just on cue, Nono appeared on stage with a smile, his guardians on tow to protect him if something happened.
"Welcome, everyone, to the inheritance ceremony of Sawada Tsunayoshi to become the tenth boss of Vongola." he said.
Nono spoke more but Tsuna ignored it, looking around to see his guardians. He saw the girls in the front row together with his classmates. After them came the Varia and the ex-arcobalenos with a bored Spanner and frightened Shoichi. The other allies, from closest to not, went after them. From Dino and his family to Shimon to Yuni to Byakuran, everyone he knows was present. Heck, even his mother and father with the others back in Japan was in live. However, much to his frustration, not a single hair of any of his guardians were seen.
"Now, to introduce the Vongola tenth's guardians." he heard Nono mention, causing a brief panic to arise in Tsuna.
"The Storm guardian and the right-hand man, Gokudera Hayato." on cue, red fireworks in the form of a cat (uri) emerged in the skies and red smoke filled the stage and the shadow of a man appeared. The smoke then dissolved, showing Gokudera Hayato, who had a neutral look, in a suit as his storm flames surrounded his body.
"The rain guardian and the left-hand man, Yamamoto Takeshi." Yamamoto, with the same neutral look, also appeared in a similar fashion like Gokudera. However, instead of red fireworks in the form of a cat, it changed to blue sparrow and dog. The smoke was also changed to blue and his body was surrounded by rain flames.
The rest of the guardians were introduced the same way with their box weapons becoming their fireworks and the color scheme being their flame color. Finally, it was Tsuna's turn.
"Last but not least, the new boss of Vongola," at this statement, Nono looked at Tsuna with a proud look. "Sawada Tsunayoshi."
The fireworks turned orange with a lion with a cape as Tsuna appeared gracefully, appearing like a prince in a story book. He approached Nono and kneeled down while Nono handed him the Vongola rings. He then stood up and walked into the center where his guardians gathered. When he reached it, his guardians all kneeled down (yes, including Hibari and Mukuro. They know full well how important this is and, if they don't obey, the Vongola will be looked down on). Tsuna smiled at them and granted them their rings from Gokudera to Yamamoto to Lambo (who came back because yesterday for this event) to Ryohei to Hibari to both Mukuro and Chrome who held each side of the ring. Once it was done, Tsuna expected them to stand up and the all of them will stare at the guests. However, contrary to his belief and practice, the guardians didn't stand up. Instead, the air started turning colder and Bermunda and Jeager appeared. Everyone suddenly turned serious and prepared themselves for battle. However, the guardians continued kneeling down as if waiting for something else to happen. And, after a few seconds, flames of different colors appeared beside the Vindice, showing Primo and his guardians. The guardians all nod at each other before they spoke in unison.
"We, the elements of the sky, vows in front of the Vindice and the founders of Vongola to continue serving him until the end. We will never betray him nor leave him. If we do, we swear, in front of the Vindice, that they have the right to capture us forever."
"So be it." Bermunda spoke. "This shall be upheld until your deaths."
"We, the first generation of Vongola, shall forever remember this promise." the first generation spoke together. "If it is broken, that guardian shall die and be erased from the history of Vongola as a guardian. Instead, they shall be deemed a traitor forever."
They then vanished, leaving everyone dumbfounded. Tsuna, in particular, stared at his guardians who all had a smile or a smirk on their lips. He felt touched and knew he had unshed tears in his eyes. The guardians then stood up and arranged themselves so that Tsuna will be in the center as they faced the guests with bloodlust in the air, daring for them to attack or betray them. Fortunately, everyone just clapped, no one stupid enough to attack them. The tenth generation then left the stage and greeted everyone else who came, exhausting them to the bones. Finally, after hours of keeping a smile/smirk in place, the ceremony finally ended and all the guests left. Tsuna called out to the students who were heading back to their rooms.
"Wait!" Tsuna called out, causing all of them to turn to him who only smiled.
"My classmates and teacher." he announced. "Do make sure to come to the ballroom A tomorrow morning at 10 AM."
The students and Nezu just looked at each other before nodding.
"Dismiss." Tsuna said and they left, leaving them alone.
"Well." Tsuna turned to his friends and family. "Let's get plenty of rest in preparation of tomorrow. You guys don't leave yet, though."
"Yes~" they replied and one by one left until the guardians are left alone with Tsuna. He turned to them and smiled with gratefulness, hugging each of them.
"Thank you."
The guardians only smiled back at him (even Mukuro and HIbari) and they all left for tomorrow.
