Zhadow woke up in a white room, a smell of chemicals and sanitizers filled his systems. He was in a hospital, back in the No Zone, resting in a bed. He was bandaged on almost every single limb, his abdomen was also bandaged as he had gotten stabbed, hard. His left eye was also wrapped up in bandaged, restricting his view. Turning to his right, he saw his best friend, his lover, Zonic. He was resting peacefully, his chest rising and falling gently. He had bandages on his abdomen only. It seems that he had gotten lucky and only gotten a slice on his side.

"Zonic? You alive?" He asked, gently caressing his lover's cheek. With a low groan, Zonic slowly opened his eyes and threw himself into Zhadow's chest.
"Zhadow!" He cried out, sobbing.

"It's ok, everything's fine now." Zhadow said, squeezing Zonic's ear as he hugged him.
"But we almost died! We almost died and we had only confessed our love!" Zonic shouted, his tear-filled eyes meeting Zhadow's calm ones.
"But we didn't." He reminded his saddened lover. "We're alive, both of us."
"But look at the state we're in..." Zonic scanned himself, then Zhadow, his voice low with guilt.

"Don't blame yourself, Zonic. You did nothing wrong." Zhadow hugged Zonic again, holding him close. "You did nothing wrong. And besides," Zhadow laid on his back, pulled Zonic up to his face and shared a passionate kiss with him. "I love you."

Zonic chuckled as Zhadow said those words.
"Well, well." He smiled, giving his lover another kiss. "I'm surprised you have the strength to do that."
Zhadow chuckled, not giving a thought about his condition, or Zonic's and shared another kiss. This time, he did not break it until they were both about to suffocate. Panting as they broke their bond, they smiled.

"As long as we have privacy..." Zhadow began.
"We can do whatever we want." And Zonic finished before they shared yet another kiss.
