Jeffory's POV
We were all ready to go to Meteli to help them for the battle. I walked with Katelyn and asked "Do you think that we'll win this battle?" She looked at me saying "Honestly I don't know, I mean O'Khasis got taken over..." I decided that she didn't want to talk about it. I walked to Aphmau and said "Everybody is really nervous about the upcoming battle. Heck, I don't know if we stand a chance..." "I know but you can't lose hope and besides Nicole is coming also to help in the battle." she said. "We're here." Mallen said. I looked up to see New Meteli is in chaos as people rush around to their homes to take shelter for the upcoming battle. Candenza walked up to us and said "Oh thank Irene! You're here! Thanks for helping us and warning us about Tu'la." Aphmau hugged her and saying "Anything for my old friend! Now Mallen and Travis go and help anyone who needs help." They nod and ran into different directions to help the guards prepare for the battle. "All right, Jeffory, Katie, and Katelyn go help with the defenses and Lucinda and Abby go help the villagers with anything they need help with. Me, Nicole, and Candenza need to discuss about the upcoming battle. Dismissed!" she said. We all nodded and went to go help. Me and Katelyn went to one side while Katie went to the other side. "So what do you guys need help with?" I asked one of the guards. "Well we need help reinforce our walls and put spikes all around the wall. Think you guys can handle that?" he said. We nodded and Katelyn said "So I can help reinforce the wall while you can put spikes around it." I nod saying "Yeah sure." We went to work immediately. When I was finishing the last few spikes for the wall, I saw that it was late afternoon. Katelyn and Katie walked over to me and Katelyn said annoyed "Are you done yet?" "Oh yeah! You think it's that easy to plant these 100 pounded spikes all around the walls and you have to position them to their right places! Wow! This job is soo easy!" I said annoyed and angry. "What? What was that mmm? Are you're asking for a knuckle sandwich?!" Katelyn yelled at me. "Bring it on Firefist!" I say ready to fight! Before we could have our little fight, Katie got in between us and yelled "Will you too stop arguing! Man! You guys are acting like two siblings fighting over the last cookie!!!" Katelyn glared at me with daggers when I walked over to her and suddenly I hug Katelyn. "Gahhh!!!" yelled Katelyn with surprise. I could feel her warm breaths hitting my face and I saw her blush like a lot. I could feel myself blushing as well. "W-what a-are you doing Jeffory?" she shuddered. "Well I guess I wanted to be with you and I also hugged you so you can stop being mad at me." I said. Oh Irene... her eyes are so beautiful. I thought. "You're cute when you blush." I told her making her even more redder than she already is. I let go and looked at Katelyn. "Shut up." she said embarrassed. "Oh Katelyn you're a really big doofus!" I said making Katie laugh. (I totally not steal that from you nerdy!) "Hahaha! Katelyn you should see your face right now! It's so red!" Katie gigged. I walked back inside the gates to see if there is anything else to do.

Katie's POV
I looked at my sister and said "Your friend Jeffory is so funny!" She just said "I know but I hate him..." "And you love him." I finished her sentence for her. "Whatever let's just go and find something else to do." she said. I nodded and followed her into the gates. I can't tell her my secret. She and her friends would hate me! I thought as I walked around New Meteli. It turned night and everyone was going to bed when I felt something in my pocket buzz and it made a sound. No! Not right now! Katelyn looked at me and asked "What's that noise?" I said "N-nothing! I-I'll be right back!" I ran out of the house in panic! I ran into the forest and I took out the thing which it was a communication amulet, it spoke a voice and said "Katie. Is everyone asleep?" "Yes. I gave everyone a potion of sleepiness so you guys better hurry before the potion wears off!" "Good, good Katie! Go to your position and wait for us at the gates." "Yes sir." I said. I turned off my amulet and ran to the gates and waited. I'm so sorry Katelyn and Mallen! But I can't betray my position as a Jury of Nine member. I can't lose my husband and daughter. I waited for the Tu'la soldiers to arrive.
