The next few chapters will be more focused on the new characters. 

McKenna's POV

I woke up in a bed. Wait...how did I get here? I thought. I sat up and looked around. Crazy walked in and said "Looks like you're awake. Want some breakfast?" "Sure." I said getting up and walked into the kitchen. I sat at the table and waited for Crazy to finish cooking. She walked over with eggs and bacon and sat down. Crazy looked at me and asked "Why were you sleeping outside?" I choked on my eggs by the question. I said "Uh...I was taking a walk and I uh fell asleep. Yeah! That's it!" Crazy looked at me and said "Ok. Then why were you crying in your sleep mmm?" I looked at her and thought I can't tell her...about the Steven incident. "Come on. You can tell me. I promise not to tell." she said with concerned eyes. "F-fine. I'm a shadow knight and I know that Steven guy..." she looked at me saying "Go on." "You know that necklace he has. Well that was his mother's and he said that a shadow knight killed her when he was younger. *starts to tear up* I-I'm the s-shadow knight that killed his mother. I made his life miserable! It's all my fault!" I said a few tears going down my face. Crazy said "But you had no control over your body! So it's not your fault! It's nobody's!" I wipe the tears away and asked "Really?" she replied "Yes and I'm sure that he'll come to his senses to the fact that it wasn't your fault and forgive you." I said "Thank you for the hospitality, I must be going now." I get up and walk out of the house. Aphmau walked over to me and said "Hey McKenna! You want to go on a patrol with some people?" I said "Sure!" she nodded and I walked to the gates. I saw Katie, Ivy, and Steven waiting for somebody to join the group. I avoided eye contact with Steven and he was staring at me with annoyed and angry eyes. Ivy said "Ok so we'll split into two groups: Me and Katie and Steven and McKenna." Why?! Of all people him! I thought. Steven growled "Why do I have to be with her?!" I looked down trying not to look at him. Ivy said a little annoyed "Because I said so!" and they left. Steven said walking into the forest "Come on! So I can get this over with and don't have to see your face again." I followed him slowly. It was an awkward walk. I didn't want to say anything that might get him mad. He stopped and sighed. He turned around to look at me and said "Look...I'm sorry that I tried to kill you last night. I didn't mean any of that. I...I was just shocked that you killed my mom. Like you said, you had no control over your body so it was technically not your fault." I stood there shocked at what he just said. "B-but I killed your mother! How do you not hate me after what I've done..." I tried to say. Steven walked over and hugged me. H-he's hugging me?! I thought in shock. "It wasn't your fault and besides that's in the past. We need to focus on what's happening right now and the future." Steven said letting go of me. "S-so you're forgiving me?" I asked him. "I guess so." he said. "So doofus! What do you want to do now?" I said giving him a funny look. "First. Don't call me a doofus! And second: I guess we can patrol until we think it's safe. Ok!" Steven said. "I can call you whatever I want and let's gooo!" I said walking away from him. He said catching up to me "Fine but I'm calling you McKenny!" he laughed. "No you are not!" I said tackling him to the ground and playfully hitting him. He said playfully "Nooo! You killed me!" he pretended to die. When I was getting off of him, an arrow went flying between us and hitting the apple that was hanging from a low branch of a tree. We quietly got up and I yelled "Who's there?!" I was shocked at the arrow that almost hit my face. A man jumped down and laughed his head off "Hahaha! You should have seen the look on your faces when the arrow went in between you two! Hahahaha! Too funny!" I looked at him, he had green eyes, blonde hair, and had a bow and two daggers. He was definitely a elf. "What's your name?! Or me and my friend here will chop you in little pieces!" Steven yelled at the elf. "Wooh! Calm down man! I'm on your side! And the name's Rhys." he said. (It's pronounced as rise if you're confused.)

*Timeskip back to Phoenix Drop

Steven's POV 

I walked into the gates with McKenna and Rhys. I saw the bubblegum haired girl (Ivy) and blushed a bit. McKenna saw this and said "Ooo! Someone's got a crush!" I flushed and she laughed at my embarrassment. I said "Oh yeah! Well at least I don't drool over that guy named Vylad everytime I see him!" it was her turn to blush and she flushed also. "Fine! You win this time! For now." she said walking away. I turned to Rhys and said "Hey Rhys! So you're good at the bow?" "Of course! I'm not good. I'm amazing! I'm amazing!" Rhys yelled doing something funny with his hands. I like this guy already! I thought. "Hahaha! You're funny my man!" I said laughing. He suddenly stopped and was looking at something behind me. I turned around to see that he was looking at Zoey. "Oh! That's Zoey by the way! What? Do you like her hmm?" I said smirking at him. He said "N-no! Ok, maybe. Fine! I do like her." "Why don't you try and go talk to her?" I said. "Ok! Wish me luck!" Rhys said walking towards Zoey. "Hi there! My name is Rhys and I just wanted to say that you look like a angel." he said with such confidence. Wow...he's not nervous! He has to teach me how to do that! I thought surprised. Zoey blushed and said "Aww! Thanks Rhys!" she gave him a kiss on the cheek and walked away. Rhys walked back to me and said "That's how it's done!" "Dude! You have got to teach me how to do that?!" I said looking at him with pleading eyes. He laughed and said "Later ok? I'm tired and need sleep." "Yeah. I'm pretty tired myself too. Cya later!" I said walking back to my house.
