Chapter 30 - Marauder Edition
"I'm not going!" Lily said loudly and threw her hands in the air.
"Come on Lils! It'll be fun!" Marlene insisted.
"You just want to go because Sirius is hosting it!"
"Technically Sirius isn't hosting it." I said, taking a bite out of a Chocolate bar I had. I turned the page in my book and I had no idea how I could do both at the same time. "The Marauders are hosting it all together and really the only sane one there is Peter. So it's understandable why Lily doesn't want to go."
"Peter's the only sane one?" Alice asked. "What about Remus?"
"Remus? Well he was the one that suggested a Chocolate war so he's out of the list of sane people-"
"Didn't you suggest it?"
"I will be going because they will force me to go anyway." I said loudly, quickly changing the subject. "And I don't want my book to get hurt."
"Right, aren't you in love with one of the characters?" Marlene asked, sitting on my bed. "Isn't it Tom? Toby-"
"Tommy." I corrected. "Tommy D. and I'm not in love with him-"
They coughed. "Yeah right!" Then Marlene said in a mocking voice, " 'I feel so bad for Tommy! I'm glad he's not as annoying as some other boys I know! He's so hot!' "
I threw a pillow at Marlene and rolled my eyes, "Oh shut up, you say the same about Sirius."
Marlene rolled her eyes, turned red and didn't answer.
"Where did they say we have to meet them?" Alice asked.
"Common Room they said." I answered, finishing the last piece of my chocolate bar. "We should get going now."
"I don't want to go." Lily said and crossed her arms stubbornly.
"Oh come on!" Marlene grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the dormitory. I sighed and Alice and I followed them, after grabbing another chocolate bar from my bag,
"How many have you had so far?" Alice asked me as I opened another chocolate bar.
"This is my seventh... I think." I answered and took a bite.
"Seventh? Wow, that's a lot."
"Not really, I've had eleven so far." Alice and I turned around to see the Marauders. Remus was, of course, eating chocolate. I made a face and rolled my eyes, walking away from him.
"Hey Evans! You decided to come!" James exclaimed, strutting over to Lily, who groaned slightly. "Did you think you were going to miss me too much?"
"I was forced to come here Potter." Lily spat, crossing her arms.
"That's what she said-"
"Alice! You should invite Frank too." Peter stated to Alice, who frowned.
"Why?" She questioned.
"I don't know, maybe he'll enjoy it."
Alice laughed. "Probably not, are we doing the truth or dare here?"
"Of course not!" Sirius exclaimed. "Follow us!" Sirius swaggered out of the Common Room. I sighed and we all followed him.
The Marauders stopped in front of a giant wall. I frowned and looked around.
"Guys, there's nothing here." I stated the obvious.
"Yes there is." James said, still staring at the wall.
"No there isn't-"
"Yes there is, you're still new here Fall."
"Well you all look like idiots, staring at a wall like that."
"Hey Bells." I glared at Remus and he smiled innocently. "Remember last year how you had that nightmare and you screamed so loudly that you woke up everyone?"
I frowned. "Yeah...?"
"And remember how I found you coming out of a room on the seventh floor, this floor?"
"Yeah..."
"This is the same room."
"There's nothing here."
"The Room of Requirement, appears to anyone who needs it. If you have your mind set on somewhere you need to go, the door will appear and you can go inside."
"Sucky explanation, Moony." Sirius stated. Remus rolled his eyes.
"I'm guessing to you it appeared as a quiet room... maybe books to calm you down..."
"I forgot my glasses so those books were torture." I stated and sighed. A giant door appeared on the wall and James and Sirius grinned, turning towards us.
"Told you." James said to me. I rolled my eyes.
"Ladies first!" Sirius exclaimed and gestured to the door. He took the opportunity to wink at Marlene. Marlene blushed and opened the door before walking inside.
"If ladies are going first does that mean, Sirius has to go first?" I said. Sirius shot me a glare.
"No, I'm not a girl, Fall."
"Really? But you have the long hair, feminine scream."
"Oh just go inside before Sirius gets ideas." James whispered in my ear and pushed me forward.
"What do you mean 'ideas'?" I asked him, turning around.
"Just go inside." I shrugged and walked inside the Room of Requirement.
The room was quite large. Different coloured cushions lay on the floor in the middle of the room, all set out in a circle. A small fireplace was to the right. Near the fireplace, was a fridge, which made me frown with confusion. On the left, was a giant bookshelf.
"BOOKS!!!" I exclaimed and ran to the bookshelf, jumping over a pillow on the way. I grabbed the first book, Hexes and Jinxes.
"Nice..." Marlene said, looking around.
"What's with the fridge?" Lily asked James and Sirius, who grinned and shrugged in reply.
I opened the book and flipped through the pages. So many spells, so many jinxes and hexes. Anteoculatia: Turns a person's hair into antlers. "An-te-oh-cu-la-tia". I looked up and my eyes landed on James. I smirked slightly and closed the book. I'll keep that hex in mind...
"Now everyone sit," James said, sitting down. Everyone sat down on a cushion. I sat between Remus and Lily, who had made it her mission to stay away from James as far as possible.
"Welcome to Truth or Dare: Marauder Edition!" Sirius said loudly, and threw his hands in the air. In his hand, he had a bottle of...
"Is that Firewhiskey?" Alice asked, clearly horrified at the very thought. Firewhiskey, the wizarding alcohol. I never tasted it obviously, but with a bottle of alcohol in Sirius's hand, I had a bad feeling about this.
"Possibly Fortescue. For those who can't comprehend 'Marauder Edition' in your head-"
"So you?" I said loudly. Sirius glared at me but continued.
"Shut it Fall. Now this is just like normal truth or dare, just with some rules that have been added-"
"Merlin, help us." Lily begged silently.
"Firstly, you have no choice but to do the dare. If you don't want to do the dare, then you have to drink a bit of Firewhiskey-"
"Underage drinking?" Marlene asked, her eyes widening.
"I'm seventeen in two more months Marlene. Just does unfortunate people who are seventeen in March should be worried." Sirius looked at Remus and James.
"And April." I mumbled and groaned silently.
"Padfoot, you said nothing about Firewhiskey..." Remus stated, eyeing the bottle carefully.
"Yes I did!" Sirius answered.
"No you didn't."
"Yes I did! Remember when we were at the Black Lake just before and we were discussing the rules and - oh wait you were doing homework..."
Remus rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "And tomorrow you'll ask me for the answer." Sirius frowned deeply and thought for a moment.
"And you'll give them to me."
"No I won't."
"Yes you will, Moony, as I was saying, you must drink Firewhiskey-"
"I don't like this."
"Of course you don't. That's the whole point. Anyway, and also, Remus will have his camera to take pictures of the embarrassing dares."
Everyone turned to Remus, who frowned deeply. "What?" Remus asked, swallowing the chocolate in his mouth.
"You'll be taking photos. We discussed this too."
"I'm going to get killed."
"If you get killed, can I have your chocolate?" I asked Remus.
"I'll make sure my chocolate is buried with me," he mumbled and scooted closer to Peter before finishing his chocolate.
"Meanie..."
"Anyway," Sirius said loudly, shooting us both a look. "I'm trying to explain something here! Oh and if you refuse to answer a truth, then we'll use Veritaserum, or truth serum for those who didn't pay attention in Potions last year-"
I coughed. "James." I coughed again. James glared at me.
"How are you going to get Veritaserum?" Lily asked.
"By stealing it." James said simply and shrugged.
"You can't steal it!"
"Yeah we can and we will."
Lily glared at him angrily before turning away from him and fuming furiously.
"Now!" Sirius said, clapping his hands together. "That's all the rules, I'm sure there's more but no one has time for that... so, who will go first."
Sirius sat down besides James, who said immediately. "I'll go first. Evans, truth or dare?"
Lily sighed with annoyance and closed her eyes, like she was begging for something to happen so all of this could stop. "Dare..."
"I dare you to go on a date with me."
Nearly everyone slapped their foreheads and groaned. Lily glared at him. "No!"
"It's a dare you have to do it." James smirked at her.
Lily groaned and held out her hand in front of Sirius. "Pass me the bottle."
"To think Lily would be the first one to drink Firewhiskey..." Marlene stated in shock. Sirius smirked slightly and passed her the bottle of alcohol. With her hands shaking, Lily slowly drank the Firewhiskey. Then she set it down, gagging.
"That is disgusting..." Lily said. "But it's better then going on a date with you!" She added, glaring at James, who stared at her in shock and... awe.
"You must really be annoying and arrogant to get rejected like that." I said to James, who rolled his eyes and shot me a look.
"Thank you." James replied simply. The Marauders groaned silently.
"That wasn't meant to be a compliment."
"I know."
"Every time..." I heard Remus mutter to himself.
"Wow, Evans it's your turn!" Sirius stated. Lily looked around, looking a bit light-headed. How much did she drink?
"Remus, truth or dare?" Lily said finally.
Remus thought for a minute then sighed. "I'm going to regret this... dare."
Lily nodded and grinned suddenly. "I dare you to prank Dumbledore, and if you get caught, you have to give Isabel five - ten of your chocolate bars."
"I love you!" I exclaimed and gave Lily a hug. Remus's eyes widened and looked at Lily in shock.
"And I hate you..." He muttered and stood up. James and Sirius grinned at him.
"Are you actually going to do it?" Peter asked, looking at Remus with disbelief.
"Better then drinking Firewhiskey."
"We've taught him so well Padfoot." James stated, pretending to wipe a tear.
"I'm so proud." Sirius said solemnly. Remus rolled his eyes.
"Oi wait up, we'll come with you!" James, Sirius and Peter stood up.
"Just to make sure you do the prank." Lily said, standing up as well.
"And I want my chocolate." I stated, walking over to him.
"I'm not going to get caught." Remus said, crossing his arms.
"You don't know that Wolfie."
"And you're still not getting my chocolate Bells." Remus smiled innocently and ran out of the room. I sighed with annoyance and James, Sirius, Peter, Lily and I followed him.
Once we were outside of Dumbledore's office, Remus stood in front of the gargoyle and sighed, looking around.
"Do you know what you're going to do?" Sirius asked.
"Uh-huh." Remus nodded. "Bertie Botts Every Flavoured Beans," the gargoyle didn't move. "Sherbet Lemons, Sugar Quills, Chocolate frogs!"
The gargoyle moved out of the way and the door opened. Remus sighed and walked inside the office. We waited outside.
"What do you think he will do?" Peter asked. James and Sirius shrugged.
"He'll probably fill the office with chocolate or something." I stated. "Speaking of chocolate-"
"We don't have any chocolate, Fall." Sirius said quickly. I sighed with defeat.
After a while, of sitting in silence, the Marauders were on one side, discussing something very quietly, when I heard someone call out. "Hey! Isabel!"
I turned around and saw a boy, probably in seventh year. He was in Ravenclaw and he had black hair and blue eyes, and I had to admit, he was pretty cute.
I stood up as he ran to me, smiling. "Um hi?" I replied.
"I'm Hunter," The boy held out his hand and I shook it.
"And I'm Isabel - well you know that..." I muttered and he chuckled slightly.
"Uh... I was wondering, if maybe... you could go out with me?"
I stared at him. "Wait, what?"
"Will you go out with me?"
I blinked rapidly, not really believing what he was saying. "Um... sure, I guess, guy I just met."
Hunter laughed and sighed. "So that's a yes?"
I nodded. "Yeah, yeah."
He smiled. "Great, so I'll see you on Saturday? At the Three Broomsticks?"
"Sure, yeah." I smiled at him as he walked off. "Wow..."
"Look at you." Lily said, smiling. "You got yourself a date."
"I know..." I sat down beside her, still a bit awestruck.
"On the same day as me too..."
I looked at her. "Did someone ask you out? And it wasn't James?"
She nodded, "Yeah, he's in Gryffindor, a year older than us. He's actually really nice and good-looking. I just hope the same thing doesn't happen like last time..."
I frowned. "What do you mean? What happened last time?"
"Well, whenever I have dates with people, they always never show up at the date, or dumb me after the first one." Lily lowered her voice.
"Why?" She nodded towards James and I frowned, but wasn't really surprised. "Oh..."
"Yeah besides-" She was interrupted by Remus stepping out of Dumbledore's office. We all looked up at him. He had a grin on his face, which made me a bit worried.
"Did you do it?" James asked. Remus nodded and smirked.
"Shall we get going?" Remus stated. We nodded and walked back to the Room of Requirement.
"Sirius! Truth or Dare?" Remus asked Sirius immediately when we walked into the Room of Requirement. The rest of us sat down in our spots as Remus and Sirius remained standing.
"Dare! I'm not afraid." Sirius said and smirked.
"I dare you to pour slime on your hair and leave it in for a week."
Sirius's smirk faded. "W-What?"
"Slime on your hair. Now."
"B-But-" Now it was Remus's turn to smirk. "W-Where would we find the s-slime?"
As if to answer his question, a bottle of slime dropped from the ceiling landing in his hand. Sirius sighed with annoyance.
"Yeah, thanks Room of Requirement." Sirius said sarcastically, then looked at Remus, "I hate you."
Remus smirked at him and Sirius took the lid of the bottle, his hands shaking. Slowly, he lifted the slime bottle above his head and slowly tipped it over. The slime slowly fell on his hair. Sirius let out a small scream and closed his eyes. Once the bottle was finished, Sirius dropped it and groaned with disgust and screamed again.
"Ugh! My hair! M-My precious hair!" Sirius looked into a mirror, that had appeared randomly. He screamed again. "Look at it! It's terrible! My hair is ruined! Moony, what have you done to my hair?!?"
The rest of us laughed at his reaction. Remus grabbed the camera and took a photo.
"Why are you all laughing?! It's not funny - Oi you can't take a photo!!"
"Your rule." Remus stated. Sirius stared at him and sat down slowly.
"M-my hair... Isabel, truth or dare?"
"Truth." I said simply.
"Boo!!" James yelled. I rolled my eyes.
"Alright then, who do you have a crush on?" Sirius asked.
I groaned. "Really?"
"Yes really. Answer the question."
"Alright..." I sighed then grinned suddenly. "I have a crush on a guy named... Tommy D."
The girls laughed, knowing that Tommy was in a book and that it was true. The Marauders however, nodded and frowned. They didn't know any Tommy, well I hoped they didn't, because they glanced at each other as if they were planning something.
