Hello, just a quick side note: Chara's text will look like this. And I say 'white void' and not 'anti-void' or 'void' is because Error and Ink are in the anti-void and Goopster is in the void. And the void is pitch black. (I swear I am not racist) Also, 'white void' just is a description to what the remainder of Cross's AU, so it's not really a void at all. Did that even make sense...?

Nightmare still has two eyes. Well, anyways, enjoy Book One!

~~~~On With The Story~~~~

I was resting, laying down in the white void that was my home. What cha' thinkin'? Eh. Not much. I'm bored. Yeah, so am I. I closed my eyes and zoned out. There was nothing to do, anyways. Hey Criss-Cross, we have a visitor~ What? I opened my eyes to be facing the back of...? What is that? Whoever-or whatever- it was, they were completely unaware of my presence. All gooey black with tentacles. Well that's something new...

I grabbed my knife in case they were a threat. They turned around and we made eye contact. It readied their attacks, and their eyes glowing a bright blue. Welp, it was nice knowin' ya'! Bye-bye pal! Chara don't you da- of course...Chara's spirit could be seen hovering a few yards away from me. The newcommer looked confused, probably wondering where Chara came from. Chara floated away until they hit the barrier. It was the limit for how far away we could get from each other.

"Who are you?" The newcommer spoke. The voice told me that they were male.

"Why would I tell you that? This is my AU," I replied. He hissed in frustration.

"My name is Nightmare. Happy now? So what's your name?" Huh. Odd name. Rings a slight bell...

"My name is-" He cut me off.

"Sans, I know. I just asked to be 'polite', but-"

"No. My name was Sans. My name is now Cross," I growled, remembering my world before it went downhill.

Nightmare tilted his head to the side then asked, "Who is that?" Pointing at Chara.

"Oh. That's Chara," I told him. Chara floated back to my side.

I think he could be a threat. Be wary. No, Chara, I'm sure he's fine. I mean, he isn't attacking us, right? He could be tricking us. How did he even get here? Can he teleport AUs like Ink and Error? For once you have a good point. Okay, I'll stay alert. Nah, I'm always right. Says the once genocidal genderless evil demon child. Grr...

"Hey, are you okay, or are you asleep standing up?" Nightmare's voice made me snap back into reality. I blinked rapidly and looked at him.

"O-oh y-yeah I'm fine.... Chara and I just shared a few words..." Nightmare looked confused but just shrugged. "Oh and I have a question."

"What is it?"

"Why are you here, in my AU?" Our AU. Hehe..."Our AU..."

"Oh yeah. Me and my brother Dream got into a fight, he opened a portal to here, and tossed me in," He said.

"Oh that's where I've heard of you before..!" I remembered.

"What?"

"Ink used to visit me and tell me about different AUs... I wonder where he is... Anyways, he mentioned the brothers Nightmare and Dream a few times," Nice trip down memory lane.

"What did Ink say about me?" Nightmare asked, growing curious.

Don't. Say. Anything. He'll kill you! I'll be fine, Chara! "He said that you are the king of nightmares. You gives dark dreams to monsters who have strong negative emotions. Dream is the king of dreams, and gives all monsters well, dreams. Good ones," I told him.

Nightmare nodded. "Pretty accurate." He glanced around the white void before saying "Well, I'm off then." He used one of his 3...4...5...? Four. Tentacles to open a portal to who knows where.

"W-wait!!" I called to Nightmare before he reached the portal.

"What do you want?" He asked, annoyed.

"C-can I come with you?" I asked. Don't chance it!

"Why would I do that?" He asked me, raising an 'eyebrow'. (I know that skeletons don't have eyebrows...but don't judge meh...)

"Umm..." I was at a loss. I had nothing to give, and I'm bad at everything. You've got that right, pal. Shut up.

Nightmare thought carefully before speaking again. "How 'bout this? You can keep an eyesocket on Horror and Killer, two of my friends. Make sure they don't break anything and set the house on fire. If you do good, you can stay," He offered.

"Deal!!" I accepted. I'll die because of you.... Nah, you're already dead. You get my point. At least we won't be here. Ugh, fine... Yay! Shut it.

Nightmare gave me no warning when one of his tentacles wraped around my waist and threw me full force through the portal. I landed face first onto grass. At least I wasn't in the white void.

"Warning, much?" I asked Nightmare. I heard him laugh and I sat up. Nightmare was harassing Chara, trying to throw them through full force like he did to me. It wasn't working because Chara was a ghost. Nightmare gave up and just walked through with Chara following behind. Man, that was funny to see. Yeah, it was funny to watch you get thrown through a portal and onto solid ground. Yeah...must've been...

"Hey, get up so I can show you to Killer and Horror," Commanded Nightmare. I got up and looked at my surroundings. Trees, grass, the horrifying Papyruses... Wait what? "Are you okay?" I heard Nightmare ask.

"I dunno..... I mean, I see a bunch of nightmare-ish versions of my dead brother....so I don't know if that's 'okay' to you...." Well this is a weird and slightly disturbing sight to see.... You're right....

Remember when Nightmare said to make sure 'Killer and Horror don't burn down the house'? Nightmare could've chosen better wording. No, nothing was on fire, but 'house' is a big understatement. Nightmare lives in a castle. Wow this place looks sweet! You actually made the right choice for once! Thanks. I was still admiring the place. "Stop staring and follow me," Said Nightmare. I obeyed and we soon were at the front gates. Two Papy guards blocking the way. When they saw Nightmare, they stepped aside and let us through the doors. Surprisingly, inside it was quite simple. Not overly fancy, but nice and home-y. There were two skeletons siting on the couch watching TV. "Hey, I brought a new resident," Nightmare said to get their attention. The skeletons looked around and looked at me in confusion.

"Is this guy staying here or can I kill 'em," Asked the one with a large hole in his skull.

The other one elbowed him in the 'gut'. "Nightmare said 'resident', so he's stayin'," He grunted. I nodded.

"Well, introduce yourselves, Cross here is to keep you from destroying the place. I'm going to get back at Dream, might fight. I'll be back around 8," And Nightmare teleported away.

"So... I'm Killer and this here is Horror, nice to meet cha' Cross," I shook hands with them. I saw Chara appear behind them. They looked at me and gave me the 'shh' sign. Chara poked Killer on the shoulder and disappeared right after. "Yeah?" Killer looked at Horror. Horror looked confused.

"What?" He asked.

"Why did ya' tap on my shoulder?"

"I didn't," Horror saw Chara appear behind Killer.

Chara made the 'shh' sign and looked at me. Killer was still questioning Horror, who was extremely confused. I slipped behind Killer as well. I covered his eyes with my hands and he immediately flipped out. He screamed in surprise and he shoved my hands away.  "Eww....what even is this?" My hands had a gooey black substance on them.

"WHY DID YOU DO THAT!! YOU NEARLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK!!!" Killer screamed at me.

"It wasn't even my idea," I responded.

"Then who's was it?!?!" He snarled, ticked off.

Chara appeared by my side and grinned. "It was me~" Chara rarely spoke, and when they did it was in an ominous whisper. That scared the crap out of Killer and Horror.

"Who are you?!" They asked at the same time.

"That's Chara, the evil once genocidal genderless demon child that I share half a soul with," I told them. Chara laughed at their title.

"Okay then...now let's just go eat dinner...I'm hungry," Decided Horror. I followed them to the kitchen.

"Nice," Maybe they would be like my new family... I wouldn't mind more pranks... Me neither.
