Chapter 7

As soon as I saw the family sit down, I was completely speechless. I couldn't move or look away. What got into Caroline's mind to actually come here when she yelled at me a couple days ago? I'm not sure, but the children over there do seem happy to be here. Once Drew got to his chair, he began the show with Party Quirks.

I let each of them in my party, but I couldn't get myself together to guess who each of them were. Wayne kept making different sound effects, Jeff was taking giant steps into the room, while Ryan seemed to have been acting very chipper. They all seemed so obvious, yet I couldn't say anything. "Lucille, can you guess what any of them are?" Drew tried to ask me. "Uh yeah, I don't remember this being the moon, no astronauts allowed at my party," I told Jeff. I got that right and Jeff went to sit down.

"I had no idea any of the members from Sesame Street liked to party," I guessed Wayne's and got it wrong. "Um, the members of Star Wars?" I guessed again, which was right this time. Ryan's was freaking me out a tiny bit because he was acting so hyper, kind of like a chipmunk or something. "Squirrels stay outside," I pointed out to him and then Drew ended the game. We played a couple more games including Sound Effects, Scenes from a hat, Film Dub, and the winner (which was Jeff) got to sit at the desk while the rest of us did a Hoedown. I actually made it through it while Drew messed up on his verse, which caused him to start over again.

After the cameras turned off and people began leaving, I started to sweat. I hope they all leave right away because I don't want to see them. "Nice show Lucille," I heard a voice come up behind me. Caroline thought it would be polite to tell me so. "Thank you," I said back. Samantha came running up to hug me. "I can't believe we actually saw you live! Caroline let us come because we finished all of our chores!" She said so happily. "I miss you," she then teared up.

"Aw I miss you too," I held her tight. Caroline's face never changed, it just stayed plain, probably because there is a child present and she wouldn't want anything to get ugly here in public. "Well it was nice seeing you all," I waved and walked away to my dressing room. I found a note taped to the mirror. "This isn't over," it read. Well that's scary. It isn't signed, so I'm not sure who it's from. Might've been Caroline, or maybe Alex, I don't know. I hid the note in my pocket because I didn't want Ryan too concerned.

"Hey ready to go?" Ryan peaked in and asked. "Yes," I said and walked out behind him. "A fan came up to me and wanted me to give you this card," he handed me an envelope, which had a card inside. "I'll read it later," I said very quickly. "You sure?" He got a little suspicious. "Yes," I said. We got in his car and he drove us back home. Once inside, I went right to my room and just flopped down on the bed. I then thought maybe now would be a good time and open the card. Though now I'm regretting the thought.

But I undid the envelope, took the card out, and to my surprise, there was a cookie in there. The card read, "Here is a sweet treat from all of us at the foster home, we miss you and hope you are enjoying your new home." I thought it was really sweet and the cookie did look pretty good. I decided to eat it then and actually put the card on the wall. But then my stomach started making weird noises. I grabbed on to it thinking it could make it better, but it didn't help. I felt my vision going blurry and my knees growing weak. "Ryan!" I tried to get his attention from wherever he is in the house.

I'm such an idiot, the cookie just had to be poisoned. The last thing I saw was Ryan quickly coming through the door and I heard his voice get very echoy. "Hold on Lucille!" He said frantically. He quickly placed me on the bed and called 911. An ambulance got here about 10 minutes later and rode me and Ryan to the hospital. Ryan was sitting in the waiting room and was very worried. The doctor then came out 30 minutes later. "Mr. Stiles?" He asked. "Yes?" Ryan immediately stood up. "We have an update about what happened," he started. "Please tell me," Ryan begged.

"So good news, we managed to stabilize Lucille and she's breathing normally," he said. Ryan breathed a sigh of relief. "We also found some finger prints on the cookie before it was handed off to you," he pointed out. "Really?" Ryan asked. "Who do they belong to?"

"They belong to a Mr. Alex Quinn and Miss. Caroline Mitchell."

A/N: Hello everyone! Sorry this chapter is a little short and sad, but I hope you all are enjoying this story and I promise to hopefully update more often!
