Sidi wanted to ask Laila more, but the screen went blue. He tried to go back to work. There had been further poll results released a few hours ago and so he had new issues and statistics that required focused strategy. He decided to call Jinnah.

Jinnah answered shortly. "Oh, hello, Sidi. News?"

"I just spoke to Laila. Jinnah, those Vampyres are going to the debate and the reception so that they can read minds to determine which candidates are truthful about their intentions. They are going to share their findings with the Darkling."

"I thought as much, Sidi."

"You did?"

Ahmed laughed. He lifted a glass of juice and took a sip. "I am not worried. I think I can make this work," Ahmed said.

"I hope so. Besides that, Laila said they are leaving early tomorrow."

"That means they will arrive in Islamabad about the same time as we do. They usually travel overnight."

Sidi nodded slowly. "I'll meet you at the airport tomorrow then," he said.

"Good night," Ahmed said.
