Lucy's point of view 

I ran back into the entrance hall with Fred and when we entered I saw dad standing there, he looked rather relieved. I walked over to him and gave him a quick hug. 

"I'm glad it's over now, we can go home. But I'm sure you want to say goodbye to some of your friends first...The ones in which have survived" dad said, he let go of me and I smiled.

"Where are the Weasley's?" I asked 

"Outside, they're standing on the bridge" 

"OK, thanks dad see you in a minute!" 

When me and Fred were outside I took Fred's hand, he seemed grateful at the gesture but he seemed very excited about seeing his family who thought he was dead. I looked up and saw Ginny looking at us. 

"Mum! What's George doing over there?" Ginny asked a bit confused 

"Are you mad! I'm right here!" George growled 

"Then who's that with Lucy Snape?" 

"I - I - " 

"FRED!" 

"No it isn't!"

"YES IT IS!, FRED!"

The whole Weasley family came running over to Fred, he was greeted by hugs and kisses on the cheek. Mrs Weasley was literally crying her eyes out as she hugged Fred but of course Fred had to explain to all of them that I was the hero and then I was greeted by all the hugs. 

"Oh Lucy! You're such a brave girl! I doubted you but you are ever so brave!" Mrs Weasley said as she gave me a hug for the fifth time 

"She is, she meddled with time just to save our son" Mr Weasley beamed at me 

"How ever can we repay you!" Mrs Weasley said as George gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek 

"Thank you so much for saving my brother" he whispered quickly in my ear then stepped back next to Ginny before I could even say 'you're welcome' 

"You don't have to, I'm glad you have Fred so now you don't have to mourn his loss" I said 

"Come along, Lucy" dad said from behind me, he was obviously getting impatient and wanted to go back to his block of bricks. 

"Oh, sorry dad" I said a bit embarassed 

I looked up and saw Fred. For a minute everyone around us disappeared, it was just me and him. I smiled sadly at him and he half smiled back, he walked towards me and gave me the best hug ever (I think he crushed my ribcage to be honest with you) 

"I'm going to miss you" and a secret tear fell from my eye 

"I'm going to miss you too" he replied 

"Good luck to you" 

"You too" 

A secret tear fell from my eye, I never wanted to let go of Fred. For some reason it felt like we were just best friends again, saying goodbye to each other. But the thing is dad had said that he thought i'd end up with a reject like a Weasley. 

Suddenly I saw Professor McGonagall walk past she tapped Snape on the shoulder and he turned around. 

"Come on, Severus, all the teachers are having a meeting in the great hall" McGonagall said firmly, for some reason I think she was pulling dad away from the Weasley's, the reason not being so there was any fights; the reason being so I could be with Fred because when she walked away she walked away she winked at me. 

"Come on everybody, lets go into the great hall as well" Mrs Weasley quickly said 

"But mum - !" Ginny began 

"Ginny, come along" 

"Fine..." 

And then the whole Weasley family trotted off leaving me and Fred standing there on the bridge. The sun was now up in the sky so the whole scene was finally clear, the devastation that had been caused. 

"There goes Hogwarts" I laughed softly 

"Yeah...Are you going to return for your seventh year if there is one?" Fred asked me 

"Oh yes, if I want to work at the ministry I need to complete Hogwarts" 

"But I was wondering..." Fred said as he let go of me, he began circling me, "do you think your father would object to some things?" 

"Well yes some things he does but he's just being my dad, a protective parent" 

"That's true but what if - " Fred stood in front of me, "because you saved his life and I helped just a little bit he'd accept that we're in love?" 

"I don't know about that, he can be rather funny" 

"Don't be silly, your father has never cracked a joke!" Fred laughed 

"Oh right sorry..." 

"I'm only joking" he smiled, "anyway, the point is would he object if I did this - " 

Fred reached into his back pocket and pulled out a velvet box, he got down on one knee then opened the box revealing a simply gorgeous ring. My eyes filled with tears as Fred spoke. 

"Lucy Snape, will you marry me?" Fred asked in a whisper 

I nodded and Fred stood up and, again, embraced me. I felt bad for getting tears on his shirt but I couldn't describe how happy I was. Fred let go and smiled at me, he grabbed my hand and slipped the ring on my finger.

"Lucy Weasley, ay?" He laughed

"Could well be!"

"Come on you, lets get in the great hall so we can go home"

"Go home?" I frowned  

"Aren't you coming to the burrow?"

"Well if I'm allowed to - wait a second! Did you ask my dad's permission to do this?" I held up my hand with the engagement ring and pointed to it.

"Um, er - no, I asked him but he said no but the thing is I couldn't not ask you" Fred looked down in shame but I playfully punched him in the arm 

"Weasley, I don't mind" 

We walked into the great hall and walked over to the Weasley's. I sat next to Ginny and then Hermione came and sat next to me and we began discussing what we were going to do now with our lives. 

"Ministry of magic for me!" I laughed 

"Oh and me!" Hermione smiled 

"I want to play for a quidditch team, I adore quidditch" Ginny piped up, "but I may come back to Hogwarts if it's fixed up to finish off my sixth and seventh years" 

"I'm definitely coming back, dad would kill me if I didn't" I laughed as I glanced as I looked at Fred who was laughing about something with his twin. I looked over at dad and saw that he looked pretty down, he was sitting down alone.

I got up and walked over to him, he looked up and suddenly his gloomy expression was gone. He stood up and gave me a hug, I felt so guilty now. I was engaged and dad didn't know and I would have to leave him.

"I'm glad you're OK now" I said to him

"I'm glad you're OK too" he replied placing a hand on my cheek

"So what now then?"

"Lets go for a walk, shall we?"

He took my hand and we headed out of the doors and stared out onto the horizon. I smiled and so much relief rushed through me. The battle was over, the wizarding and muggle population was safe and all death eaters had gone apart from Draco and Lucius whom were sitting with Narcissa inside the great hall.

"Dad?" I asked

"Yes, Lucy?"

"Did I really lose my memory at one point?"

"No, I can assure you, you didn't. But Mr Malfoy has always had a crush on you despite the fact that he bullied you. But Miss Jeanie has claimed him as her own"

"That's alright, I don't want to go out with Draco, he's not my type"  

"And Weasley is?" Dad sniggered

"I don't want to die alone, dad" 

"I know but - die alone? What are you talking about? You're not moving in with him are you?!" 

"Dad" I whispered, "Fred has proposed to me" 

All the colour drained from dad's face, he wore an expression of shock. He obviously wasn't taking this well, which is understandable. 

"You're too young" he said simply 

"I'm not getting married yet, not until I'm at least twenty" (dad raised an eyebrow), "thirty?" (His expression stayed the same), "forty? Fifty? Sixty? Seventy? Eighty? Ninety? Dad! I actually want to walk down the aisle un aided!" 

"Who said you're getting married?" 

"Er - " 

"I was joking, you now have the liberty to marry - to marry...Fred. As you saved me I guess I could give you something back in return. But like you said you have to be at least twenty, possibly older" 

"THANK YOU SO MUCH!" I squealed giving dad a massive hug, I think I crushed his rib cage but I was too happy. 

"You're welcome but you are coming back to Hogwarts if it's rebuilt aren't you?" 

"Yes, dad, I wouldn't miss my seventh year. Are you coming back to Hogwarts?" 

"If I'm allowed, yes and if I am allowed I'll take the post of headmaster again" 

"Wicked!" 

"Maybe even your children will come here..." Dad muttered 

"Oh dad, don't get your hopes up for that!" I laughed 

"We'll see what the future holds" 

"Alright then but still don't get your hopes up" 

And so me and dad sat there and watched as the sun was up in the sky and laughed at a few of my jokes just to pass the time. But I needn't worry about leaving Hogwarts, I'd be back there soon...
