~Chapter seven: You evil GIT!~
~[Hey Guys! I added the youtube link at the side of the song 'Snape vs Snape' I thought it was good because if you think about it when your reading the fight me and Snape have below we're both Snape's and the girl in the song says that 'people don't change' so I thought it fitted perfectly!]~
Fred's point of view
You know when sometimes you can't believe things but y'know, you have to? Well i'm sort of like that at the moment...Snape busted me out of prison! You'd never think that my old Professor who hated me and my twin brother's guts got me out of prison! And I shouted at this daughter! Well maybe Snape's turned over a new leaf, good for him!
So anyway me and dad had apparated from the Malfoy manor to this estate where Snape and Lucy live. And we're looking for a road called 'Spinners end', I find it strange that Snape would move to an area where it's full of muggles. You'd of thought he had more class...Well, then again it just shows that teachers don't get payed much nowadays.
Anyway, dad had a map out (he was trying to find Spinners end but so far we had landed in the wrong place five times because of that map) and was attempting to find Spinners end (again.) He walked this way and that until he said 'ah-hah!' But then shook his head and began to pace again.
I sat down on a smooth rock by the nearby river. It was quite a pretty addition to such a gloomy estate. I picked up one of the pebbles that surrounded the river and threw it so it skimmed the water. I stared at the place where the pebble had landed and stared at it for a moment before my attention was drawn to the reflection of the sunset.
And I began to think, if this battle between good and bad wasn't far off, should I start appreciating the things I have around me more? I guess there's an old saying 'you don't know what you have until it's gone' which is totally true. I didn't know how much Lucy meant to me until she was gone.
"Fred I think we're going to have to give up looking for Spinners end because if you remembered it's Bill and Fleurs wedding in about half an hour - " dad began but I cut him off
"No! We are going to find Spinners end wether you like it or not, give me that map!"
I tore the map from dad's hands and began furiously scanning it to find Spinners end. At last I saw the little road that was labbeled 'Spinners end' I screwed the map up and shoved it in my bag, then began to run to that road with dad calling my name behind obviously wondering why I had just shot off like that.
I ran through many roads that all looked the same, checking the street names as I went making sure I wasn't lost at all. Finally I found 'Spinners end' it looked exactly like all the other streets, yet excitment rose in me as I ran down the street looking for the right house.
I Found the house, and ran towards it. I caught my breath whilst I waited for dad, whom had only just made it into Spinners end. When he arrived I knocked on the door and waited, just thinking of what to say to Lucy. Finally I found the perfect words and I still waited for her to open the door.
I knocked again and rung the doorbell which was evidently working because I heard it from indoors. Dad clutched his stitch behind me as I knocked again a little bit impatiently. I mean, she had to be there! She couldn't of just run off!
"Fred she isn't answering!" Dad panted from behind me, "lets just leave OK? Your mother's worried about us, lets just go." Defeated but not wanting to be, I replied:
"Alright then, lets just, go..." I whispered turning around then apparating.
Well that was a little disspointing! But then I thought about it as I arrived outside the burrow, Snape must of moved Lucy before setting me free so I would go to his house thinking she would be there. But really she was somewhere else, safe, from me.
Lucy's point of view
OK, this was weird! I was back at Hogwarts but it seemed totally different, it was as though everything had changed, including Dumbledore's office and that's exactly where I was now or should I maybe say 'dad's office.' I sat opposite the place where dad was sitting proudly in his new seat.
"So what did you want me here earlier for then?" I asked ajusting the strap on my bag
"I thought we'd clear things up about the death of Dumbledore" he shrugged
And with that dad began to explain to me about Dumbledore's death and how Dumbledore had asked to kill him because of some curse thing he had aquired on his hand. Which I guess from now on I should stop calling dad a coward.
"Woah..." I breathed after he had finished
"So now you know the truth so I expect you to stop calling me a coward and also don't mention that to anybody!"
"Why not? Don't you want to be innocent?" I asked but he just glared at me
But then I thought of a rather important question that I was burning to ask dad and this question could possibly change my life. I opened up my bag and pulled out the three photo's I had aquired not so long ago
"Hey dad!" I said because he was looking around the room, admiring his new collection of items he had aquired
"Yes Lucy?" He said in a bored voice, his eye lazily drifting back to my face
"Um, I don't know if you'll be able to answer this but, do you know who this is?" I asked holding up the picture of the woman I had found.
Dad's eyes grew wide in shock, he lept across the table, causing several items to go flying, and grabbed the picture from me as though I was holding a knife ready to cut myself open. I looked up at him and frowned
"What was that for!" I hissed, rubbing my wrist because dad had scratched me whilst grabbing the picture
"H-How did you get this picture!" He stuttured holding onto the photo for dear life
"I found it on your desk before I left Hogwarts not so long ago" I shrugged
"WHY DID YOU TAKE IT!" He roared grabbing me by the collar from across the table
"Because I wanted to keep it safe - "
"LIES!" He paused for a moment but then his eyes pierced into me again, "I never wanted you to find out who your mother was! NEVER!"
"Well why not! I have a right to know!"
"I didn't want you to know who she was and why she is not with us! I just know it would hurt you! I try my hardest to protect you!"
"Wait hold on a minute! Why are we talking about mum when we're supposed to be discussing a bloody picture! Who are you flirting with dad?"
"I'm not flirting with anyone" he breathed, his voice lower and slightly calmer, "that picture is of your mother Lucy. AND DON'T EVER TRY TO STEAL IT AGAIN!"
"I DIDN'T STEAL IT I TRIED TO PROTECT IT! IF IT WAS LEFT HERE IT WOULD OF BEEN STOLEN! NOW STOP SHOUTING AT ME!"
"I'LL STOP SHOUTING AT YOU IF YOU STOP SHOUTING AT ME!"
"Fine!"
We stared at each other for a minute, dad let go of me and I sat down then smoothed down my collar. I think dad really did have a problem with me because we were always fighting, no matter what. If he loved me we wouldn't fight.
"I really wish you'd stop fighting with me!" I whispered, "I don't want to fight with you! I just want you to be my dad. Someone that might actually care for me! Do you want me to be miserable?"
Dad looked away from me, he obviously seemed to be thinking about his actions, over some stupid picture. I mean we were always fighting, right? So I think this should be our last fight.
"Your right" he said suddenly, "we've never got along the way we should do. Even when you were very young I didn't treat you the right way. Your mother said to look after her well yet I have disobeyed her. You deserve a better parent than me."
"Hey! Don't say that! I couldn't live with another parent, it wouldn't feel right without my dad, even though we do fight we need to learn that we do have our faults yet we are irreplaceable."
"Very true...But still I have been lying to you all these years to whom your mother is"
"It doesn't matter, I only need you dad to look after me!" I laughed, he smiled weakly then stood up
"I think that you should head to the Gryffindor dormitories, but if you need me just use that piece of mirror i'm sure you've aquired"
"Alright then, see you later!" I waved then left the headmasters office alone, but then I thought, maybe I could venture around the castle! I mean it was deserted after all!
I hopped down the last step to the way to the headmasters office then looked left and right, just to make sure there were no sign of people, animals e.t.c. I shrugged then found myself skipping down the hallways of Hogwarts (I was a bit old for skipping but who wouldn't if they were on their own around Hogwarts when they're dad's in charge?)
Before I knew it I was on the seventh floor where the room of requirement was hidden. Such good times lived in there...I stood in front of the wall where the room should live and placed a hand on it then thought 'the Half-Blood Princess wishes to enter the room requirement, will you let her do so?' as hard as I could.
Suddenly the door of the room of requirement appeared before my eyes, I gasped then opened it and stepped in. When I entered I saw that it looked much different from the last time I entered it, but nethertheless I was in the room of requirement.
I walked further into the room until my eyes met a bookcase, much like the ones me and dad had back at Spinners end. I was about to rummage through it but then I saw a rather old and tattered book on top, something told me that I had to get it.
I grabbed a stool from nearby then pushed it against the bookcase, I stood on it weakly then reached for the book. I grabbed it just before I fell off the chair and landed on the cold, hard, wooden floor.
"Ouch!" I shrieked pulling out a splinter from my knee (teach me not to pull up my knee high socks to where they should go)
From where I had fallen on the floor I opened up the book I had found 'advanced potion making' was what the title said. But then I realised something, if I had asked the room to let me go in as 'the Half-Blood Princess' that must mean that some of 'the Half-Blood Prince's' (also known as my dad) things must be in here too!
I turned to the first page and read 'property of the Half-Blood Prince' and excitment rushed through me, I finally had the book which Harry had used to come top of the class for potions (well he just beat me...)
I flicked through the pages and found spells like 'levicorpus' and 'sectumsempra' of course I knew what they did because dad had told me about them. In fact! I don't even know why i'm reading this book because I know it like the back of my hand! But then again, I should return it, to it's rightful owner...
I shoved it in my bag then looked around the room some more, it was full of things! Like books (yes more of them, you wouldn't believe how much us Snape's like to read), quills, different types of ink and photo albums which intrigued me the most.
I picked one of them up and turned the pages. They were full of photographs which contained dad when he was younger, me when I was younger and us together. It made me wonder if dad visited the room of requirement at all...
I took a few photo albums (was that stealing? Or did they rightfully belong to the Snape's?) and put them in my bag. I left the room of requirement and watched it fade away. I smiled then ran back to dad's office because I wanted to talk to him and return his book back to him. (Yes I know I had the piece of mirror but I want to talk to him face to face)
When I arrived I simply pushed the gargoyle aside (no password was required) and walked up the stone steps panting as I went until I reached the door. I entered without knocking and saw dad standing with his back to me, but also two other people were by his side, I quickly hid behind a clutter of objects and listened
"You know that your going to have to get rid of your daughter sooner rather than later, don't you?" The woman asked who was standing with dad (it paid to listen to these conversations you know, remember Umbridge's?)
"No matter what you say I am not getting rid of her" dad whispered casually (good he had learnt!)
"You have to Severus! She's no use to you! More use to the dark Lord" the man whispered, his eyes full of hunger
"I'm sure the dark Lord will find someone else to assist him, my daughter is not as strong as you think" (nice comeback dad! And i'm not that strong...)
"Are you trying to disobey the dark Lord?" the woman hissed
"I am the dark Lord's most trusted death eater, don't you think he'll let me off one small order?"
"Psh, you wait!" The man sneered before he left along with the woman
I creeped out from behind the pile of objects and watched dad as he made his way to the window, peering out as though he was about to be attacked. I walked over to him and tapped him on his right shoulder but then quickly moved to his left. Making him spin around to his right then to his left, but I stood on tip toes then put my hands over his eyes
"I know it's you Lucy" he laughed slightly
"Damn! How did you know?!" I cursed as I removed my hands from his eyes then faced him
"Your the only one who'd do that to me"
"Oh well, anyway, I found something that belongs to you!" I rummaged in my bag then pulled out his book and handed it to him, he took it then turned to the front page
"Where did you find it?" He aksed
"I found it in the room of requirement"
"The what?"
"The room of requirement, it's hidden on the seventh floor"
"How can I find it?"
"Well you have to say what you really need, and the door will appear for you."
"What did you say?" He asked curiously
"I said er, well, um...Dad?"
"Yes?"
"You know your the Half-Blood Prince right?"
"Yes"
"Well I sort of got nicknamed the Half-Blood Princess, and I said to find the door 'the Half-Blood Princess wishes to enter the room of requirement' "
"Very creative" he nodded
Then suddenly he walked away from the window and walked to his desk. He pulled out a quill and a bottle of ink, he waited for me to step over and I did so I stood next to him and watched as he added 'ss' to the 'Prince.' I gaped at him as he handed it over to me
"There, it's yours now" He said shoving it into my hands
"M-Mine! But it's y-yours!" I gasped
"It is no longer use to me, so I thought you might like it"
"Er thanks!" I smiled weakly
So there you go then! That's what you get for being nicknamed 'the Half-Blood Princess'
