CHAPTER TWO: Mischief Managed

CHAPTER TWO: Mischief Managed

Later on, after Fred and George fun with pranking Ron was over, the twins and I went to the compartment I had abandoned earlier because the one we had just been in was becoming too crowded. I sat down on one side of the compartment and Fred and George sat on the other side next to each other.

"So, who should we prank next, George?" Fred asked stroking his prank suitcase which had 'Weasley and Weasley' in gold fancy font, the case was slightly battered from where it was carried around all the time but I liked it. It showed their personality incredibly well.

"I don't know...we haven't pranked Snape for a while," George suggested, raising his eyebrow then looking at me mischievously as if to say 'you want to help prank your dad?' I didn't know what to do though, Fred and George were my best friends but Snape was my father...

"George?" I asked frowning but also smiling.

"Yes?" He replied trying to look innocent.

"What are you going to do to my dad?"

"Well, you'll see soon amateur prankster, Lucy!" Fred laughed, trying to sound mysterious.

"Hey!" I said pretending to be annoyed. "I'm just as good at pranking as you too!"

The train ride lasted for a bit longer, I went and got changed into my Hogwarts robes. I only slipped on the white long sleeved shirt, a just above the knees skirt, knee high socks, my Gryffindor tie and a pair of ankle boots.

I went back into the compartment where Fred and George were and sat down, they too were in their Hogwarts uniform but it looked a little small now, both the arms on their school jumpers were too short and their shirts were un-tucked; they both looked so messy. But what was the point in buying new uniform when they only had one year left?

"Someone made an effort," I nodded at their clothes, they looked at each other smirked as if this was going to be the last year they would ever rebel.

"Yes we did. We call it 'last year at Hogwarts and we don't care'," Fred winked, giving his brother a high five. They would forever be companions in pranking.

"Fair enough, it sucks though this will be the last time we see both of you every day, I think everyone's going to miss your pranks. Nobody will ever replace you two!" I pointed out a little sadly.

"No because me and Fred are the best pranksters Hogwarts have ever seen. But we do still thank Messers Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail and Prongs. We could not have done it without their map."

"Are you talking about the Marauders map? Because doesn't Harry have it now?" I asked a bit confused.

"Yes he does, we gave it to him, we felt that his needs were greater than ours," Fred shrugged. "Besides, it was a good thing to do. We know it back to front and didn't need it anymore."

"That's so sweet of you guys," I admitted in a tone of awe.

Suddenly the train pulled up at Hogsmeade station and everyone hopped off of the train. Me, Fred and George got in one of the carriages and it set off to the castle, pulling itself as always. Soon we were all in the Great Hall again, we sat down at the Gryffindor table and waited for the first years to come through and be sorted into one of the four houses.

McGonagall walked through the Great Hall doors with a scroll in her hands and a bunch of scared first years trailing behind her nervously, they looked around at all the tables. When they made it to the front McGonagall called out their names individually and the sorting hat sorted them into their houses.

After every new student had been sorted into their house, the sorting ceremony was over and McGonagall removed the stool and the old patched and frayed hat that only saw the light of day once a year. This would be Fred and George's last sorting ceremony. Dumbledore got out of his seat and began his usual speech.

"Hello, everyone. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday. First I must introduce a few staff changes, Dolores Umbridge will be our new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher — " Dumbledore was about to continue but Umbridge cleared her throat and Dumbledore's voice trailed off, he stepped out the way politely and Umbridge made it to the front.

As soon as she began to speak I thought I might slip in to a coma. I glanced over to where dad was and he didn't seem to pleased either, he was scowling at Umbridge, hatred filled his black eyes. I couldn't blame him, even though he wanted the DADA job I could see he wanted it even more now because this Umbridge person was getting on his nerves as well as everybody else's.

When Umbrige's speech finished only a few people clapped, and clapped weakly, Dumbledore filled us all in on a few more pieces of information then left for his seat and the feast began, I was glad to because I was starving. I could see Fred and George hadn't bothered to wait and were already eating, not one word of Umbridge's speech had sunk in.

Ron's plate was already pilled sky high and he was already eating as much as he could. I tried to hide my laughter as he attempted to eat everything. Hermione however seemed to be disgusted at Ron's actions.

"Ron! That's disgusting!" Hermione voiced her disgust with a sneer.

"It's food! There is only one place it can go!" He replied through a mouthful of food.

"Ronald!" I joined in, shielding myself with my hands as if I was going to get hit by the contents of his mouth.

"Don't worry about it, Lucy, we might put another spider in his food tomorrow and see if it stops him eating," Fred smirked, suddenly Ron dropped his knife and fork and they landed with a clatter on the table, everyone nearby erupted in laughter at his reaction

"Problem solved," George shrugged and continued to eat his food.

"Or as we would usually say Mischief Managed," Fred pointed out wisely.

After the food was cleared from all the plates everyone made their way up to their dormitories and sat down for a bit and relaxed, I sat down in the middle of Fred and George in the common room and pulled out a potions book. That was before George inhaled deeply and pointed at the book I was holding dramatically.

"No! Lucy no! You've broken the rule! No Slytherin items allowed! Quickly Fred! Dispose of it before we're infected from a serious case of Snapey-itus!" George screamed.

Suddenly Fred snatched the book from my hands and ran out of the common room and I chased after him through the entrance to the common room and down the moving staircases.

"Fred! Stop! I need that book for tomorrow's potions class!" I yelled to Fred who was now sliding down banisters.

"No! It is infected with Slytherin germs! We must dispose of it immediately!" Fred yelled back to me as I continued to chase him.

He was in the entrance hall now and was shoving the door open so he could get to the dungeons, he ran along the bridge and through another set of grand double doors. He turned left and ran through a small archway and then began to run down the steps to the dungeons.

When he got to the bottom he looked right and left quickly before running left, but before he could Snape opened the door of the potions classroom and had a look of disapproval on his face.

"Weasley what are you doing here?" Dad asked

"Disposing of this potions book from the Gryffindor common room, Lucy was carrying something that is full of Slytherin germs and should be disposed of immediately!" Fred admitted just as I caught up, he obviously didn't care about what sort of trouble he was getting himself into.

"Mr Weasley you are being very foolish, now hand the book back to Lucy and head back to your common room," dad hissed

Fred slowly extended his arm to me so I could take the book then he turned back to dad. "Cool! No punishment! See you later, Snape!" Fred waved, I whacked my head on the book at his stupid comment.

"First of all it's Professor Snape to you and second twenty points  shall be deducted from Gryffndor and if you don't move now you have a detention," Dad smirked slightly.

Fred groaned then slouched up the stairs, I waved goodbye to dad before making my own way up the stairs, when I heard dad shut the door I turned to Fred. "Fred, are you that dimwitted!" I yelled

"Obviously!"

I hissed at him and walked up the staircase, he was obviously playing dumb, even though it was annoying at the same time it was funny, we walked back to the common room in silence and went to our dormitories silently, I had a feeling Fred was going to pull a prank on me tomorrow...
