A young five year old George Harrison grabbed his mother's hand as they walked down the street. Today was George's first day of school.
"Are you ready for your first day sweetheart?" His mother Louise asked.
George squeezed his mother's hand and shook his head. "Not really."
Louise frowned. "Why not?"
"What if the other kids don't like me?"
Louise sighed. "Don't worry I know you will do great."
The two continued their stroll along the street until they reached the entrance doors of the school.
"Are you sure you have everything you need?" Louise asked. George nodded.
"Well Georgie I can't believe this. You're getting so big!" Louise started to tear up.
George smiled and hugged his mother. "Wish me luck!" George released from his mother and made his way up the steps. But when he reached the top he turned around and blew his mother a kiss. "Bye!"
George slowly walked into his classroom and observed the place. All of the kids were sitting down in desks and doing their work. The kids were also talking and mingling.
George must have been standing in the doorway for a while because the teacher walked over. She was short and looked friendly.
"Hello there are you lost? What's your name?"
George immediately started to get shy.
"George Harrison." He looked down sheepishly.
The teacher smiled. "Hi George! I'm your teacher Mrs. Williams. I know you will have a fun year here! Let me show you were you sit."
Mrs. Williams walked away and George hesitantly followed.
She stopped at a desk near the back next to a boy with dark hair and brown eyes.
"George you will be sitting here for the first half of the year. This is Pete Best." She pointed to the boy and he smiled politely and waved.
"Some of the kids are colouring but you can do something else if you like."
George nodded and Mrs. Williams walked away to help another student. George sat down in his desk and started to draw a picture of his family. He had a mother, father, two older brothers, and an older sister. George was content drawing quietly by himself but Pete started to ask him questions.
"Why are you so quiet?" Pete asked with evident disgust in his voice.
George could feel his face get warm and all he wanted to do was hide. George shrugged. Pete continued with his uncomfortable questions. "Did you ever learn to talk?"
George tried to ignore him and continue with his colouring. "Are you too stupid to talk?"
Pete then crumbled up a piece of paper and threw it at George's head. "Say Something!"
George just continued with his drawing.
"You're a freak." Pete spoke with disgust.
George sighed and put his head down.
The day went by slowly for George. School itself wasn't so bad, but the other kids acted as if he was the strangest kid on the planet. They would often just glance at him oddly and George felt like he wanted to run and hide.
Lunchtime eventually came. When all the kids got to the cafeteria they ran to their own tables with their friends. George sat down by himself at a table near the window.
When he was starting to unpack his food from his lunchbox a group of tall intimidating kids came over and told him to get up and move. George was to scared to say no so he obliged.
There were no tables to sit at so he had to sit on the ground with his back against a wall far away from everyone.
George sighed and started to munch on his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Then he pulled out a book from his backpack so he didn't look lonely sitting there alone and so no one mean would bother him.
Despite his age of five years George could still read pretty well. Right now he was reading one of the Winnie the Pooh books. It was his favourite.
"Watcha readin?" George was interupted by a friendly voice. George looked up to see a small boy with bright blue eyes. His hair was messy and his two front teeth were missing.
The boy sat down next to him and peered over his shoulder. "Woah I love Winnie the Pooh too!"
George smiled for the first time that day.
"Tigger is my favorite but I also like Piglet too!" The boy giggled.
"Who's your favorite?"
George realized he hasn't said word yet. George looked down embarrassed at himself.
The boy smiled. "You don't say much." He paused. "I like you!"
George smiled. Than the boy laughed "I'm so silly. I haven't even told you my name yet! I'm Richard but you can call me Ritchie."
George softly smiled and quietly spoke "Hi Ritchie. My name is George."
Ritchie giggled "George sure is a mouthful. How about I call you Geo instead?"
George nodded. Then Ritchie exclaimed "This calls for a celebration!"
Ritchie took out of bag of cookies from his lunchbox and handed one to George. "To new buddies. My dad says this is called a toast but that doesn't make any sense because I can't eat it"
George giggled. "You were right earlier. You are silly."
That was the start of it all. From then on George and Ritchie became inseparable. They grew up together and shared many memories. From riding their bikes all across town, to swimming in the lake, to relaxing and playing videogames.
Years past and the boys grew. But so did their feelings. Somewhere between the laughing for no reason, stupid arguments, and making fun of one another they fell in love.
George and Ritchie were seventeen and it was a warm summer day and the boys were spending the day at the beach. They were there with their new friends that they recently met. John and Paul.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney were amazing people. They even gave Ritchie's new nickname, Ringo.
The four of them played a few rounds of beach volleyball, buried eachother in the sand, made sand castles, and played games in the water.
Soon it was sunset and the boys were sitting on their towels and talking. Paul was telling a story about something that happened to him as a kid, but George was completely spacing out. He also made quick glances at Ringo.
Over the past few months George had completely fallen in love with his bestfriend.
George needed to tell Ringo. And today was the day. He had to tell him.
"George are you listening?" Paul asked snapping his fingers in front of George.
"Huh? Oh I guess I wasn't. I'm sorry." George said blushing.
"Are you okay? You've been kinda off lately." John said looking concerned.
"Um yeah I'm fine." George said hoping they would believe him.
Ringo could tell something was up. "Are you sure you are okay?"
Then George blurted out "Ringo could I talk to you alone?"
John and Paul looked shocked but not as shocked as Ringo. "Um okay." He replied nervously.
The two got up and started to walk on the shoreline of the beach with the water hitting their feet.
"You think he will tell him?" Paul asked John.
"Dear God I hope so. It is so tiring to see them hopelessly in love with eachother but not officially a couple."
John groaned.
"Tell me about it." Paul replied.
George and Ringo walked in silence for a while.
George was getting extremely anxious and nervous, he didn't know what to do.
He looked at Ringo and studied his features. From his blue eyes to his nose to his lips. George tried not to stare but it didn't help that Ringo didn't have a shirt on.
George and Ringo walked until the sun started to set causing the sky to become a beautiful array of purples, pinks, and oranges.
"It starting to get dark. We should head back now." Ringo said turning around.
"Wait!" George grabbed Ringo's hand causing the both of them to blush. " I still need to tell you something."
Ringo squeezed George's hand. "You can tell me anything."
George took a deep breath. Well here goes nothing. "Ritchie I have feelings for you."
Ringo looked surprised but didn't say a word. George started to panic and ramble. "I-It's okay if y-you don't feel the same. I j-just had to tell you or it would drive me insane."
George let go of Ringo's hand.
"Geo-"
"It's j-just that you d-drive me insane every single day. And I know t-that we have known e-eachother since we were five. A-and you probably don't feel the same way but there has always been something about you."
"Geo listen-"
"God Richard ever since that first day we met and you told me your favourite Winnie the Pooh characters, I've been head over heels in love with you."
"Listen George-"
"Ritchie I said it. I'm completely in love with you. And there is nothing you can say or do to change that. If you stop being my friend I would understand that but I will always be in love with you."
"George listen!" Ringo cupped George's cheeks and looked into his eyes.
"George please listen" Ringo said softly and slowly leaned in touching their lips together.
George was surprised at first but kissed him back and put his arms around Ringo's waist. Their lips moved in sync and they could feel eachother's heart beats through their bare chests.
They were in absolute bliss. They could feel butterflies throughout their entire body.
George pulled away but pecked Ringo on the lips. "You didn't let me finish."
Ringo giggled and rubbed his thumbs across George's blushing cheeks.
"You can tell me later but I have something to tell you."
George tightened his grip around Ringo's waist. "What is it?"
Ringo gazed into George's eyes.
"I'm in love with you too."
George smiled. "Really?"
Ringo giggled. "Yes Geo!" He said it in an obvious tone.
George kissed Ringo's cheek and let his lips linger. Then he grabbed Ringo's hand and chuckled.
"Now we can go back."
John and Paul were still sitting on their towels. Paul looked at his phone and said. "You think they are okay? It's been awhile and it got dark. What if they're in trouble?"
John looked up to see George and Ringo walking toward them with their hand interlocked.
"Oh trust me they're definitely fine." He smirked.
"How can you be so sure?" Paul asked but then gasped when he looked up from his phone. "Oh my God Finally!"
John stood up. "It's about time you two got together. It was starting to get frustrating how in love you two were but didn't say anything."
George and Ringo smiled and George pecked Ringo's cheek.
"Aww." Paul said. "Can I be the best man at the wedding?"
George and Ringo started to blush heavily.
"What why you?!" John asked angrily.
"Because I called it first!" Paul said sassily.
John groaned but got an idea. "How about first one to the car gets to be the best man?"
As soon as Paul nodded John broke out into a sprint to the car. "Ugh Lennon!" Paul yelled running after John.
Ringo giggled. "What will we do with them?"
George shrugged. "Don't know. All I know is that I am in love with a great person."
Ringo blushed and smirked. "Oh really?"
George nodded. "Yeah he happens to be holding my hand"
"You're so cheesy." Ringo grinned.
George leaned into Ringo so that their faces were centimeters apart.
"Come on admit that you love it."
Ringo looked away. "Never."
George put his hand on Ringo's cheek and firmly kissed him.
Ringo couldn't help but kiss him back. George put his hand his Ringo's hair and started to gently pull on it causing Ringo to softly let out a moan. That was all George needed.
"Ha I knew it!" George said pulling back.
Ringo blushed and looked down. He took George's hand. "Let's go. John and Paul are probably waiting on us."
George smirked. "Okay. But I won't forget this."
Ringo sighed but it turned into a giggle. "Me neither."
