John and Paul walked home in silence, with their hands locked together. Paul's house was a few houses away so it wasn't a very long walk. When the two of them stopped at a stop sign and looked for cars, Paul quietly whispered. "John I'm so sorry."
The two of them crossed the street. "Why are you apologizing to me?" John asked. Paul shrugged. "I don't know. I guess I'm just sorry that you had to see all that."
John and Paul reached Paul's house. "It's okay. I'm just glad neither of you got hurt." John dug into his back pocket and took out the spare key Paul had given him. "Just try to be a little more careful alright?"
Paul nodded.
John and Paul walked into the kitchen and Paul sat down on chair. He gently touched his swollen eye and hissed in pain. John sighed. "Yup that's going to be painful in the morning. Let me get you an ice pack."
John went into the fridge and came back with a cold ice pack in his hands. "This should help." John kneeled down where Paul was sitting. He was kneeling down so close to him, that he was eye level with him and their faces were inches apart. "This might hurt but I promise it will definitely help."
John gently took Paul's jaw and turned his head toward him. With his other hand he softly placed the ice pack on Paul's eye. Paul flinched and let out a small cry of pain.
"Shhh Shhh it's okay. It's okay." John consoled.
Even with John's sweet and soft voice, Paul grimaced in pain. "God that hurts." He bit his tongue trying not to scream in pain.
John removed the ice pack. "You're doing great Paul." He smiled.
He gently placed it back on his eye, it didn't hurt as much as the last time.
"Is the ice pack starting to numb the pain?" John asked looking into Paul's hazel eyes. Paul nodded.
"I knew it would help. You should listen to me more." John smirked.
Paul rolled his eyes. Usually he would laugh at John's dumb jokes but he just frowned sadly.
John noticed this immediately. "Hey what's wrong?"
Paul sighed. "Everything John. How could I do something like that to someone I love? He probably never wants to speak to me again. What if he leaves and that was the last time I'd ever seen him?"
John took Paul's hand reassuringly causing the both of them to blush. "You'll both come around. I know you will."
Paul took his hand away. "I-I just, I don't know. I was so angry at the fact that he was leaving that I took my anger out on him. It was wrong. And I feel so stupid for it."
"I think he knows that too. You both just need some time to process your thoughts." John smiled.
Paul took John's hand and intertwined their fingers. "Thank you. For everything."
"That's what I'm here for." John leaned in so their lips were only about two centimeters apart. Paul bit his lip and rested their foreheads together.
John couldn't take the tension any longer. He delicately pressed his lips to Paul's. Paul kissed back passionately causing John to drop the ice pack. John placed one hand on Paul's cheek and the other on his waist. Paul ran his hands through John's hair. Their lips moved together in motion and when they were done, they were left totally breathless.
Paul blushed heavily. "Man, I should get hurt more often." John smirked. "Please no." He laughed.
George himself was not having a good time. George tried to wipe the blood off of his nose in the bathroom but it took him forever. He wasn't really used to doing it by himself, because Ringo was always there to help him.
It took George twenty minutes to clean the blood and get the blood stains off his shirt. Then George trudged to a closet and took out a pillow and some blankets. He sighed and walked to the couch. He gently put the pillow down and layed down on the couch. Then he pulled the blankets over him.
For hours he tossed and turned. He was uncomfortable and freezing cold. He also wasn't used to sleeping alone. He was used to the warmth of Ringo sleeping right next to him. He was used to the soothing sounds of Ringo's light snores. He was used to securely putting his arm around Ringo. He was just used to him being there.
George sighed and rubbed his eyes. He tried to close them once again but it felt like nothing was working.
But George did eventually fall asleep for about less than an hour. He woke up to the the sharp cries of the baby.
George groaned and covered his ears trying to drown out the sound of Dhani's cries.
But the cries stopped abruptly. George sat up curious as to why the cries stopped suddenly. Then he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. George quickly layed back down and pretended to be asleep.
Ringo walked down the stairs with Dhani in his arms. He stopped at the bottom and frowned. He saw that George was sleeping on the couch and his hair was all messy. He had bags under his eyes and it seemed like he hadn't slept a wink. The blankets were thrown everywhere and he had one hand gripping the pillow tightly. George was wearing the same clothes from before, meaning he did not change into his pajamas. He also had a big unhappy from on his face.
Ringo sighed and walked into the kitchen. He reached into the fridge and took out the baby's formula. While he was feeding the baby George perked up his head. The sight made his heart drop. It sounds crazy but George already missed Ringo.
Ringo but the bottle into the sink and George put his head back down. Ringo walked to the stairs and turned around. Once again it sounds crazy but Ringo already missed George.
Ringo walked upstairs and put Dhani to bed in his crib. Then he had the sudden erge to see if George was alright.
He quietly tiptoed downstairs. George was still there sleeping not so soundly. Ringo saw that George had no blankets covering him. He must have kicked them off in his sleep. Ringo took one of the couch and gently placed it on top of George.
George fluttered his eyes open. "Ritchie?" Ringo smiled sadly. "Hey."
George didn't know what to say. Ringo sat down on the edge of the couch. "You don't have to sleep here anymore. You obviously can't sleep here and I don't want that."
George shook his head. "No I deserve it."
Ringo played with his thumbs. "I'm still upset with you." George sat up and quietly said. "I know. I'm mad with myself too."
Ringo made eye contact with George for the first time since their argument. George rubbed his eyes. "I feel like an idiot. I thought that it would be easier to leave people by pushing them away. I thought If I made them hate me it would be easier for them to say goodbye."
Ringo took George's hand. "Don't say that. We could never hate you. We all love you and you mean more than the world to us. You couldn't stop that even if you tried."
George smiled. "I love you." Ringo squeezed his hand. "I love you more."
George started to lean in but stopped himself knowing Ringo was still upset.
Ringo smirked and rolled his eyes. "Yes. You can kiss me." George laughed and pressed his lips firmly against Ringo's in a passionate kiss. They both smiled widely into it.
"Geo you are so stupid." Ringo chuckled.
"You are even more stupid for falling in love with me." George smiled and took his husband's hand and walked upstairs to the bedroom to finally sleep peacefully.
"Be foolishly in love, because love is all there is."
