Chapter 3: The Truth Catches Up
//PATRICKS POV\\ ((SURPRISE))
"Patrick!" The Master called. "I've got a new trainee!"
I trudged out of the room I was in. Being an angel wasn't that bad. I am a Guardian angel.
What people fail to understand is that, there are three different types of angels. There's Nursing Angels. They watch over the sick, and injured, and nurse them back to health if needed. Then, there's Knight Angels. They guard the gates and make sure nothing gets in, or out without The Master's approval. And then there's us guardian angels. We protect people. We get to go to Earth and help them.... Save them. In some cases, we get to stay, and become human again. That's the advantage of a guardian angel. If you're needed, you get to stay. First, the only person who sees you is the person you are assigned to, then, you begin to be noticed by the rest of the world until you're human again.
I tugged at the collar of my leather jacket as I walked down the wide corridor. You see, Heaven isn't the stereotypical white walls, white roof, white floors. It's more of a regular place. Wear what you want, Decorate how you want.
I reached the small clearing where The Master stood with a teenage girl. She had Long brown hair that swooped over her left eye. Her visible eye was icy blue. She had on a black tank top and short shorts with red converse. I gave a little smile and acknowledge them.
The Master gave me a look of approval. "Patrick, this is Logan. I need you to train her and help her get her wings." He stated. I waved at her with a smile. She waved back, her timid gaze scanning my body.
The Master turned to Logan. "This is Patrick. He is one of our finest Guardian Angels. I trained him myself. I have high hopes for you, young Cadet." He smiled before spinning on his heel and strutting off.
"Hello, Logan." I smiled. I stuck my hand out for her to shake.
She placed her shaking hand in mine and gave it a weak shake shake. He expression showed fear. "H-hi."
"So.... how'd you end up here?" I asked. We're all dead. She had to die in some way.
"Car accident." She replied. Her shoulders tensed at the mention of it. She looked down biting her lip.
"Don't feel bad. I was shot and killed in my house." I told her, causing her to look up at me in shock. I simply nodded, ensuring that I was telling the truth.
She seemed to loosen up as I explained things to her. "One thing about us," I started. "We do not sleep. Technically, were sleeping eternally, so we do not need it." I explained as I walked her into the files. Aka the biggest room in this place. "This is the file room. Once you get your wings, you get your own cabinet. One at a time, you will get files of people that need protecting. Lucky for you, mine is close enough to the floor to reach it." I lead her to the cabinet marked 'Guardian Patrick Stump'. I pulled the cabinet open and snatched the file. I took one glance and dropped it. Why would he need my help?
"Patrick?" I heard Logan ask. I looked at her. Her worried gaze rested on my eyes. "Is everything okay?"
I gave her a worried look. "Th-that file. It's my son." I stammered. "He needs help."
I looked down at the file once more and stared in horror at the black lettering, reading, Declan Stump.
