Taehyung 03

Taehyung climbs up over the fence that they put up after Grimm jumped. A fence they put up to hopefully discourage students with thoughts of jumping. Fat lot that does. Maybe you should target why students would want to jump rather than physically preventing them from jumping. Spend the money on the guidance program or something. But the school had to protect their "reputation".

After Grimm jumped, the school went through all the bullshit of assemblies which talked about suicide, The trusted adult shpeel, and how you shouldn't hesitate to tell one of the teachers your problems. Ya, all that bullshit. The school was putting up a face, wanting people to forget the newspapers that read: STUDENT JUMPS FROM SCHOOL ROOF AND DIES!?! What High School are Doing Wrong.

But what could the school have done for Grimm anyways? Who am I kidding, nobody in the school gave two shits about what was going on with Grimm. The only thing that they did was spread rumors and create a hostile environment for him. Even after all those assemblies, nothing has changed, but everything has changed at the same time. Well, only for Taehyung.

"You know I'm always here if you want to talk."Grimm says joining Taehyung on the roof, and lies down next to him.

Taehyung was in a bad mood, he was called to a meeting with the guidance councillor. It was about his university scholarship offer. The university decided to withdraw their offer for what seemed like no reason in particular.

Taehyung says silent, and continues to stare up at the open sky.

"It's just so unfair Grimm, it's just so unfair."

Grimm places a towel over Taehyung's eyes, and Taehyung allows himself to cry

Taehyung gets over the fence, and plops down on the narrow strip between the edge of the fence, and nothingness. Feet dangling... free in the wind. Grimm was the one person that Taehyung could be real with. To all his other classmates, Taehyung was the 4D quicky, laughable guy who always could put a smile on your face. But with Grimm, that was when Taehyung let himself be vulnerable, and now that Grimm is gone, Tae just bottles up all of his emotions. And although Tae felt like he was about to burst... but sitting on the edge, where if he shifted his weight ever so slightly he could plunge to his death, he felt the most calm he had ever felt in his life.

After Grimm jumped, all that Taehyung felt was... well, he felt nothing. He felt numb. Depression,  self harm, suaside always felt like something so far away... something they always used joke about. But he didn't notice how it slipped into more and more of their conversations. How it no longer seemed to hold that airy lightness when Grimm was talking about such things. How when Grimm showed up with a new bruise, and he said he felt like dying, he meant it.

Taehyung sits, in his new found calmness, and thinks.

Did Grimm know what he left behind? That he left behind a broken best friend? Someone who was willing to accept him as soon as he had gotten over his first reaction. Taehyung didn't know how to react to someone coming out. He had never dealt with that situation before. He was confused. His whole life he had been told that gay people are like diseases, but here his best friend, who was an amazing person, said he was gay. He had no idea how to react. He wanted to support his best friend, but everything their mothers taught them rushed through his head leaving him unresponsive when Grimm first confessed. However, none of that matters. Grimm left without knowing that someone cares. And it hurt Taehyung because he wanted Grimm to know that he cared. But it's too late.

"Well, Grimm," Taehyung thinks. "I doubt you would have left if you knew that I am here right now thinking of you. I doubt you would have left if you had spoken to me one last time. I doubt that you would have left me on my own if you knew how broken I would be at your death."

The sound of rushing feet, and clamoring voices draws near. What was just a faint distant hum grows louder as a stampede of feet make their way up the stairs. Taehyung sees a couple of students rush outside. He hears a voice through a walkie talkie, "Student... on roof... get mat...asap" Slowly Taehyung stands up, and turns just as the door that connects to the stair case opens. He sees the guidance consoler panting, and out of breath. The same woman as who was in the room with Grimm and his mom and did nothing. A bunch of students push their way onto the roof.

"Don't move Taehyung. I know that you have been going through a lot with Grimm being gone. But Grimm wouldn't want this... so how about you climb back over the fence, and we can have a nice talk in my office over tea. I mean you're a happy person right? All of your classmates care about you. They say such good things about you."

No. My classmates only love the version of me that I put on for them. But you're right on one thing. This isn't what Grimm would have wanted. He wouldn't want me to jump. But what Grimm did is not what I wanted. I didn't want him to jump. Grimm would not be happy with me at all... but you know what Grimm? I'm too fucking tired for this shit. You were the one who helped me sort through all the crap. And now I have no one

And with that Taehyung takes a step backwards, smiling as the wind rushes through his hair.

Looks like we can catch up Grimm.

A/n

Hello lovely human beans~

Okaaaaaaaay, and that is a wrap on Taehyung's short story. How did you like it? Was it good? What could I have improved on so I can try to correct it, and maybe apply corrections to my other shorts.

My goal is to make a reader cry at least at one point in one of the shorts.

Also, I think that my updating schedule for this book will be that I update all three of a member's chapter 3 days in a row, but I will post a short either every week, or every other week. I don't know, I'm going to see how stressful Grade 12 is, and then we can figure things out from there.

Remember, you are never in it alone. I'm here for you, BTS is here for you, LOVE YOURSELF!
