August 6th

Within the past two week, April and Brielle hung out often. The ladies went for a morning coffee before work and eat out for brunch a few times. They both agreed that having each other's company was nice.

Brielle's long brown hair was tied in a low messy bun, April's thick black hair in a high ponytail.

"Your apartment is beautiful."

The girls had just entered Brielle's apartment. Leo was patiently waiting for them at the kitchen counter. April took a seat next to Leo at Brielle's marble top counter. Brielle headed straight to the kitchen, grabbing her Moscato and Leo's tea from the fridge.

"Thanks."

Brielle poured herself and April a glass and passed Leo a cup of his herbal tea. He gives a small thanks in a whisper, as April and Brielle continue their conversation. Angel comes running up to Leo. He smiles at the puppy before picking her up and sitting her in his lap. Angel barked happily and sat comfortably in between his thighs. The blue clad turtle expression softens as he turned to Brielle and April. He paid no attention to their conversation but took in the details of the slightly shorter human.

Brielle's long brunette hair seemed to flow and fall in all the right places as she talked. The way her eyes sparkled when she talked about subjects that interest her and the calmness that surrounded her drew Leonardo in. It was as if he was falling from a plane, watching the clouds and blue sky pass him.

"Leo, Are you okay?"

Leo snapped out of his daze, the two female humans looking up at him.

"Oh-yeah. I'm fine, just thinking." The blue clad turtle said, his right-hand retracting to his neck, nervously rubbing it.

"About what?" Brielle asked playfully

'You.' The turtle thought, but never said. Instead, he responded with

"It's getting late. I should.... I should be heading home; my brothers will be expecting me."

Leo's eyes could not meet Brielle's, whose was filled with confusion and concern, April smirked lightly and gave Leo a teasing grin as he retracted his eyes from the floor.

"Alright.... Good night, Blue." Brielle said with a soft smile.

Leo smiled in return

"Night, Fearless." April said teasingly, as if she was hinting to something.

"Good night ladies."

Leonardo's exit is swift, he was gone almost as fast as he came. April took the opportunity to turn to Brielle, who was still looking at balcony where Leo had left.

"So, you and Blue?"

Brielle turned to her in surprise. The balconette grinned at her surprised face.

"I don't know what your talking about." Brielle said calmly

Her face twisted and formed in a convincing way. If April wasn't such a confident person, she might have believed her.

"Oh come on, I've seen the way you two look at each other. It's sweet."

Brielle blushes slightly and heads back to the kitchen, April on her tail. April gives her a look. Within the week that the two had known each other, they grew very close.

"I mean.... I'd be lying if I hadn't thought about it...."

April smirks, her hands finding her hips buckling them out. Brielle's blush deepened as she turned towards the fridge in search of something to change the topic.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Okay! Okay! But you have to admit that the Divergent series was good."

April and Brielle sat on the floor of Brielle's movie room, the girls laughed loudly. April had agreed to stay the night at Brielle's penthouse after running home to grab her necessities for the night.

"The Hunger Games was way better!" April argued

"No way! It was like Twilight, but no supernatural.!" Brielle argued back

April gasped and looked at her

"Take that back!"

"Never!"

Suddenly Brielle is knocked in the head by a pillow. April laughs at Brielle's confused face but is quickly recaptured when Brielle throws it back at her. The two break into a pillow fight, which ends around ten minutes later. Laughter fills the room as the two girls try to catch their breath.

"Let's go get ice cream." Brielle says

April looks at her and then checks the time on her phone.

"It's 11:30, I don't think any ice cream stores are open."

"I know a place."

Within fifteen minutes, Brielle and April reached the ice cream store Brielle mentioned. It's exterior was simple, it was a small white brick corner shop off of Main Street. It huge vintage yellow LED sign that read 'Sunny Side Up' was warm and welcoming. Inside, April eyes lit up in pleasure. The small store made well use of its space, combining an old school parlor with the modern tech theme made the shop feel lively.

"Wow! How have I never heard of this place?"

"It's fairly new, just opened a few months ago."

Walking up to the counter, a girl no older than nineteen was working the counter. Her long blonde highlighted hair was pulled into a high ponytail, her black visor covering her fly away strands of hair.

"Hi Ms. Beckett! It's nice to see you, oh who's your friend?"

"Holly, this is my friend April. April this is Holly, her twin brother William is my assistant."

"Hi, it's nice to meet you." April says, shaking the young girls' hand politely

"What can I get for you today?"

"I have my usual."

Brielle turns to April, who was looking over the menu. After a few minutes she turns her attention back to Holly.

"I'll have whatever she's having."

Brielle laughs lightly and hands Holly her credit card.

"Oh, I can pay for mine."

"Oh, it's fine, I really don't mind."

Deciding not to argue with her, April smiles

"Thank you."

Brielle smiles brightly and guides April towards a booth near the back. It was a relatively quiet night, only two other tables were in use.

"Okay, so I have a confession." April begins

Brielle turns her head to her, motioning for her to continue.

"When Leo first told me about you, I assumed you to be someone who would try and manipulate him."

Brielle's face shows her shock. After a few seconds, Brielle smiles at her.

"I understand, Leo is like family to you. And in his case, I know his family cannot afford that. So, I'm not upset with that accusation, but I hope I have proven otherwise."

"Absolutely, I just felt guilt not telling you."

"Well, I appreciate that."

A few moments of comfortable silence pass by, before Holly brings their ice cream.

"Alright, here's two coffee favored scoops of ice cream."

"Thank you Holly."

Brielle hands the girl a twenty-dollar bill before she walks away.

"Okay this is really good." April says in delight

"Oh, I'm glad."  Brielle responds happily

"It's been a long time since I've had this much fun. Thank you, April." Brielle admits

"I've had fun too."
