"C'mon, (y/n)!!!" yelled my little sister Mabel in excitement.

I let out a small chuckle. "I appreciate the offer, really, but I can't. I'm really busy right now."

"But we haven't seen you in more than a year, we miss you!!!" she said while pouting.

I sighed. "I miss you guys too, I really do wish I could fly over..."

"C'mon, (y), Stan and Ford have been dying to meet you! Can't you do something to clear your schedule for a few days...?" asked by little brother Dipper, who was Mabel's twin.

"You know if I could I would, but it's not that easy...!" I replied, making them both let out a sigh of disappointment.

However, Mabel quickly grew a smile. "Well, if you somehow do manage to get a few days off, call us, ok?"

I nodded. "I will. I love you guys!"

"We love you too!" they both said in union before I hung up, turning off my tablet and leaning against my chair while taking in a deep breath.

I heard the door open making me turn to look. My roommate/best friend Chase came in. "Hey (y)!"

I had known Chase for a little over a year now. My old roommate was kicked out of campus and they transferred him over, and we instantly became best friends.

He had royal blue hair with light blue tips, dark brown eyes, tannish skin, and a few freckles above his nose. He had black glasses, and would always wear his usual blackish blue scarf.

I gave him a small smile. "Hey Chase. How was class?"

"Ugh, absolutely ridiculous. They changed the teacher and she had no idea what we were doing." He explained, obviously annoyed, and I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Sounds irritating."

"It was." He replied. "What about you?"

I sighed. "I've been working on a project for this week, plus I have another do next week, plus studying for three tests and four quizzes."

"What?!? Didn't you have next week free?!?" he asked a bit surprised.

"I did." I started. "But things started piling up one after the other and now I'm gonna have to cancel."

He shook his head. "Girl, it's been ages since you took a break, and you need it!"

"I don't-" I tried to explain myself, but was interrupted when he opened the door to leave.

"I'm gonna make sure you get some days off, sister, for your own good!" With that, he left.

Goddamn you, Chase.

I rolled my eyes and stretched as I stood up. As much as I wanted a break, I didn't have time for one. I took my bag and threw it over my shoulder, looking at the picture on my nightstand of my two siblings and me.

"I'll be home soon, I promise..."

The day finally came to an end as I got to my room from work. However, when I entered, I was blinded by a sudden explosion on my face. "AH!"

"Congrats, (y)!!!"

"Chase?!?" I asked as my vision became clear. I saw my roommate holding a tiny confetti gun which had exploded on my face. "What the hell, man?!?"

He laughed. "Sorry. But guess what?!?"

"Adam asked you out?" I asked a bit teasingly as I put my bag on my bed.

He blushed with a huff. "Shut up."

I laughed, then turned to face him to see him holding an envelope. I tilted my head. "What's that?"

"So it took a lot of convincing, but I managed to convince the principal to give you a one month break!!!" He said smiling brightly.

My eyes widen. "You're kidding...!"

He shook his head while offering the letter. "Nope, got it right here, sister!"

I quickly opened it. This was the principal's signature!!! A big smile grew on my face as I wrapped Chase in a tight hug. "Chase you amazing person!!!"

"Yeah I know, I'm amazing." he pulled away. "You better start packing, your family's waiting!"

I didn't hesitate. I began grabbing most of my belonging, placing them on my luggage.

I can't wait to see them...!
