The fireworks could be heard popping and crackling distantly. There was a sound of a crowd cheering distantly.

"He said he was building something. That it was all for us." El said before looking at me.

"What the fuck have I ever done to him." I answer looking confused.

"Building something... Is he talking about the flayed?" Max asked.

"He must be." Nancy answers. I just sit there confused.

"So, he's building an army, just like we thought." Lucas states.

"Yeah, but he's not building this army to spread." Mike points out.

"He's building it to stop the two girls." Will said pointing to me and El.

"Last year, El and Tess closed the gate on him. I have a feeling that really pissed him off." Mike says.

"Like, royally." Lucas continued.

"And the Mind Flayer now knows that they are the only thing that can stop him. But if they are out of the way-" Mike starts.

"Game over." Lucas answered. I walked up to him and hugged him.

"He also said he was gonna kill all of you." El pipes up.

"He won't kill me without a good fight from my end." I answer.

"Yeah, well, that's nice." Max continues. I could hear faint screeching noise I look at Nancy. Nancy walks over to the window. The faint screeching noises continue.

"Do you guys hear that?" Nancy asked before giving a shudder. I nod.

"It's just the fireworks." Jonathan answered.

"Billy... When he told you this, it was here, in this room?" Nancy asked. El nods I was just confused. There was distant thudding noise. I stood up and looked ready. The fluttering sound could be heard.

Will: [reaches for his neck to feel the goosebumps] He knows we're here." Will says.

Alex: Fucking hell." I mumble. We leave the house and see the creature on the hill. The trees was rustling as the monster got closer. The creature snarls as it got closer. It also screeches loud which annoys me. Nancy opens the shed and looks around. She grabs the shotgun as Jonathan grabs the axe I just look at them. The kids start barricading the cabin as I grab some weapons from where I was hiding them. El starts grunting as I arrive back.

"Yeah. That's good like that." Mike says.

"Hey, get away from the windows." Nancy yells.

"(pulls out a gun from her back pocket and checks if it's loaded) I'm ready." I point out.

"And she has a gun." Nancy states.

"What dad says I always need to be armed it's usually a knife but it stabbed me one time." I answered. We were all panting, as we stand in the middle of the cabin. The lamp starts squeaking. The rumbling was getting pretty loud. I could hear the electric crackling. I just stand there ready. Almost everyone gasps as me and El look at each other. The breathing was going rapidly around the room.

"It's close." Will pipes up. The leaves start rustling. I could tell the branches was snapping as the creature got closer. We could all hear the rumbling footsteps. The glasses was clinking. The rumbling stops as I look around.

"Where'd it go?" Max asked.

"You think I know I'm fighting the same battle you're fighting." I answered. The creature shrieks and breaks through the wall. Everyone was gasping and moving out the way of the tendril I just stood there. Jonathan yells, grunts as he pulls the tendril away from El using the axe I ran to El using my powers to make it move away. The creature shrieks as me and Jonathan fight against it. Jonathan grunts and sinks the axe into the tendril again as I used my powers to stop it. Jonathan yells as it throws him into a wall I look at it and lift both my hands up. The creature shrieks, the tendril now going after Jonathan. Jonathan groans as I use my powers against it.

Nancy shoots the tendril, the creature shrieks. The creature wails, screeching because Nancy won't stop shooting it and I won't stop using my powers. It shrieks and backs her into the wall when she runs out of bullets. I stopped because I was losing energy fighting it. The creature wails as it's held back by El, shrieking in pain. Mike gasps as I fall into Lucas's arms.

The creature was shrieking pretty loud. The creature screams as El uses her powers against it. El yells as I try standing up. The creature shrieks as El rips the mouth off the tendril. I smile at El. Max yelps as the tendril passes her out the hole in the wall. I just stayed in Lucas's arms.

"Holy shit." Max yells. Another tendril shoots into the cabin, shrieking. I manage to stand up slightly but I fall back into Lucas's arms. The glass shatters as another enters the cabin, El is holding them both. Both of the tendrils starts shrieking. El starts panting as I move my head to the side sending one of them flying. The creatures was shrieking pretty loud. I could hear the shrieking and barking coming from the creature. El yells and rips the tendrils again. I managed to stand up this time without falling. I could see the tendrils retreat again, whimpering shrieks heard.

El starts panting as a tendril comes in from the roof, grabbing Eleven's leg, roaring and shrieking. El screams as it lifts her I got into protective mode. I chucked Lucas my gun and used my powers to get rid of it hoping it would let go of her.

"[grabs her] El!" Mike screamed. El starts screaming as I keep using my powers. "El!" All the kids grab Eleven, grunting as I keep trying to fight it. The creature was roaring. I twist my head slightly getting annoyed. Then twist it the other way to sent the creature flying.

Nancy pumps the shotgun, reloading as I fall to my knees but quickly get up. The creature was roaring loud.

"Pull!" Mike yells to Nancy.

"Nancy, shoot it!" Jonathan screams.

"Nancy shoot now." I yell. El starts screaming. The creature starts snarling. Nancy shoots it slightly. The creature lets out pained snarls. I smirk. Everyone knows when I smirk I was about to do something. I send the one of the creatures flying out the cabin. El starts screams.

"Come on! Lucas! Alex!" Max yells. Nancy pumps the shotgun. Lucas grabs the axe and yells, hacking at the tendril as I grab the gun shooting it. The creature roars as we did that. Lucas grunts, yells as I stand slightly in front of him to protect him. A shotgun fires I look at Nancy before shooting again. The creature was roaring loud. El was screaming which set me off. I sent the creature flying back with my screams.

The kids, but me, straining, pulling El as I reload the gun.  The creature roars as I shoot it. Lucas yells, hacking at the tendril. I remember something but couldn't do it when I was needed to shoot the creature.

"Pull!" Max screams. There was noise of a shotgun fires. The creature screeches as we shoot it. Lucas cuts the tendril, it was squelching. The creature was roaring just as I used the last bullet.

"[holds Eleven close] El! El, you okay?" Mike screams. The creature starts roaring again. Mike sees the mouth of the tendril is still attached to El's leg, it was shrieking he pulls it off her leg, Eleven screeching in pain I notice dad's gun has been left in the secret hiding place behind the monster. I slide under it.

"Alex!" Lucas yells. I manage to get to the hiding place without getting noticed I grabbed the gun noticing the bullets dad left for any danger. I stand up and put the gun up.

"Defiantly the Chiefs kid." I heard Jonathan say.

"Always has been always will be." I answer. The monstrous chittering as Mike throws it and it leaves the cabin. The creature snarls as I shoot it. El starts panting heavily. The creature roaring as El stands up and nods to me. El was panting as I stood next to her. The creature was shrieking as we got ready. The creature was roaring as I nod to El. El uses her powers, yelling. As I start shooting it.

There was pained screeching from the creature as it starts ripping apart. El yells louder as I keep shooting. There was distant roaring. I use the gun slightly before sliding it to someone. I used my powers so it couldn't get back to El. Max grabs El and helps her.

"Go, go, go!" Nancy screams.

"Come on, come on, go!" Jonathan joins in.

"Go!" Nancy screams slightly.

"[taking down the barricade] Hurry up! Come on!" Jonathan carries on.

"Everybody out!" Mike screams.

"Go!" Jonathan screams.

"Go, come on!" Nancy carries on as the creature roars as we run to the car.

"Go, go, go, go!" Jonathan carries on.

"[opens the doors] Come on!" Lucas yells to me.

"[repeating] Come on!" Nancy repeats.

"Come on! Come on!" Lucas says as I jump into the car. The creature was shrieking as we started to get in the car.

"Get in. Right here." Jonathan yells. El wails in pain as I take her hand.

"Drive! Drive!" I yell slightly. The engine was starting. Nancy drives off, the creature roaring. Nancy parks very recklessly for having 6 children in the car with her and Jonathan, tires squealing. I could hear glass shattering. El groans as they carry her inside

I rush inside trying to help El. Nancy walks to the medical aisle and grabs some rubbing alcohol and bandages as I help.

"Okay, get her down. Okay. Lemme see." I say as Nancy pulls up El's trouser leg and sees the oozing wound.

"Oh, shit." Max says from behind me. El groans Nancy gets out a bandage and the rubbing alcohol.

"What- What- Hey, what are you doing?" Max asked.

"I'm cleaning the wound." Nancy answers I look at Max.

"No, first, we need to stop the bleeding, then clean, then disinfect, then bandage. I skateboard. Trust me. Mike, hold this." Max explained. El groans as Mike puts pressure on the wound.

"Keep the pressure on it, nice and firm, okay? We're gonna need water, soap." Max says.

"Yeah, okay." Nancy states.

"All right." Jonathan answered. Nancy and Jonathan rush off. Lucas empties out his backpack, making a mess. I look at him disgusted at his behaviour.

"Does any of this help?" Lucas asked.

"No. Go get me a washcloth and a bowl." Max answered.

"A bowl?" Lucas asked.

"Lucas." I answered. Will slaps his arm like 'dude'.

"Go." Will pipes up.

"[stammers] Okay." Lucas says. El groans slightly.

"Satan's Baby. You ever shot one of these suckers?" Lucas asks.

"No. Is it sweet?" Will asks.

"That's an understatement." Lucas says. Max walks over, not impressed I was stood next to Lucas.

"That doesn't look like a bowl." Max says.

"Nah, it's way better. There is a reason this warning label says "18 or older." This sucker is filled with 150 grains of black powder. AKA gunpowder. Strap two of these together, and it's bigger than an M-80. Five of them, we've got ourselves a stick of dynamite." I explain.

"You wanna kill that thing with fireworks?" Max asks.

"Do you have a better idea?" Lucas asked.

"Uh, yeah. Eleven." Max answers.

"Against that thing? She's gonna need some backup." Lucas says.

"Oh, my God." Max says she walks off and Lucas scoffs.

"Hold this." Lucas says. Will holds Satan's Baby as Lucas grabs more fireworks and I just stood there looking at him. The freezer was humming as El uses her powers. I was stood next to her. The pull-tab clicks loudly as Lucas opens a can of Coke. I just looked at him.

"[whispers] Quiet." Max says.

"[whispers] Oh, sorry." Lucas continues.

"How do you even drink that?" Mike asked.

"Because it's delicious." Lucas said.

"What?" I asked him.

"It's like Carpenter's The Thing. The original is a classic, no question about it. But the remake... [slurping loudly] [satisfied sigh] [smacking lips] Sweeter, bolder... better." Lucas said.

"You're insane." I stated.

"So, you prefer the original Thing?" Lucas asked.

"What? No, I'm not talking about The Thing, I'm talking about New Coke." Mike said.

"It's the same concept, dude." Lucas said.

"Uh, actually, it's not the same concept." I stated.

"It is the same concept." Lucas said.

"No, it's not." Mike said.

"[yells] Yes, it is." Lucas yells.

"Hey." I yelled.

"Sorry." Mike said.

"Sorry." Lucas followed up.

"Did you... find him?" Mike asked El. They grab supplies from around the store.

"The movies? Dustin's so freaked out about the gate, he decides to go watch a movie? Yeah, makes total sense." Lucas said.

"You're positive he said "gate" and not "great"?" I asked.

"Yeah, like, "This movie I'm watching is great."" Lucas agreed.

"Sounded like "gate."" El said.

"Which would explain how the Mind Flayer's still alive." Mike says.

"Yeah, we just have to shut it again." Nancy says.

"Then the monster dies." Will pipes up.

"But if not, we always have Lucas' fireworks." Max says.

"Keep mocking my plan, Max. Keep mocking it. I wanna hear you say it again, because you keep doubting me. You keep doubting me!" Lucas says.

"Ridiculous." Max muttered.

"Will?" Lucas asked.

"We're gonna prove 'em wrong, right?" Will asked. There was screeching as some of Eleven's blood starts to congeal to form an ooze. I looked at her with worry.

We made it to the Mall just in time to see some men. El was stood not to far behind me. I tilted my head to the side. I saw a car not to far from me. I chucked a car their way. Robin Steve Dustin and Erica pops out from behind the counter. They didn't notice me and the others. 

"(laughing) You flung that thing like a Hot Wheel!" Dustin said to me. I ran up to him and hugged him.

"Dustin." I yelled slightly as he hugged me and El.

"Lucas? Alex?" Erica asked.

"Erica Sinclair." I yelled slightly. 

"What are you doing here?" Lucas asked.

"Ask them. It's their fault." Erica said to us pointing to Steve.

"True, yeah. Totally true. It's absolutely our fault." Steve said.

"I don't understand what happened to that car." Robin said.

"El and Alex both have superpowers." Dustin said.

"I'm sorry?" Robin asked.

"Superpowers. She threw it with her mind. C'mon, catch up." Steve said pointing to me.

"That's El? Alex has superpowers?" Erica asked.

"Who's El? And who the hell is Alex?" Robin asked.

"I'm Alex and (points to El) that's El." I answered.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" Nancy asks.

"I'm Robin. I work with Steve." Nancy asked.

"She cracked the top secret code." Dustin said.

"Yeah, which is how we found out about the Russians in the first place." Steve said.

"Russians? Wait, what Russians?" I asked.

"The Russians!" Steve answered.

"Those were Russians?" Max asked.

"Some of them." Erica answered.

"What are you talking about?" Lucas said.

"Didn't you hear our code red?" Dustin asks.

"Yeah. Couldn't understand what you were saying." Mike answered.

"Goddamn low battery." Dustin said.

"How many times do I have to tell you with the low battery?" Steve asked.

"Well, everything worked out, didn't it?" Dustin asked.

"Worked out? We almost died." Erica answered.

"Yeah, but we didn't, did we?" Dustin said.

"It was pretty damn close." Steve answered.

"Okay, Russians? As in, they're working for the Russian government?" Lucas asked. El panting, looking back at them. I looked at her.

"What are you not comprehending? Am I not speaking English? We have a full-blown Red Dawn situation." Dustin said. There was a droning sound.

"So this has nothing to do with the gate?" Max asked.

"It has everything to do with the gate..." Dustin said the droning sound intensifies, El is clearly the only one who hears it I looked at her hearing the sound. El grunts and groans as she hits the floor.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Steve piped up.

"El!" I yelled running to her side.

"El! El!" Mike yelled. El was whimpering.

"What's wrong with her?" Erica asked.

"What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong?" Mike asked.

"My leg. My leg." El answered.

"Her leg, her leg. Okay." Jonathan says. El panting as they take off the bandage.

"Get that off." I yelled slightly.

"Okay." Nancy answers. We all exclaim in disgust, Jonathan backing backpedalling as fast as he can. I put my arm around Erica as she groans. Mike gasps slightly. El was grunting and wailing. I hid my head in Erica's.

"El! El!" Mike yells she was wailing which caused me to whimper and let a few tears to fall.

"El! El, are you okay?" Mike asked.

"El! El! El!" Mike yelled again. El was screaming. I was pulled away from Erica by Lucas as he put his arms around me.
