"Hey karkitty?"

"WHAT?"

"Do you think that if we grow old we could have a matespriteship?"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?"

"If we get old together and don't find anyone to like us like that, could we like each other?"

"I... I GUESS? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU BRINGING THIS UP FOR?"

"Oh, no reason. No reason at all." Nepeta grinned as she turned away from the grumpy guppy troll. If she can just keep him to herself for a few more sweeps, she will get everything she ever wanted, all in the form of one little nubby-horned troll. Thus began Nepeta's mission.

A few months later, Karkat had finally found the courage to ask out Terezi. Now, Nepeta would have been heartbroken if not for the fact that she had formulated a plan for this. She felt terrible for doing this, she really did, she threw up due to how guilty she felt. But even so, she needed to do it to get what she wanted for a change. She wasn't going to let any troll take her precious karkitty without a fight. Even if they were her friend.

Everyday she would talk to Terezi, dropping little subtle hints that she didn't ship it. Everyone trusted Nepeta's shipping sense and Terezi eventually picked up on the hints... after three weeks. Terezi broke up with Karkat after only one month of dating.  Now, of course Karkat was distraught, he'd had a flush crush on the female troll for quite a while and the fact that she broke up with him so soon, so abruptly. It shattered him. Nepeta was there for every second, holding back puke at the thought that she caused this. But she had to do it. The idea of Karkat holding another troll in his arms made Nepeta so incredibly uncomfortable she would fidget while trying to console the despairing male. 

"It's OK Karkitty, you'll be fine, she's missing out on you." Nepeta felt she was burning inside, but anything is better than watching her flush-crush in the arms of another. Karkat didn't say anything.

A few years later he starts to date a girl named Tammy. She was a happy bubbly girl who brought in everyone. Now Nepeta, wasn't quite sure what to do with Tammy. What to think or feel. Tammy was so kind and pretty. But this relationship didn't last very long anyway on accord of Karkat not feeling safe in the relationship. Apparently, Tammy was quite the abuser behind closed doors. Nepeta was safe in the knowledge that Karkat wasn't going to be in any relationships for quite a while. All she had to focus on was helping her karkitty get better from the abuse he had endured. Every day she would scamper round to Karkat's house and pat his back make him some food and attempt to play with him. This constant attention made Karkat feel better, slowly but surely. It also helped him warm up the the cat-crazy troll. They continued to get closer, Nepeta got happier and happier the more he opened up to her about himself and what he had gone through. 

After a two years of close friendship Karkat decided it was time to ask Nepeta her feelings towards him.

"SO, UH, NEPETA?"

"Yes, Karkitty?" Nepeta replied, looking away from the stove to send Karkat a toothy grin.

"I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED, WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU FEEL FOR ME? I KNOW IT'S BLUNT AND ALL BUT, UH, I DON'T KNOW..." Nepeta stands in the kitchen, frozen, head reeling from the question. A million thoughts whirled around her hat clad head. Slowly narrowing down to the most important question; "What do I do?"

"Um, you are... You are... Oh Gog, um... Ok, I'll be honest with you Karkitty, you've been my flush crush for the longest time but, I didn't want to tell you in case it got awkward, I know it's cliche but it's true!"

"OH, OK."

"OK? What, I don't understand? Do you feel the same? Do you want to leave?"

"WELL, I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE." Nepeta's eyes widen and she grins widely. 

"So, are we in a matespriteship now?"

"YEAH. WE ARE." 

"YAY!" Nepeta jumps on Karkat who had been resting on her couch, the food she was preparing forgotten...

Until the fire alarm went off that is.

Omg, I went ice skating with two of my friends today and I really wish I hadn't cause I fell, winded myself and I've been up all night not being able to breathe and my back hurts so bad that I've been crying for about 3 hours help.
