Feferi had once again fucked him over. She said they would go to the dance together and then at the last second calls him and says "Sorry Eridan, I think we should see other people." And goes with Sollux instead! How un-fucking-believable! Sick and tired of the lying and betrayal Eridan storms out of his hive to visit his strangely human moirail, ______.

He does the same knock as always and you quickly open the door. You are met with a rather sad sight. Eridan is in his dance clothes, angry tears welling up in his eyes. He lets out a garbled cry and immediately flops into your arms.

Watching the sad male troll sob in your arms was painful. You squeezed him occasionally which seemed to make him cry harder. You fingers scratched his scalp in a barely hidden affectionate way and you pressed your cheek to his head, avoiding his horns. Poor Eridan. Eventually he fell asleep and you moved him to the couch. Sitting next to his heartbroken form reminded you of a similar time three years ago when your boyfriend had broke up with you. Eridan had comforted you the same way.

You placed a kiss on his shut eyelids and stroked his hair. He had stroked your hair but definitely hadn't kissed your eyelids. He doesn't feel that way for you sadly. An hour later you turned the tv of and went to bed, it was early but you needed to reflect.

Eridan had been your moirail for seven years so... If you confessed your feelings he wouldn't freak out would he? Hopefully not. How would you say it? 'Hey Eridan, I've been crushing on you for three years but you were with Feferi so I stepped back. Now you're not with Feferi maybe you could like me now!' No. That's insensitive bullshit. Maybe it would be best to wait for a little bit so the Feferi thing dies down. Yeah. You get in your most comfortable position and close your eyes.

When that asshole, or 'the sun' as normal people would call it, wakes you up its quite possible that you are ready to blow it up. Going downstairs, there is breakfast to be made. In the living room Eridan starts to stir.

"Morning sleepyhead."

"I bet you only woke up a few minutes before I did." He groans as the memories of what happened come back to him. You pass him some breakfast and pat his back.

"There, there. Do you want to talk about it?" You took on a sudden serious attitude and Eridan shook his head and slumped onto your side. You patted his back.

"I like you." It happens before you can stop it.

"I like you too." Your heart and soul soars. "You're the best friend I've ever had and I wouldn't change that." And whatever wings your heart and soul had gained instantly shattered.

"Haha, yeah I wouldn't either." Your voice cracked.

For fucks sake...
