Heading Out

You sat on the floor as you waited to meet up with Blackie in the hallway. A few minutes later he emerged from Tom's room; you knew because you could hear the jiggling of the buckles that were on his boots. You felt your heart beating a mile a minute when you saw him. He was dressed in a black t-shirt with the words "L'Amour Rocks" written in white on the front and black jeans with a belt. A black, leather jacket covered most of his shirt, and he also had on low heeled boots which really didn't change his tall stature at all.

"You look great." You said, a blush evident on your cheeks. He chuckled softly and extended his right hand out to you. You held onto his hand as he helped you stand up from your place on the floor.

"Thanks honey. Are you ready to go?" Blackie offered his arm to you while smiling. You enjoyed it when he called you baby names every now and then, but whenever he would call you honey you swooned every time. Blackie knew this too. From the first day he met you and up until now, he would always call you honey because he loved your reaction.

You looped your hands around his arm and smiled. "Yes I am." The two of you then left the hallway and walked through the living room towards the stairs.

When you reached the stairs, Blackie helped you down the steps quickly but carefully before Lucy's parents could see the two of you. You were panting slightly constantly having to climb down each step; you stopped for a second to see how many steps were left. A thankful grin crossed your face as you seen that there was only a fourth of the stairs left to climb down. Your mind began to wander as you imagined what you and Blackie were going to do when you were in town. Would he take you to the movies or window shopping? Or had he planned to take you on a simple but romantic walk through a park?

Lost in your daydreams, you weren't watching where you were stepping and you suddenly tripped over your foot. You gasped and moved your arms out in front of you to brace yourself for the impending impact, but you never felt it. Blackie acted quickly and caught you before you fell down the rest of the stairs. Since he had already been standing on the step below you, he had managed to grab onto your waist and pull you close to his body.

"Woah, are you okay, (Y/N)?" Blackie asked worriedly as he looked you over for any scratches or bruises, his hands were now on your upper arms as he held you tenderly.

You lifted your head from his shoulder and nodded. "Yes I am. Thank you for catching me Blackie." You smiled while looking up at him.

"You're welcome hun, I'm glad you're alright." He smiled kindly as he breathed a quiet sigh of relief. He let go of your arms, unknowingly much to both his and yours dismay, and continued to guide you down the steps.

Once you and Blackie made it to the bottom of stairs, he walked with you into the living room and towards the couch. "How are we going to get into the car without being seen?" You asked while looking at everything downstairs.

Blackie then pointed at something that was on the couch, your eyes followed in the direction that his finger was pointing and you raised a brow in confusion. "We're going to hide in Lucy's mom's handbag, that way we won't have to worry about being seen her parents." He said coolly. Blackie walked up to the bottom of the couch and motioned for you to come over. You walked next to him. "Um, okay. I'm going to assume that you've done this before?" You said, you were still in disbelief with what he was saying but he was usually accurate with most of his ideas.

Blackie laughed quietly, he loved the way your lips pouted as you waited for him to answer your question. "Yes, I've done this more than twelve times already." You eyes grew wide hearing this.

"I guess I have nothing to worry about since he's a pro at sneaking out of the house." You thought to yourself.

"Alright. But my next question is, will we both fit in her purse? It looks like only one of us will fit." You asked. Blackie looked around the living room and towards the master bedroom's doorway to make sure there was no sign of either parent coming in the living room.

"Yeah, there's more than enough room for both of us. I can show you." He said before climbing onto the couch with ease. "Come on (Y/N), give me your hands." He smiled as he kneeled down on the edge of the couch cushion and stretched his arms out to you. You stepped closer to the couch and placed your hands in his. Using the the ornate, wooden carvings on the bottom of couch as stepping blocks, you scaled up the couch as Blackie kept a strong grip on your hands. With a gentle tug, he pulled you up and towards himself before setting you down on the cushion. The two of you then walked up to the red, leather handbag; Blackie grabbed the edge of it and pulled it down so that you could see the inside of it.

You were in awe with how much room was still available inside the bag even with the many items and cosmetics that Lucy's mother managed to squeeze into. "Wow! You're right, there is more than enough room for us in here. How does she even carry this thing? It must way a ton." You laughed.

Blackie laughed as well. "She must be pretty strong I'll tell you that." The voices from the parents were soon heard not long after he spoke, but they couldn't be seen which meant that they were about to leave the bedroom soon. Without hesitation, you backed away from the handbag before running towards it again, grabbing onto the edge of purse and agilely hoisting yourself into it. Blackie's eyes widened as his mind tried to register what he had just seen, but his thinking was cut short as he heard the voices getting louder. He quickly leaped into the purse and sat down next to you. You knew that your little stunt probably shocked him which made a wide grin appear on your face. You looked at Blackie with bright eyes which made him smirk at you.

"You never told me you could do gymnastics." He said.

"Actually, I've never done anything like that before." You giggled. He playfully narrowed his eyes at you which made you laugh more.

Just as you were about to say something else to him, he held a finger to his lips signaling for you to stay quiet as Lucy's mother picked up her handbag. A feeling of nervousness coursed through you as you tuned out the conversation going on between both parents. Everything around you seemed to fade-away as you tried to keep your mind open. You never did well whenever you were in a dark and confined spaces, they reminded you too much of your precious home. Like a spider slowly creeping down its web towards its prey, the depressing memories from your past began to invade your mind.

"It's going to happen again... No, I'm going to be fine. We're just going out tonight. I don't want it to happen again though, I can't go through that pain again!" The distressing thoughts swayed like an awful storm through your mind.

You readjusted yourself somewhat so that you were now facing the side of purse, in an effort to keep Blackie noticing your anxiety. Closing your eyes, you quietly exhaled a shaky sigh as a few tears rolled down your cheeks. Blackie, on the other hand, had watched it all; his heart sank in sadness as he wondered what was making you so upset.

"Why is she sad all of sudden? Did I do or say something rude to her earlier? I pray that I didn't. Maybe she didn't want to go out tonight. Maybe she doesn't want to be near me..." He thought, a disappointment frown began to form on his lips, but he pushed his dreary thoughts away as he was determined to make you happy again.

"(Y/N) baby what's the matter?" He whispered in a smooth and soothing voice as he gently laid one of his hands on your shoulder which made you snap out of your trance. "I'm very sorry if I pressured you into leaving the house tonight. I'll make it up to you, I promise." He said, barely smiling.

Even though there were streaks from the tears that slid down your cheeks, you turned to look at Blackie while smiling weakly at him. He smiled back and tenderly wiped your tears away.

"You don't have to apologize Blackie, you didn't do anything wrong. I wanted very much to go out with you tonight. I'm... I just get really nervous whenever I'm in the dark. But since you're here with me, I'm not as scared as I usually am." You said while reaching out and holding onto his hand. Blackie smiled and pulled you onto his lap as he protectively wrapped his arms around you. You cuddled into his chest as you rested your head against his shoulder, a peaceful feeling gradually overcame the tension that was building up inside of you.

"There's nothing to worry about (Y/N). Just try to relax a little. I would never let anything bad happen to you." He said reassuringly. Your lovely (E/C) eyes locked with his bold but kind sapphire eyes; you searched them for any signs of dishonesty, but you could only found the truth. But there was something else that was glimmering in those mysterious eyes of his, could it be... love? Blackie grinned softly as he tucked a few strands of your hair behind your ear which coaxed you to shyly caress the side of his face with your fingertips.

Suddenly, there was an abrupt shaking feeling around the two of you, which made Blackie hold you closer to him, as the handbag was set down. The sound of car doors closing and the garage lifting up indicated that the parents were now about to leave the house. As the car began to back out of the garage, Blackie softly kissed the top of your head which made your face heat up. You sighed contently as you began to play with some his midnight hair.

"What's it like in the city?" You asked curiously, while twirling a lock of Blackie's hair around your finger.

He smiled as he looked down at you. "Well, there's a lot of people and interesting shops everywhere. There's even a large toy emporium that's across the street from the theater that Tom and Lucy's parents are going to." He said.

"There's a toy store?! Oh, can we go there tonight, please!" You whispered joyfully. Blackie chuckled softly at your enthusiasm, he knew that you'd probably want to go to the toy store because it seemed like something that would catch your attention.

"Of course we can. It'll be the first place we visit." He said.
