Imagine: Kili trying to save your life

*Long and detailed chapter* Phoenix *

"Kili!" You cried out as you both ran through a forest that was on the outline of the southern region of the Blue Mountains. You, Kili and Fili tend to be sent out on a constant line of missions due too your skills. Fili and Kili are two of the best fighters that trained with their uncle, Thorin Oakenshield. Where as yourself, now you are different. Rather than being large and loud, you seem to be rather agile in your movements and compared to everyone else, You were thin and could easily fit through small tight spaces.

On this mission, which Fili managed to slip out of doing, you and Kili had to go and see if the reports of orcs that were creating havoc in the forests where true. With strict orders to find only information and not to engage. But as you both were gathering information, somehow one thing lead to the other and here you are now, being chased through the forest by a group of the foul things. There were around fifteen maybe couple give or take. But you never really knew because you were concentrated on getting to safety.

Then out of no where, an orc appeared in front of you both. Kili and you skidded to a stop. You ripped out your twin swords and placed yourself so that you could defend yourself when a strike was to come. Kili followed your lead when other orcs appeared from behind the first.

" Kili, we gotta get back to the border. There should be guards there." You speak quietly to him as you now circle each other back to back keeping all areas watched.

" Yeah, but first we have to get through this wall of scum." Kili said as you nodded but then remember could could not see you.

" Exactly. And there is only one way to do that." You yelled as you both charged out at the orcs and swung your swords. The orcs screeched as your blade sliced through them with complete ease. With a moment to spare you turn to look at Kili to make sure he was fairing good. You smiled when you saw he was fine but that soon fell when you saw an orc sneaking up behind him. Without a second though you took to your feet just as the orc then drew out a bow with an arrow laced onto it.

" Kili! Look out!" You yelled as Kili killed the orc and spun to look at you then the orc with the drawn bow. The colour from his face fell when he looked at the point of the arrow which aimed directly for him. But then a force knocked him off his feet just as the orc let loose the arrow. You had made it just in time to push him out the road with your shoulder, only to take the arrow yourself.

" No!" Kili cried as you rolled onto your back and huffed out a heavy breath of pain. Your E/C eyes drifted to the arrow sticking out from you chest, just left of your heart. Kili moved over to you and knelt down placing a hand onto you chest around the wound. "No, No, No." Kili muttered as his eyes watered with tears. Your eyes widened at the sight of an Orc behind the distraught Kili with a sword raised high, ready to swing the killing blow. You tried to speak to warn Kili, but nothing came out expect gasps of air.

But as the Orc went to the swing down, he stopped and fell to the ground. Kili looked around to see the dead Orc laying beside him.

" What the?" Kili muttered just as Thorin and Fili burst through the tree line with other dwarves behind them and began to fight the rest of the Orcs.

"Kili!" Thorin called as he and Fili rushed over to you both. Thorin looked down at you with a worried look before looking back to Kili.

" Get her back to the village, Fili go with them." Thorin ordered them as they both nodded and Kili picked you up into his arms while you groaned in pain. As he began to rush away from the fight you felt your eyes dropping and yourself growing tired.

" Kili..." You spoke with it drawing out longer than it should. Kili looked down at you as you began to struggle with breathing.

" Come on y/n. Stay with me." Kili called to you as your eyes closed. The last thing you heard was Kili crying your name out.

Kili carried you tightly in his arms as Fili ran beside him through the village towards the healers hut. Once there Fili battered the door with his fist until it opened showing a young looking dwarf. But do not let looks fool you, he is one of the most skill in medicine through middle earth.

" y/n? Kili, Fili? What happened bring her in, quickly and put her on the bed." He called to the brothers as he went to a desk and rattled through drawers finding things.

"What happened?" He asked as Kili looked to him rushing over to you.

" She was hit by an Orcish arrow. Can you save her?" Kili asked and the young dwarf stopped what he was doing before sighing and continuing slower.

" Prince Kili. I can help her." He said as the young dwarf began to removed the arrow.

" Thank Durin." Kili and Fili sighed with relief.

" But I can only do so much. She was hit by an orc arrow." He said pulling the arrow out completely and lifting it up to look at the tip with a completely black. " And they coat them with a poison that only the magic of elves can heal."

" But Thorin wants nothing to do with them." Kili said with panic in his voice.

" Brother, calm down. We will talk to him, I am sure he will make an exception for y/n." Fili said as he looked to the healer.

" Take care of her, we will be back soon." Fili said as he and Kili rushed out of the house and towards the gates of the village. They arrived just as Thorin arrived back.

" How is y/n?" He was with a worried tone looking at his to nephews.

" Thorin, she was hit by an orc arrow which was laced with poison." Fili said.

" The healer can find the cure then?" Thorin asked back with hope.

" No, only elven magic can heal her now." Kili spoke to Thorin butting in from his brother. "We have to take her to the elves in Rivendell."

" No, the healer will find another way." Thorin said stepping away from the brother.

" Thorin, there is no other way." Fili spoke to Thorin's back causing him to stop.

"There must be another way, because I am not  going to those pointy eared elves for help." Thorin growled to them as Kili stepped forward.

" Thorin! I will not let y/n die! Not now! Not before I have the chance to tell her I love her." Kili called before sighed and tears prick his eyes. A single tear falls as he looks to Thorin. "Thorin, I love her. I cannot stand by and wait till she dies when I know there is a cure." Kili whimpered to his uncle, begging for him to let the elves help. Thorin sighed and walked back over to Kili and placed a hand on his shoulder.

" The healer will find a way." Thorin said as he turned and walked away from the brothers, leaving them gobsmacked and unable to speak any words. " Fili. I do not care what Thorin says." Kili began before turning to face his elder brother. "I am taking y/n to the elves. I need your help to do so." Kili said.

" Count me in." Fili said. That night both Fili and Kili came up with their plans to take you from the Blue mountains to Rivendell. And they wasted no time in putting the plan into place. In the early morning of the next day they saddled up their ponies and the healer carried you out to them. Placing you onto Fili's saddle first they wasted no time in making their long journey to Rivendell.

It took them at least a day to get you from the mountains to Rivendell by horse back, constantly changing you from Fili's horse to Kili's so that the horses would not tire out quickly. The sun was now setting and the brothers were now riding over the bridge into Rivendell. Once they were over a bunch of elven guards surrounded them with their swords pointed at the three of you.

" Where is the lord of this place. Tell him that Fili and Kili of..." Fili called out only to be interrupted by another voice.

" Of the blue mountains. Nephews to Thorin Oakenshield." The voice belong to a wise looking elf who walked down the stairs dressed in dark red robes with a silver shine. "What can I do for you?"

" Please, we are in need of your help. Our good friend was struck with an orc arrow that was laced with poison only the elves can heal. Our uncle refused to come for your aid, so we are here against his will." Fili spoke as he dismounted his pony while Kili stayed in his with you sitting in front of him. Your head was back against his shoulder your breathing barely their. The elf looked over at you and nodded with a worried look on his face.

" I will do all I can. Come, my name is Elrond and I am the lord of this house. You are welcome here to stay as long as you wish." Elrond said as some elves walked over and gently lifted your limp body and carried her away from the two brothers.

" They will take her to my daughter. She just just as skilled as I am so you have no worries there." Elrond said before turning and walking back up the stairs.

" Come with me, I will get you both a bed for the night." He said and they both made their way up the stairs and down hallways.

"When will we heard about y/n?" Kili asked Elrond who looked down at him with a knowing smile.

" I will tell you as soon as I know, which most likely will be in the morning." Elrond said as he showed them to a room with two bed and bid them good night. After Fili and Kili undressed from their travel clothes all they could think about was you and how your well being was. A fire had been stared lighting the dark room, Kili sat on a chair staring into the fire with a distant look in his eyes.

" Kili, she will be fine. Lord Elrond's daughter will do everything she can." Fili said placing a hand onto his shoulder. "Go to bed. y/n will need you be alive when she wakes up." He chuckled to his younger brother. With a nodded they both made their way to the bed.

The next morning your eyes slowly open to find yourself in a unfamiliar room of white and soft pastel colours. You looked around to see a woman of untouchable beauty sitting next to your bed.

" Where am I?" You ask with a dry throat.

" You are in my father house. Rivendell. You were struck with an arrow and two brother brought you here from treatment." The woman spoke in a gently voice.

" They brought you here against their  Uncle Thorin's word." A male spoke, he was leaning against the wall at the end of the bed wearing a loose white shirt and brown trousers with black boots. His hair was shoulder length and black with grey eyes and little stubble around his jaw.

"I see. Who are you both?" You asked gently.

" My name is Arwen and this is Aragorn." Arwen informed you and you nodded to both of the names.

" I see, you Fili and Kili went against Thorin to bring me to the elves." You sighed and looked down. "If he knows that not only will I be shunned and banished, but they will be punished. That is the length of his hatred for elves." You spoke rubbing your hands together.

" I want you to tell them I died. That I never made it." You whispered with tears threatening to show.

"Why on earth would you want to do that? Those dwarves risked everything to save you." Aragorn said.

" That is why I am doing this. So that Thorin will see them grieving and grant them leniency. I love them and I cannot stand by and watch them be punished for saving my life." You say as Aragorn sighed.

" I can see where you are coming from. And if that is your wish then so be it." He spoke to her as he nodded to Arwen.

" Then you are welcome to stay here for as long as you wish." Arwen said as she stood up and walked out the room leaving Aragorn and yourself in the room.

" So who do you wish to go through with this?" Aragorn asked taking Arwen's seat.

" Tell them I died, that they cannot see me because of how the poison destroyed my body." You say.

" But what if they insist of seeing your body? What if I cannot stop them?" Aragorn asked as you sighed.

" Is there anyway or anything that can give off the look of death?" You asked curiously.

" There is, it will slow your breathing down so that it cannot be detected easily. You skin with pale and your heart will beat quietly. Its called the fouls death and will only last for an hour before you are back to normal." Aragorn said as he opened a drawer and pulled out a small glass bottle of clear liquid.

" Its a plant but this is it in liquid form. Drink this when I leave and it will take about five minutes to take effect." Aragorn said as he stood up and walked to the door.

" Well, time to tell about your death. Only myself, Elrond and Arwen will know of this until they leave. Which I suspect won't be long." Aragorn said before leaving. You look down at the small vile of liquid. This is what will change your life, if you take this small bottle of liquid; you cannot go back to the blue mountain. You cannot see Fili or Thorin again. She won't see Kili again; this hurt you the most.

You grew up with Kili, and through that time you fell in love with him. You love that black haired dwarf with every fiber of your body. You knew this was best for him, his village needed him and they come first all the time. You opened the bottle without a second thought and threw the liquid down your throat.

" Hm... That actually tasted quite pleasant." You whispered as you yawned and moved so you where laying down. You made the bedsheets over you look flat and just made before you closed your eyes and let sleep take over you.

" What do you mean she never made it?" Fili asked as Kili stood motionless.

" It was too late. Arwen tried to help her, but she was too far gone." Aragorn spoke to the brothers who still where unable to take in what he said.

" I need to see her." Kili croaked out with tears falling against his will. His face was blanket yet his eyes told a different story.

" It is up to you but I fear it will make you worse." Aragorn said as Kili shook his head and walked past him.

" I need to see her." He whispered as he made his way to the room you where in. Once he opened the door slowly his heart broke at the sight. There you where laying pale and motionless on the bed. He walked over and took you hand in his. It was cold which only made this seem more real.

" I'm so sorry. I should have been the one to take that arrow." Kili said as he sat down on the bed at your side. " I only wish I could have told you my feelings to you. But I guess now is a better time than ever." Kili said as he placed a hand on your cold cheek.

" I love you, I knew since we were only twenty that I wanted to live myself with you. Not the coming home to you every day, but more the fighting side by side saving the world." Kili said referring to your younger days playing around with sticks. "But when I should have protected you, you protected me."

"I am so sorry." Kili cried for fifteen minutes before Fili came in and bid his farewells before they left back for the blue mountains, much to Kili refusal to leave you behind. You woke up and began to cry softly at the understanding your feeling for Kili where returned to you.

" y/n Are you alright?" Aragorn asked as he walked into your room. You looked at him and shook your head. You explained everything to him while crying.

" Why don't you join me. I am a ranger. I will teach you how to fight and live of the wild." Aragorn suggested and you thought about before thinking it would be a good way to take your mind off everything.

" Fine, let do it." You said to him and smiled.

Since then it has been a few years and you picked up things pretty well. Aragorn taught you everything you knew and you looked to him as the brother you never had. You see you mother passed giving birth to you and your father died in a battle. You had broken off from Aragorn a few days ago to head towards Rivendell for a weeks retreat.

" Lord Elrond. It is good to see you again." You said as you walked up to him.

" And you, Lady y/n. " Elrond spoke to you as you bowed to him showing respect. " But this is a very bad time to come to Rivendell."

" Why is that?" You asked him curiously.

" Because a group of twelve dwarves, a hobbit and a wizard just arrived here. In the company are three dwarves who believe you too be dead." Elrond said as you gasp and blink looking to the ground. Tears form in you eyes and you nodded in agreement.

" I guess you are right, I um, I can't have them seeing me. I will go to Lórien." You say turning around to walk back to the stables but stop when you see three dwarves turning the corner. They look up and see you but you quickly turn around and began to run away.

" y/n?" You hear a voice you longed to hear. You stop and freeze in your spot as you looked to Elrond for help only to find him gone. You sigh heavily and your shoulder shrink.

" Is that you, y/n?" Kili asked again as you close your eyes causing a few tears to fall. You turn you head slightly to the side so you can see them all out the corner of your eye.

" y/n, it is you." Kili said.

" But how? You're dead?" Fili asked you as you closed your eyes and sighed.

" I'm sorry." You speak before turning and running off.

" Wait!" They all yelled as you rushed through Rivendell and towards the stables another way. The three dwarves chased after you as you ran over to your pony and jumped onto her. Just as you where riding out Rivendell. Nine dwarves where blocking your only route out.

" I dont know why those three where trying to stop you but they must have a good enough reason." A man with a funny hat spoke out. You instantly recognised him as Bofur an old friend of your father's.

" Please move out of my way. You have no idea what happened. I have to get away from here before they see me." You whimper.

" Wait I know your face." Bofur said as he stepped closer to you. "y/n? Is that you? But, but you're dead." He said as you shook your head.

" I was." You whisper softly to him. "But I falsified it all. To keep Fili and Kili from their uncles wrath. You know how much Thorin hates elves and if he learn that they brought me here not only would I be shunned but they would be too. I could not have that. I died to protect them."

" But Kili saw you and Fili." Bofur said as you sighed.

"Fools death." You whispered.

" Of course." Bofur said

"Whats that?"

" Fool's death?" Questions echoed through the group.

" It gives the appearance of death without actually being dead." Thorin spoke behind them all. You turn to look behind you in your saddle and look down.

" Hello. Kili." You whispered to him.

" Why?" Kili asked.

" To protect you. I am sorry. But I can't do this. I love you, I do but. I just can't." You turn back around and forced you pony into a gallop and break through the nine dwarves in front of you and disappeared once again.

No one heard hid nor tail about you up until the battle of the five armies when the battle was almost finished. Thorin, Fili and Kili where on the raven hill. You tried to save Kili, but unfortunately you never got there in time. You shed a small tear when you watch him drop from the top to the bottom. A child-hood friend of yours just died. But you would make sure that Kili and Thorin would live. You promised yourself to that. You rush to Kili first to find him fighting against Blog. You saw Kili trying to defend an elven woman.

" Kili!" You yelled just as Blog was about to kill him. You jumped forward and began fighting him before pushing Blog off the cliff. You grab the edge just in time to stop yourself falling. Kili rushed over and grabbed a hold of your arms to pull you back up. You looked down was you are safe to see Blog fight against Legolas. An elf you meet a while ago on your travels.

" y/n?" Kili says as his hand traces your cheek. You turn to look at him with a sad smile."

" Kili, I'm sorry. For everything." You whispered to him with a tear fall down your face.

" You know what. That doesn't matter anymore. You're still alive." Kili said before landing his lips on yours.

" I love you." Kili whispered to you.

" I love you too." You whispered back. The battle finished not long after. You had tried to save Thorin but failed in doing so, leaving Kili to take the throne of the mountain. After the funeral, Kili was crowned king under the mountain and not to long later took you as his wife and queen.
About a year later you gave birth to a baby boy and then ten years later a baby girl. And even though through a lot of differences and challenges you lived happily under the mountain together until your last breath.
