Chapter 19
~Two Months Later~
Chad's been working with me for two months, and I'm finally gonna do it. I'm singing in front of people tonight.
The only ones that have ever heard are Alan and Chad.
Fallon invited everybody over tonight and we're having a little party, and I'm gonna sing my song.
I'm literally so nervous. Why did I even want to do this? I can't do this.
Alan and Chad come over to me to give me a pep talk. "Hey beautiful," Alan says. I smile, "Hey guys, I can't do this." Chad nods, "Yes you can! Nobody out there is going to judge you, they all love and care about you."
"I just can't!" I cry, running up to my room. Alan and Chad follow me, and sit next to me on my bed.
"It's just pre-show jitters, honey, everybody gets them," Chad says rubbing my back. "I bet you guys don't get them!" I retort. Alan laughs, "Actually, I do."
I stare at him shocked, "But you've been performing forever!" Chad grins, "See everybody gets them. It's just part of performing."
"Look at me Alex," Alan says. I turn my head and lock my eyes on his. "Don't ever say you can't do something again, because you can do anything you put your mind too. You're a beautiful, capable girl, but you always let your thoughts tear you down. You shouldn't think that way about yourself, you're too beautiful to put yourself down," Alan says.
I feel Chad's hand on my shoulder, and I turn around. "Alan's right, kid." I nod, "I know he is. I'll try to work on that." Chad smiles, "That's my girl!"
"Hey! You've got a song to sing!" Alan exclaims. I nod nervously, "Let's do this thing!"
We walk downstairs into the living room, and see everybody. They all tell me how excited they are.
The instrumental track Alan had, begins playing through our home speakers. With a shaky voice I begin singing.
I know your heart has had enough
You've hit your wall
But you still try to be tough
You swear nobody understands
This hell that you're going through
The nightmare that's coming true
You tell your friends that you're okay
But
That light inside of you is starting to fade
You barely recognize yourself
You're lost and you're so afraid
You don't have to be so brave
Sometimes we just
Need to break down and feel
Let go, take time
So you can start to heal
Go on and throw it out
Your luck will turn around
Lose control, no
Don't try to hold it in
You will come back
Stronger this ain't the end
You're gonna find your way
You're like a boomerang
Walk out the door
And take a chance
Sometimes you gotta fall
To see where you land
Don't gotta have it figured out
If you feel like giving up
Just lean on the ones you love
Even the sun goes sinking down
But,
You know tomorrow
It'll rise from the ground
Here in the rain it's hard to see
The place that you wanna be
It's closer than you think
Sometimes we just
Need to break down and feel
Let go take time
So you can start to heal
Go on and throw it out
Your luck will turn around
Lose control, no
Don't try to hold it in
You will come back
Stronger this ain't the end
You're gonna find your way
You're like a boomerang
You're like a boomerang
You're gonna find your way
You're like a boomerang (x3)
You're like a boomerang
You're like a boomerang
I know your heart has had enough
You've hit your wall
But you don't have to be tough
Sometimes we just
Need to break down and feel
Let go, take time
So you can start to heal
Go on and throw it out,
Your luck will turn around
Lose control, no
Don't try to hold it in
You will come back
Stronger this ain't the end
You're gonna find your way
You're like a boomerang
You're like a boomerang
You're gonna find your way
You're like a boomerang (x3)
You're like a boomerang
You're like a boomerang
Everybody claps, and I smile, I did it! Chad comes over, and wraps me in the biggest hug ever, lifting me slightly off the ground. "You did terrific! I'm so proud of you," he whispers.
"You're an amazing singer, kiddo," Caleb says, wrapping me in one of his hugs. I smile, "Thanks Caleb!"
Joey walks over to me, "You're a beautiful singer, darling." I blush, "Thanks Joe!" He pulls me in for a hug, "No problem."
"See! I told you you'd do great!" Alan exclaims. I grin widely, "I know. Thanks Alan, I love you." He hugs me back, "No problem, beautiful."
"You did a great job, girlie!" Kelsey exclaims. "Yeah! I had no clue you could sing like that," Fallon adds. I smile, "Thanks. Chad, Alan, and I worked really hard." Brycie grins, "Hun, Alan told me how nervous you were, and I just wanted to compliment you. You're so beautiful." I smile, "Thanks girls!" We all have a group hug.

We all walk into the kitchen for pizza and cake. I flick on the TV, and Girl Meets World plays. We watch a few of those episodes, then everybody heads home.
"Hey honey, how have your online courses been going?" Chad asks. I shrug, "Okay I guess. I don't really understand what I'm supposed to do half the time, though." He rubs his chin, "Why didn't you ask for help? You know I'll help you if I can, and if I can't, somebody else will. We're here for you."
"I know. I was just embarrassed, I should be in 10th grade, but I can't even understand stuff everybody else learned in 8th grade!" I exclaim.
"Alex, it's okay. You're the smartest girl I know, you'll catch on soon. Don't worry, just ask God for help," Chad says, stroking my hair. "I hope so," I sigh.
A/N
Okay so, there will only be one more chapter in this book, and an epilogue. I'm sad to see it end, but at least I'll have time to focus on my other stories. Thank you so much for reading, voting, and commenting! It means the world to me that you guys actually like my writing.
God bless!
