I clung to Levi tightly as his steed galloped across the ruff forest terrain, almost causing me to go plummeting off a couple times. The 4m Titan chased relentlessly to catch it's prize. My body felt cold and started to tremble as I could only imagine the worst. Even the horse showed signs of distress and it wasn't even in any immediate danger. The only one that wasn't panicking was Levi. In fact he seemed calmed, almost relaxed. Everything got darker all of a sudden, I titled my head straight back to see the cause of it. The 4m Titan starred directly down over us, hysteria bursted through me.
"Levi!"
I choked/screamed out, while bouncing up and down on the mount back in hopes it would cause the exhausted animal to go faster.
A soft hiss of frustration escaped his mouth, followed by the swoosh of his 3d gear as he ripped himself from my grasps causing me to sprawl out on top of the mount. My hands frantically searched for anything to hold onto for support as the mighty animal jiggled me across it's back. The 4m Titan snapped it gaping mouth as Levi rocketed pass it, catching only air. With quick precision and skills he sliced off a piece of the 4m Titan at the nape of the neck, sending the monster crashing to the ground that ranged out through the forest. He landed carefully just a couple feet away from the dead Titan body, letting out a low whistle to call his runaway ride back. His mount ignored it's current passenger coming to a sliding stop and quickly U-turning to retrieve it's true owner. It gave a soft happy neigh as it came to a stop in front of him.
"Are you ok?"
He asked giving the large animal soft pats on the shoulder.
I nodded my head yes, giving myself time to collect my senses after the gut wrenching experience. With shaky hands I steadied myself back into a upright position.
"I know your terrified, but for the time being I need you to keep it together. We'll be meeting back up with my squad here shortly. Once we do we can figure out what to do with you then."
I know I didn't have to tell him I was petrified, because it showed all over my face. He swiftly pulled himself back into the saddle and gave a quick cluck, signaling his mount to continue onward.
I superglued myself to him this time, wrapping my trembling arms around his torso and buried my face into the curvature of his back . I felt him flinch a little, my action taking him by surprise. I could hear his steady calm heartbeat, feel the warm from his body on my cheek even through his clothes. The sunlight danced through the tree leaves. The horse's swaying rhythm was soothing my unsettled nerves. I remember thinking "I could stay like this forever" as
suddenly I found myself airborne, twisting and flopping like a fish out of water. I let my body go limp before impact. I hit the ground on my left leg, flopping onto the hard packed earth like a rag doll. For a moment, I imagined I was lying back in my familiar bed. Levi cries brought me back to reality.
"[f/n], [f/n], I need you to get up!"
I slowly sat up my body aching all over. Levi stood a few feet in front of me, blocking the path of the culprit that sent us flying. A 6m Titan had managed to somehow get the drop on us. Levi precious steed laid sprawled out 10ft away dead, it had taken the worst of the assault. The Titan shifted but didn't approach yet. It must be an abnormal. As I went to move my left leg pain shot up throughout my whole body. I unleashed a blood curling scream, that caused Levi to glance over his shoulder concerned.
"My leg broke I cried out."
The Titan took a lingering step towards us. Levi didn't waver a inch.
The fear came rushing back ten folds.
"Levi please don't let me die like this. You can kill it like the last one right."
He kept his main focus on the Titan.
"I used the last bit of my gas on that other Titan from earlier, so I'm not really sure how this is gonna play out."
Even though he spoke about a bad outcome, his words showed no fear. He had already accepted death a long time ago, now he was just waiting for it to present itself. This is it, I'm gonna die here. I could feel the tears streaming down my face.
"Stop crying already, I'm not gonna let you die here. Do you understand me?"
He demanded, getting into a low crouching stance.
Before I could give a reply the Titan charged smashing it face sideways into the ground and dragging it gapping mouth along the earth. It gums flared and it's jaw chomped vigorously. When the chomping death trap finally reached Levi, he mustered enough strength to spring straight up, landing on its face.
It's eyeballs rolled up to where Levi stood, but it continued it's chomping course towards me. I closed my eyes and tensed up as the Titan barreled down towards me. After a minute of still being alive and complete silence I opened my eyes to see the Titan massive teeth just inches from my foot. Levi hopped down from the back of the Titan neck, giving his blades one quick shake before putting them away again. He casually walked over to me kneeling, his hands traveled over my arms and ribs, and then fluttered over my hips. His fingers lingered a smudge too long there, and my happy spot perked up. "Whoa there, bucko."
He smirked as his hands tested my right thigh and ankle. "It seems everything else checks out fine."
"Yeah. Like you'd know."
"I would know. You tend to mend a lot of broken bones in my line of work. He said, still looking me over.
Levi placed a arm around my waist gripping me tightly to his side. He helped me to my one good leg, allowing me to rest most of my weight on him as he walked and I hobbled along side him.
"We are screwed aren't we?"
He chuckled, causing me to stare up at him.
"So he does laugh."
I joked, enjoying this newly discovered side.
"I laugh, when the situation calls for it."
He smirked, giving my side a little squeeze.
"And us screwed, with certain doom pending calls for it huh? I think we need to work on your emotion skills."
I stifled a laugh as the corners of his mouth turn up a little. We had gone about 15ft from where the dead Titan laid, the ground started spinning so rapidly that I thought I was gonna be sick. Black spots started to blur my vision. I could feel Levi struggling to keep me up as my last leg gave out.
The last thing I remembered was Levi calling out my name as I faded into unconscious.

I felt strong hands gripping me and pulling me before I even opened my eyes. I started thrashing my beat up body violently, not sure what had me, but I sure as hell wasn't going down without a fight.
"Cut that crap out or I'll drop you already."
A stern male voice shouted in my ear so loud I was sure I had gone deaf, causing my eyes to shoot open.
A gentleman with long blonde pent up hair and a small beard cradled me as he attempted to remove me from a horse that I had apparently been riding on. His brown eyes showed no softness in them, he also wore the same outfit as Levi.
"Where Levi?"

Levi Pov:

I struggled to keep her unconscious body from falling to the ground and dragging me down with it.
I ran my hand underneath her legs yanking her up to my chest cradling her.
"Your lucky I like you women."
I grunted, carrying her as I slowly made my way through the forest. I heard a voice yell out from above before I actually saw them.
"Hey! I found Captain Levi. He over here."
Miche Zacharius dropped down in front of me.
"I thought that nose of yours could only smell out Titans?"
He pointed behind me in the direction of the two dead Titans.
"That's correct. That's why I followed the scent of every Titan in a mile radius within the forest. I figured I would find you killing one of them. But it looks like that wasn't all you was doing."
He assumed raising an questionable eyebrow, glancing down at [f/n].
"I'm assuming she the reason you suddenly broke formation and disappeared on your team."
He asked, being carefully to choose his words wisely.
"I don't have to explain my actions to anyone. My team more than qualified to handle their own."
I snapped, giving him a glare saying that he really didn't want to cross that line with me.
Petra appeared just in time riding her mount and a extra one in toe. She pulled back on the reins halting them in front of us.
"We started to get worried when you didn't return right away."
She stated, trying not to make it obvious that she was curious about the strange woman in my arms.
"Something came up."
I replied, shoving [f/n] into Miche stomach so hard he grunted, forcing him to take her, before climbing up onto my replacement mount. I stretched a arm out towards him signaling him to return her. He carefully helped me situate her onto the front of my horse, between me and the saddle horn. Her big ass made it a tight fit, but I wasn't one to complain about that kind of thing. A inappropriate thought popped into my mind causing my lower limb to twitch. I quickly shook it from my mind. Not the right place or time.
"Let's head back to base."
I ordered, giving my mount a little tap in the sides and pointing it in the right direction. The bouncing from the horse made things real interesting very fast.
Oh man, was I gonna enjoy this ride back.
