Chapter 6
Dream
The man from before, Crowley, had Y/n strapped to a table. Her arms and legs were bound by chains, a thick flat piece of leather had her throat pressed down and a gag was placed in her mouth, silencing her screams for help. Crowley dragged a heated blade up Y/n's exposed stomach, the heated metal prevented her from bleeding as the scorched flesh was cauterized, but it hurt a hell of a lot more.
She tried screaming for Dean, Sam, and Castiel, she tried praying to him to save her. Crowley chuckled at her feeble attempts to cry for the Winchester boys and their angel pet.
He snapped his fingers with a wicked smile. "Looking for them, darling?" Four demons came in dragging the boys. Sam and Dean were passed out, but it took two demons to hold the vexed angel. The demon that was torturing Y/n grabbed a different blade from the arrangement of tools off the table, it was triangular and silver in color.
He walked up to Castiel and held the blade under his chin at the base of his throat. "Wake up Moose and Squirrel," he told his demons, "I want them to watch their friend die before I kill them." Crowley's henchmen holding Sam and Dean slapped the brothers faces to wake them up, the tired, bruised boys groaned and opened their eyes.
"Hello boys," Crowley smirked smugly. "Glad to see you could join us."
The henchmen chained Sam and Dean to I-beam pillars and walked to guard the door. "What's happening now," Crowley told the boys complacently, "you can blame on that pretty thing." He pointed to the beaten and bloody girl on the table, who began crying.
"Crowley," Dean spoke hoarsely, "don't hurt him."
He weakly looked over at Cas, who was watching Y/n with sad blue eyes. Cas spoke quickly to the small human girl. "Y/n I'll find you—"
Crowley turned quickly and plunged the blade into Castiel's chest. A bright light blue, silvery white light shone from his chest, eyes, and mouth.
It looked like someone was shining a flashlight out from inside his body.
"Cas!" Dean yelled as his friend's body collapsed to the cold concrete floor.
"Crowley you bastard!" Sam's words dripped with venom. Y/n was hysterical, crying harder than she'd ever cried before. The innocent angel was dead. And it was all her fault.
End of Dream
Y/n woke up shaking and silently crying, her eyes darted around and settled on Dean and Sam having a conversation in hushed voices with Castiel. She closed her eyes and listened closely to them, she started to hear their voices clearer.
"Y/n has been sleeping restlessly for the past five hours Dean," that was Castiel's voice, "I'm worried about her."
He's worried about me? Y/n thought, her eyes still closed.
"Give the girl some time Cas," that was Dean.
"Yeah Cas," Sam's voice was heard, "she's been through a lot today."
Someone walked over to the seemingly sleeping form and placed a hand on her head. "Her heart rate is too high to be normal. Dean, we should take her to a hospital." That was Cas again. A sigh was heard and more footsteps sounded close to her. A finger brushed the tears off her face.
"She's been crying..." The angel's voice trailed off. Was he worried about her? A human? Y/n heard the sound of a hand hitting something, it made a clapping sound ring out. "Cas, buddy, Y/n's gonna be fine. She's a strong girl. She can handle herself, besides," Dean paused to take a breath, "you healed her yourself. She's probably having a nightmare." Shuffling was heard. "A nightmare? Or is she seeing the future?" Sam said pessimistically. "She is a prophet after all."
At this point in time, Y/n decided to 'wake up'. She sat up and started crying again, tears were pouring down her cheeks as she choked back a sob and grabbed the closest person to her, which happened to be a surprised angel. Castiel stiffened at the sudden contact, but relaxed and hugged her back, wrapping his arms around her and stroking her hair. The brothers were still confused at the situation, Sam hesitantly asked "Y/n, what's the matter?" She wiped tears from her e/c eyes and sniffled. "I-It was....it was ter... terrible." Y/n sobbed and wiped her eyes again. "You and Dean were all... beaten, a-and Cas was... he was..." She trailed off and buried her face into Cas' shoulder.
"He was what, Y/n?" Dean asked.
"...dead..." She whispered, she didn't trust her shaky voice.
Dean and Sam's eyes widened, "A-And," she continued, "he said... he said it was my fault. That everything that happened to you was my fault..." She held onto Castiel tighter, her h/l h/c strands were matted to her forehead, and the whites of her once shining e/c eyes were red. "Who said it was your fault?" Castiel asked her gently.
"C-Crowley..."
Y/n heard something she'd never thought she'd ever hear, a low deep growl, resonating from the angel's chest. She pulled her head off his shoulder in surprise and looked at Castiel, he looked pissed, but he tried to regain control of his anger. "I'm sorry Y/n," Castiel said flatly. "Dean,"
Dean looked at his friend. "Yeah Cas?"
"Keep an eye on her for me, keep her safe. Can you do that?" Dean nodded, a look of concern showing through his features. "Of course Cas." Castiel looked into Y/n's e/c eyes again, stroking her h/l h/c hair.
"Cas," Y/n stuttered our through light sobs. "What's the matter?" Castiel smiled softly at the prophet. "I'll be back, okay?" Castiel rested his forehead on hers, looking into her eyes, "Please," he whispered to her, closing his eyes. "Be safe. Live, for me." With those last words, and the sound of flapping wings, he was gone.
"Why is he so angry?" Y/n asked to no one in particular. Sam walked behind her and patted her back. "He loves you Y/n, he loves you a lot." This made her tears fall faster, she turned and sobbed into Sam's chest. He rubbed her back comfortingly, and looked to Dean for help. The older Winchester clears his throat, "Y/n you must be hungry, seeing as lunch was kinda interrupted." He chuckled awkwardly. "What do you want to eat?" Y/n pulled away from Sam and rubbed her tears from her eyes.
"Do you have any Mac and Cheese?" It was Sam that laughed this time. "No, but I'm sure we can go buy some. Go get cleaned up, take a shower, change your clothes. We'll be outside." He walked her to the closet where all of the clothes were, there were many flannels of varying colors. They were bound to be too big for her but, she chose one anyway. It was a dark red flannel with black stripes. "You guys really love flannel." She told Sam and Dean. "Yeah," Dean replied, "that's 'cause flannel is awesome." She rolled her eyes at him and grabbed a fluffy towel from the linen closet.
Walking into the bathroom and closing the door, Y/n stripped off her bloody shirt and let it fall, doing the same with her pants and undergarments. She shivered and rubbed her arms, feeling the coldness of the tile under her feet, she quickly cranked the shower on high and stepped in. Feeling the warm water relax her muscles, she sighed in content.
After finishing the comforting shower Y/n walked out of the bathroom wearing the red and black flannel that was too big and baggy, and her black leggings, seeing as she couldn't wear the boys' pants. Plopping on the bed, she ran her fingers through her damp h/c hair, and thought about Castiel.
Would he hear me if I prayed to him? She asked herself, deciding she'd try it out later tonight before bed. The growling that came from her stomach reminded her that she needed to eat, so she laced up her f/c high top converse and headed out the door to the boys. "About damn time," Dean said, making Sam hit his shoulder. "I'm just joking Sam, what the hell. That kinda hurt." He rubbed his arm and opened the front door of the Impala, climbing in and gesturing for the other two to get in the car as well. "Haven't got all day guys, let's go." As Dean started the car, and Sam and Y/n got in, Metallica player over the stereo. "Seriously Dean?" Sam asked, grabbing a box from the dashboard. "Black Sabbath, Metallica? You need to update your cassette tape collection." Dean's face scrunched up in mock confusion."Why?" Sam sighed "Well they're cassette tapes for one thing." Dean chuckled at his younger brother. "Driver picks the music," he snatched the box from Sam, "shotgun shuts his cake hole." This made Y/n giggle. They pulled out of the parking spot and out of the motel parking lot, heading the direction of the nearest store.

The nearest store was a Kroger's about ten minutes away from the motel, as they made their way into it, Dean grabbed a basket instead of a cart, seeing as they were only buying Mac and Cheese. Y/n lead the way to the pasta isle and crabbed Kraft Shells and Cheese macaroni. She hummed happily and handed it to Dean, who in turn put it in the basket.
"We need pie." Was all he stated before walking to the pastry and baking isle. Sam sighed and followed, Y/n following behind him. When Sam rounded the corner to the next isle he ran into someone, making them drop what they were balancing in their hands. He immediately dropped down to help pick up their groceries. "I'm am so sorry! I didn't see where I was going." The voice belonged to a girl, she looked up at Sam, her face beet red. Her hair was long and black, she had blue eyes and freckles covering her lightly tanned skin. Sam looked at her and paused for a minute before replying back. "Don't worry about it, it was my fault. Here." He handed her a box of sweets that she dropped and stood up. She cradled some of the boxes in one arm and stuck out her hand, which Sam shook.
"My name is Kelsey."
"Sam."
At that moment, Dean came up behind Kelsey and looked at Sam with a questioning look. "Sammy?" He asked. Kelsey got startled and shrieked, this made Y/n shriek too. Dean and Sam covered their ears. "Shut up!" Dean yelled and covered Kelsey's mouth and Sam turned around to cover Y/n's mouth, shutting them up. Y/n started laughing, even though it was muffled by Sam's hand. This was a good trip to the store.
After Dean got his pie and Y/n got her Mac and Cheese, they headed to the checkout station. Kelsey and Sam walked behind them side by side, talking about random stuff. Y/n's mind drifted to Castiel, she unconsciously started praying to him. Cas, please make it home safe. I need you, please... She quoted him in her mind. Live, for me. The cashier gave her the single bag containing her Mac and Cheese, Y/n thanked her and went outside to the Impala to wait for the others. On her way out she saw a homeless man with a sign that read:
Angels are watching over you.
This made Y/n think of Castiel, so she gave the man a ten dollar bill. The man's eyes widened. "Thank you miss," his pale eyes started tearing up. "Thank you so much." Y/n smiled at the nice man. "You take care now sir." She told him, he nodded and thanked her once more. As she neared the shiny, black car, she stumbled, her vision was murky, it felt like she was looking through a glass of watered down milk.
But her mind saw flashes of things, Castiel and Crowley fighting, Crowley getting the upper hand, him knocking the angel out, and finally, him Crowley torturing Castiel.
Y/n blacked out in the middle of the road.
