Chapter 3

Y/n kept staring at Castiel, he had bright blue vibrant eyes and dark hair to contrast it. He wore a tan trench coat over a dark blue suit with a matching tie and a white undershirt. Castiel stared back, mesmerized by the woman in front of him. He'd been stationed on Earth for many centuries, seen hundreds of thousands of women, but never had he seen one as beautiful as her. Her shining e/c eyes, beautiful h/l h/c hair, the way she would shyly look away when they made eye contact.

Dean looked between the two. "Uh hello?" He clapped his hands, feasibly getting the attention of everyone in the room. "We've still got a demon problem, yeah? Can we get to work?"

Y/n looked over at the brothers, opening her mouth to start a sentence before her stomach growled loudly. She closed her mouth immediately and looked down, a blush dusting her cheeks. "Well Dean," Sam patted Dean's back, chuckling, "looks like our prophet is hungry. Let's go get some grub okay? Then we'll worry about the demon." Castiel was still staring at Y/n when she faced him, making her jump.

"Um..." She paused for a second before asking a quiet question: "What's a prophet?"

Castiel stared at her for a moment more and answered. "Did Crowley have a stone tablet? It would have had strange markings on it." Y/n nodded meekly. "I tried reading it, like he told me, but the words gave me a headache. I only made out a few words before you," she paused, looking up at the angel. "Can I call you Cas?" She asked quickly, to which he nodded, and she continued. "Until you came to get me. Thanks for that by the way."

Castiel looked at Dean. "He got his hands on a tablet, we need to figure out which one." He turned back to Y/n. "What words did you see, Y/n?" Y/n's heart fluttered when he said her name. What is wrong with me? Calm down heart! She released that everyone was still waiting for an answer. "Oh um... it said... 'Demon Tablet'? And something about closing gates... I'm not sure. It was all pretty fuzzy." Sam looked at Y/n with a sort of sympathetic look. "It's okay Y/n , you've been through a lot today. Let's go get some food." Sam and Dean stood up and made their way outside, leaving the prophet and the angel alone in the room. Y/n cleared her throat, getting the attention of him. "Cas." She said quietly, he raised his eyebrows "Yes?" Y/n walked over to him and hugged him, sniffling as she started crying. "Thank you for saving me. I didn't think I was going to leave alive." He slowly hugged her back, patting her hair awkwardly to comfort her.

"I heard your prayer. If a different angel had picked up your signal, you probably wouldn't have been so lucky, but," he stopped mid sentence, stroking Y/n's hair gently to calm her. "There was something different about you, I could sense it. So I came as quickly as possible." Y/n pulled away from the hug to look at the blue eyed angel.

"Cas...." She said quietly, staring into his eyes. He stared back, looking into her e/c eyes as if they held the universe in them. They stared at each other for a while before "Cas! Y/n! You coming? I want some pie!" Dean's voice drifted in from outside, causing the two to break away from each other and walk out to the Impala. "Wow," Y/n said amazed at the car, "it's so pretty." A smile was plastered on her face, Dean looked at her and chuckled, patting the hood. "She's a beauty, ain't she?" She nodded, her h/l h/c hair swishing with the movement.

Sam shook his head and got in the passenger seat. Dean got behind the driver's wheel, and Castiel got in the back. Y/n hesitantly got into the back with Cas, looking out the window after buckling up. Sam looked at Y/n. "So little miss," he said while smiling at her. "What do you want to eat?"

Castiel glared at Sam for being so sweet with Y/n. What am I thinking, what are these feelings? I barely know her. The angel thought, he balled his hands into fists on his lap and looked at them, he was very confused about what was going through his head. He decided to ask Dean later. Y/n thought for a moment. "Um, pizza? Something sweet? I don't know." Dean looked in the mirror. "How about Bigerson's? They've got a lot of food! And pie." This made Y/n laugh. "You sure love pie, don't you Dean?"

He smirked as he turned the key in the ignition making the car rumble to life.

The drive to the restaurant was long and quiet, nobody said a word. Y/n was thinking about home, sneaking glances at Castiel, and thinking about Levi.

He must be hungry. Poor kitty. I need my shoes, and my socks. I don't have them with me... dammit I left them by the door...

Cas heard her thoughts and headed to Y/n's home. He looked around first for the cat, searching her bedroom. He admired her bedspread. There was a mint green comforter with black sheets. A white blanket lay folded up on the foot of the bed. The small cat that was napping in her arm chair jumped up when it heard Castiel come into the room. He leapt from the chair to the bed and walked up to him curiously, Castiel noticed the black ball and held his hand out for the cat to smell. He had seen a higher angel, Naomi, tame big cats this way.

Castiel spoke to the cat. "You must be Y/n's animal. Come, I'm here to take you to her." Levi sniffed his hand and rubbed against it, Castiel took this as a sign and picked up the small creature. He glanced at the dresser, noticing how all the drawers were labeled, and pulled open the drawer labeled 'socks'. As the label held true to its name the entire drawer was stocked to the brim with mated socks, he grabbed a few pairs. Castiel then walked to the front door and spotted a pair of f/c converse and picked them up, before taking out his cellphone and dialing Dean's number. It rang a few times before he heard Dean speak. "Cas where the hell are you? You just ran off." He sounded agitated.

"My location doesn't matter, where are you?"

"We're at Bigerson's in Columbus wh-" he willed himself there, landing next to Y/n holding her cat and her shoes. Dean looked at the angel like he was crazy. "Cas what are you holdli—"

Y/n gasped happily: "Levi!" She took the cat out of Cas' arms and held him, Levi nuzzled her cheek, purring happily. Sam looked at the cat. "Cas why do you get a cat?" Castiel looked at Y/n's smiling face. "She wanted her cat, I could hear it in her thoughts. She was worried about him." Dean gave Cas the 'I'll talk to you later' look and walked inside, Sam followed suit. Castiel handed Y/n her shoes, she put them on. Then he ushered the happy girl inside the restaurant, her radiating smile etched into his memory.
