Chapter 17

Bobby had Dean show Y/n and Kelsey where their rooms were upstairs since he was confined to a wheelchair, and so the three adults slept for the night, Castiel holding Y/n and watching over her until the sun peaked over the horizon.

-----

Y/n woke in Cas' arms and for the first time since she had her first vision, she didn't have any bad dreams. "Morning Cas." She yawned and snuggled her head into the crook of Castiel's neck. "Morning Y/n." He replied back as he rubbed imaginary circles into her shoulder blades. Y/n sighed contentedly as a small smile made its way to her face; she really didn't want to move. "We need to wake Sam and Dean." Cas said softly, his breath tickling the tip of Y/n's ear. Y/n groaned softly, but sat up anyways, stretching her arms and feeling satisfied with the pops in her joints. The T-shirt that she had changed into earlier that morning was about three sizes too big for her and was falling off her left shoulder, exposing her new tattoo. The skin around the tattoo was red and raw, so Y/n decided to dig through her duffle bag and grab the tube of aquaphor out of the side compartment. She flipped the cap off the container and squeezed the correct amount of aquaphor on her palm, shuddering at the coldness and texture of the goop. She then applied a coat of the stuff on her tattoo and the skin around it, feeling almost instant relief as the cool medicine made contact with her exposed skin. Levi, who had gotten out in the middle of their slumber, was nowhere to be found. "Kitty," Y/n sighed as she walked around the house in nothing but the shirt and her underwear, searching for her beloved cat.

Making her way downstairs Y/n stopped suddenly when she heard soft snoring coming from the living room. She had paused herself halfway through going down another step, her right leg poised over the second to last step in the wooden staircase.

Once more, the sound of soft peaceful snoring made its way to Y/n's ears. She thought it was okay to continue, and made it the rest of the way downstairs.

The living room was large and spacious, providing a home to three large bookcases, a desk and light, a large window fixture facing the front yard, a small chandelier, and a black leather couch. The couch was pushed up against the wall facing away from the large window, and a sleeping figure was cooped up underneath the covers. It was Bobby. His hat was set on the floor at the base of the couch, and a small lump was resting on his chest, Levi was curled up and purring softly at the rise and fall of Bobby's chest with each breath. They looked so peaceful.

I can't just wake them up.

Y/n smiled down at their sleeping forms. Maybe Bobby could take care of Levi for me? The thought just popped into Y/n's mind as she saw how content they looked. She kept staring for so long that she didn't know that Cas had crept up behind her until she felt him nuzzle his head into the crook of her neck, planting a gentle kiss at the base of her throat. Y/n hummed warmly, leaning her head back so it rested on Cas' shoulder. "What are you think about, love?" Cas asked quietly, making Y/n smile softly at her nickname. "I️ was thinking about where to leave Levi. I️ can't have him dying because of my lifestyle choice."

Cas thought for a moment, seemingly interested in Bobby as he stared at him. "I'm sure Bobby wouldn't mind taking care of him. His mind seems... calmer, when Levi is around." Y/n snuck a small glance up at Cas and stood on her tip toes to kiss his cheek. The angel wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tight from behind. "I love you so damn much Y/n." He whispered into her hair as he closed his eyes, contentment washing over his features. "I love you too, Castiel."

After everybody had woken up Y/n asked Bobby a question that was difficult for her, about Levi staying with him, and Bobby gratefully accepted. Then he handed Y/n and Kelsey their FBI badges along with Homeland Security, Secret Service, and National Wildlife badges. He also slipped Bluetooth earwigs into everyone's bags. Now they were on their way to the case in Oregon.

The gang pulled into a motel six to set up their make shift "headquarters" for their stay in Oregon. As the Impala came to a stop Dean turned around and stared at the three people in the back seat. "Alright," he started giving out jobs. "Kelsey and Y/n, go out and get snacks and drinks. Don't forget the pie." Y/n rolled her eyes, desperately wanting to escape the metal box on wheels she had been trapped in. "There's a market across the street, here's the card." Dean reached into his pocket and pulled out a gold credit card, which Y/n took.

"Jim Morrison? Alright The Doors..." Y/n chuckled at Dean's name choice as she stepped out of the car.

"Yeah yeah, go get some food." Dean grumbled as he, and Sam unloaded the computers and police radio into the room while Cas went to rent the room for the week. " 'Ey, and grab a case of beer would 'ya?" Dean shouted as they climbed over the cracked sidewalk towards the road.

"Sure Dean, sure." Y/n called back.

Kelsey and Y/n walked across the street, after making sure it was safe, to the small cozy market that sat between two large oak trees, the trees provided a large shade over the parking lot because the sun was behind the market. Y/n opened the door and held it open for Kelsey, then making weird faces at one another. "Why thank you Madame!" Kelsey jokingly said in an absolutely dreadful British accent. "Why, it's no problem dearie!" Y/n replied in a just as awful accent.

"Welcome to Mashy Mart," an annoyed male voice called out to the two from behind the counter. "My name is Elmer, how may I help you?" The cashier behind the counter was tall and thin with tan skin and blonde hair, and he really looked like he didn't want to be there. "It's alright, we can find the stuff we need." Kelsey politely smiled to the man.

"Suit your fucking self then." Elmer frowned and lit a cigarette, a look of disgust flashed across Y/n's features.

"What the fuck is his problem?" Y/n whispered to Kelsey, the girls started laughing. The two of them continued to laugh as they walked through the store, picking out snacks like popcorn and chips before also grabbing healthy snacks like apples and trail mix. They also grabbed multiple bottles of water and one case of beer for Dean, Y/n remembered to grab Dean's beloved apple pie from a fridge before they checked out.

When the cashier saw the name on the credit card, he stared at Y/n weirdly. "Jim Morrison?" He asked as he eyed Y/n's figure. "Hehe, yeah. That's my brother-in-law's card, we're on a road trip." Y/n lied straight through her teeth. The cashier muttered a few choice words and bagged their items after I.D.'ing Y/n to make sure she wasn't underaged, then handed the girls their bags filled with snacks and drinks. "Have a good day," he scowled. "Thank you for choosing Mashy Mart for all your shopping needs."

As the door shut and the two left Elmer took a long inhalation of smoke before exhaling and glaring at the door. "Get the fuck outta here." He muttered quietly as he grabbed a broom and started sweeping the store, only stopping when he came to the baking section of the store. He moved the cigarette from his lips and let an aggravated sigh escape his throat.

"Thanks to whoever took a shit on isle six!"

Y/n and Kelsey carried the bags and case of beer across the street to the motel the Winchester's were staying in. When the two got there Y/n tapped her foot against the door because her hands were full.

"Open up Hasselhoff!" She called out jokingly as she moved the case of alcohol behind her back.

Dean cracked open the door with a sour look on his face. "Why should I?" He asked bitterly, his eyebrows were knitted together.

"'Cus I have the alcohol!" She snickered.

The door opened as Dean walked back to the table, muttering profanities as he went. "What's got Dean in a such a sour mood?" Y/n whispered to Sam as they set the bags down on the counter of their 'kitchen'. "He tried to get a girl's number and she flipped him off." Sam snickered. "He's never been rejected like that before." Y/n let out a short laugh and quickly put all the foods and drinks away into their respective cabinets. "Are we ready to go investigate?" Dean glanced up at Y/n from the top of his coffee mug, which held disgustingly bitter coffee. "Mhm." He mumbled through his beverage before setting it down on the table with a bitter face.

"Ugh, that's terrible coffee." He muttered to himself.

"Let's get changed and then we'll head out." He spoke as he stood and walked over to his suitcase, pulling out a black suit and tie. "Y/n, Cas and I will go to the coroner's office to check out the most recent body. Sam and Kelsey, you guys ask around town to see if anything weird was happening with Dewey prior to his death. Teach Kelsey the ropes." He heaved a deep sigh and glanced over at Y/n.

"I rented out the room next to us for you and Cas." Y/n's face heated up a significant amount. "Please for the love of god don't wake us up in the middle of the night with your screaming." Y/n's face could now beat a ripe tomato on the red scale of things. She chucked a half-full container of apple juice at his head, which he caught by the neck. "That's not nice." He smirked and unscrewed the cap before chugging the rest of the beverage, then wiped his mouth with a burp. "Whatever." Y/n dug through the plastic bag and pulled out her black pantsuit, admiring the crisp fabric before grabbing the rest of her luggage, if you could call it that.

It was literally a plastic bag with her old, ripped up clothes.

I really need to go shopping. Y/n thought as she walked outside to the room next door. As she rose her fist to knock on the door, it swung open to reveal Cas. He wasn't wearing his usual outfit. Instead of his trench coat and suit, he opted to change into a light grey tight tee shirt and black lounging pants; the five-o'-clock shadow was very prominent and his dark hair was tousled slightly.

He looked hot.

"O-Oh, Hey Cas." Y/n stuttered out as she fiddled with the hem of her shirt. "Hello, Y/n." Cas smoothly said, his icy blue eyes drinking in her appearance. "Would you come in?" He politely asked, stepping out of the doorframe and gesturing her to come inside. Y/n nodded bashfully and quietly walked inside the motel room. This room looked very different than Dean, Sam, and Kelsey's room.

Instead of bleak white wallpaper the walls were covered in dark red wallpaper with gold designs etched from the ceiling to the floor. A single large king sized bed with black bedding and a dark oak frame was set where two full beds normally sat, and at either side sat nightstands with small lamps on them, the lights set to low. "It's beautiful." Y/n whispered. She felt muscular arms snake around her waist and Cas' stubble brushing against her neck, he hummed into the base of her throat. "Not as beautiful as you." He trailed small kisses up her neck and just as he was going to place a kiss on her full lips, a loud knock sounded at the door.

"Open up lovebirds!" Dean's sarcastic tone could be heard through the door. "We have an investigation to get on with!"

Y/n scrambled out of Cas' embrace and rushed to get her pantsuit on, running to the bathroom to change. When she exited Cas stood there in his suit and trench coat, and he captured her in his steel grip. "This isn't over." He promised as he placed a heated kiss on her lips.
