Chapter 16
S/n- sibling's name
Y/n woke with a short scream as she clenched her hand around where her heart was, Castiel immediately moved over to her side to comfort her. "What did you see, love?" He asked her gently. "W-Who's..." Y/n trailed off her sentence, trying to catch her breath. She felt wetness on her face and wiped it off, she didn't even realize that she had been crying. "Who's Naomi?" She asked Cas quietly. Castiel stiffened at the sound of her name, his whole body became ridged and his muscles tight.
"She's... she's one of my sisters, one of my higher ups. What did you see, Y/n?" She thought back to it, seeing the pale s/t skinned, h/c haired boy. "There was... a child. Our child..." Castiel's bright blue eyes widened. A child? His eyes closed tightly in realization. A Nephilim child. Cas pinched the bridge of his nose between his index finger and thumb. The mother never survives the birthing process... I wonder... His head snapped up and he looked Y/n right in the eyes. "Y/n this is very important. Were you there in the vision?" She nodded, but quickly looked at the bed in front of her. "Not for very long though. I... died." A small tear escaped Y/n's e/c hues, as a sadness washed over her like a tidal wave. Castiel hesitated before asking a quiet question. "...How?" Y/n looked up at Cas, her eyes glazed over as she sobbed. "N-Naomi, she... stabbed me to death."
Castiel was confused and concerned. "How old was the child?" He asked as he moved onto the bed to sit in front of his mate. Now it was Y/n's turn to be confused. "Um... eight? Or nine? Why, what's the matter Cas?" Castiel cupped Y/n's cheeks with his hands as he wiped her tears away with his thumbs. "The mother usually doesn't survive giving birth to a Nephilim, it usually kills her in the process. But if you survived... we could have a family." Cas whispered the last part to himself, happy but still unsure of what this meant. Y/n spoke again to get Castiel's attention. "There's another thing..." Cas looked up at Y/n's face, mesmerized by every detail. "Yes, love?" Y/n sighed, looking out the window. "It had been many many years in the future. Everybody I knew, except for you... they were dead. They died from old age." Castiel was again confused, how would Y/n possibly survive that long? His face told Y/n what he was thinking: he was confused as well. No human could possibly live to be that old, let alone old enough to have a child and still be healthy. What exactly happens in the future?
Their conversation was interrupted by Sam and Dean walking through the door holding food in their hands. "Hey, you're awake." Dean said with a mouthful of greasy fries, making Y/n drool. "Don't worry, we got you something too." Sam chuckled and held out a bag from Burger King, and Y/n snatched it out of his hands. Looking inside, Y/n found a (veggie burger/whopper) and large fries. She squealed with excitement at the food and begun digging into her lunch/dinner, then she realized something; What time is it... what day is it? Where are we? "Hey Cas," she asked her angel boyfriend while munching on a mouthful of fries. "What day is it?" Castiel looked up from his hands, there was a twinkle in his eyes. "It's Saturday, September 2, 2017. It's about nine PM." Y/n's eyes widened, it was S/n's birthday! S/n was her older sister/brother, and he/she was turning 35. "I need to call my sister/brother! Where's my..." she realized she hadn't had her phone for about four days. Her boss was gonna be pissed at her. "Shit." She said to herself while throwing on her beat up converse and running outside, scrounging through her pockets for some change, but finding none. "Dean!" She yelled back to the motel room. "What?!" He replied loudly, sticking his head out the door. "Give me some change!" Y/n yelled back as she neared a phone booth, turning to face the motel and tapping her foot.
About three minutes later and Dean was jogging with his bow legs up to Y/n, she could hear the change jingling in his loose grip. "Finally!" Y/n exclaimed as Dean dropped the coins into her awaiting palm. "Thank you." She quickly turned and dropped the quarters into the coin slot before punching in S/n's number into the telephone. Holding the phone up to her ear, Y/n silently pleading that her sibling wouldn't scold her. "Hello?" S/n's voice rang into Y/n's ears. "S/n?" Y/n asked timidly, preparing for the yelling to start. "Y/n?!" S/n exclaimed and, of course, yelled into Y/n's ear, making her pull the phone slightly away from her head. "Happy birthday. I almost forgot to call you." Y/n laughed nervously, running her hand through her hairiness an attempt to calm her nerves. "Where the hell have you been?! Jackson called us and told us you didn't make it into work for the past couple of days, the police are looking for you!" Y/n's eyes became wide, small tears forming in the corners of her e/c hues. She didn't realize the impact she had made on people. "Y-You called the police?" Y/n asked her sister/brother quietly. "Yes, now where are you? I don't recognize this number, did you get taken?"
Y/n let out a huff of breath, a small cloud forming in front of her face. "You could say that." She said almost silently. "What was that? You need to speak up Y/n." S/n asked snappily, Y/n could hear their mother in the background. "Yeah mom, it's Y/n. I'm trying to figure out where she is." After a small silence, Y/n could hear her mom's frantic voice through the receiver. "Y/n, baby are you alright? Are you hurt?" She fired question after question at Y/n, causing her to let out a curt laugh. "No mom, I'm okay, I promise. I had to go out of town on short notice and forgot to bring my phone, it's still at my house." She could hear her mom and S/n conversing in the background, faint words like trace and location made their way to Y/n's ears, making her slowly realize the situation. She had to make an excuse to hang up. "Damn mom, my ride is about to leave. I need to go." Y/n said quickly, making Dean cock an eyebrow at her. She held up her finger at him to hang on. "I love you alright?" Her mom's voice became nervous. "Sweetie don't go. At least tell me where you are!" Y/n made up a location on the fly. "I'm in Seattle, look mom I really need to be going. I love you." She hung up the phone after that sentence and ran back to the motel room while dragging Dean behind her.
As they entered the hotel room, Sam looked up at the two from his laptop. Castiel turned his head away from the window at the side of the room, when his eyes reached Y/n's, his eyes glowed. When he sensed the tension in Y/n, however, his eyebrows knitted together. "Are you alright love?" Y/n immediately ran over to him and buried her face in his shoulder, sobbing quietly. Cas' eyes widen and he held Y/n tightly. "Shh, shh," He tried to calm her, "what's the matter?" Y/n looked Cas in the face. "My mom has someone tracing me, I don't know who they are." She didn't know why it bothered her so much, but it just nagged at the back of her mind. Sam patted Y/n on the back as a sign of comfort. "It's alright, we'll just need to be more careful from now on." Y/n nodded, and turned to look at Sam. "Where are we?" She asked curiously. "Near Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Close to where Bobby lives." Sam answered her question and simultaneously shook Kelsey awake from her slumber on the couch. Kelsey groaned in protest. "No, I don't wanna wake up." Sam rolled his eyes and hoisted Kelsey over her shoulder, making her shriek loudly. "You put me down asshole!" The entire encounter made Y/n laugh at how they interacted.
"What about the case? Or Crowley?" Saying the name made Y/n's blood run cold. Dean ran fingers through his hair and continued read the adult magazine that he had picked up at the store. "We checked on Crowley while you were out, he skipped town. As for the case, I'd say that we have about a week to find the son of a bitch and kill it before it goes back into hibernation for another twenty years." Y/n nodded and leant onto Cas' shoulder, making him wrap an arm around her small frame. "I think we should get going," Cas stated. "Bobby still lives about three hours away, after all." Dean and Sam, who was still holding a thrashing Kelsey over his shoulder, nodded in agreement.
---Time Skip---
After Sam got Kelsey to calm down and get dressed, everybody piled into the black Chevy Impala and they were on the road.
---Another Time Skip: At Sioux Falls---
It was a little past midnight when the Impala pulled into a dirt driveway, a sign hung above the drive that read: "Singer Auto". That must be Bobby's last name. Y/n thought to herself, making Cas snap his head to look at Y/n with his piercing blue eyes. "Yes you are correct, Singer is Bobby's last name." He said as casually as ever. "Cas!" Y/n frowned slightly, crossing her arms in front of her. "Don't go poking around in my head, it's weird." Cas looked at the ground and furrowed his eyebrows slightly. "I apologize, I won't do it again." Y/n drew circles on his palm with her thumb, as an apology to her snapping at him. "I'm sorry Cas, you're alright." The car slowly came to a stop and Dean turned off the purring engine. "Alright," he started. "Whatever you do, don't stare at him." He said directly to Kelsey and Y/n. "Understood?" Kelsey nodded and Y/n uttered a small "yes" in reply. "Good."
As the group stepped out of the car, the door to the house swung open, revealing a man in a black wheelchair. "Boys." He smiled at Sam, Dean, and Cas before looking at Y/n and Kelsey. "You brought guests?" He asked. Dean walked up the ramp attached to where the stairs used to be and knelt down to hug Bobby. "Heya Bobby, yeah that's Kelsey," he pointed to the shorter female next to Sam. "That's Sam's girlfriend, and that's Y/n," he pointed to Y/n who stood next to Castiel. "That's Cas' girl." Bobby smirked at the sight of Cas and Y/n. "So Feathers finally got a girl, huh?" Bobby jokingly nudged Dean with his elbow and chuckled a hearty chuckle. "Well I'll be damned." Sam made a snarky remark. "You were, remember?" Bobby's smile became wider and he laughed a little bit, the crow's feet at the corners of his eyes deepening. "Yeah I guess I was, wasn't I?" Y/n wasn't sure if that was literal or not, but she decided not to ask. Bobby turned around his wheelchair and started pulling himself inside the house. "Come on in," he said to everyone. "Let's get you fellas some rooms to sleep."
I absolutely hate author's notes. They're kinda repulsive in my opinion so I'll make this short. Someone pointed out a flaw I meant to fix earlier, that the reader called S/n's mother 'Mom'. I meant in an adoptive way, that S/n's mother took the reader in as her own. I apologize for any confusion.
