Chapter 12
Sam and Dean's eyes widened at Cas' sudden display of affection to Y/n, and suddenly, it clicked in Sam's mind. "Wait, Dean... were they... doing that earlier...?" He whispered to his older brother. "Nah," Dean replied, running his hand through his dirty blonde hair. "Just, ya know... making out." He glanced over at the couple to find the angel glaring at him with his celestial, glowing, blue eyes.
"What?"
"Dean, I do not appreciate you telling my business to anyone. Stop. Talking." Castiel snapped at the shorter male, who was in fact taller than him by a few inches. Castiel was running his hands through Y/n's soft h/c hair as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Cas..." Y/n whispered in his ear as she rubbed his back. "Please calm down." She pulled from the hug to look him in the eye, ruffling the fringe on the top of his head. "You're eyes are glowing again." She ran her thumb across his cheek. Castiel looked her back in her e/c eyes and sighed, his eyes going back to their light blue. Castiel sighed, nuzzling his face into Y/n's neck and quietly muttered. "I'm sorry."
Y/n ran her fingers through Cas' brown hair. "It's okay Castiel, just calm down." The angel nodded and hummed in reply. His breath passed by Y/n's neck and she shivered at how warm it was compared to the room. She closed her eyes as her breathing slowed, listening to his vessel's heart beating in a nice, calm rhythm. Y/n quickly fell asleep.
Cas noticed that Y/n had stopped talking for a while and tried to look at her face, which was laying against his chest. She was breathing evenly, but tiredly, and her beautiful shining e/c eyes were closed.
"She's asleep." Cas said to no one in particular. Sam and Dean, who were having a conversation of their own, overheard.
"So, are we going on a new case anytime soon?" Dean asked Sam as he attempted to wipe the sleep from his face. Which was going poorly.
"I don't know Dean—" He fought off a yawn. "We could check the news for anything weird later." Kelsey was asleep again, on the floor, her light snores making Sam smile.
"Why not check now?" Dean kept patting his knees impatiently. "We're all up. Well..." He trailed off as he glanced around the room at the sleeping women, "Most of us are up." Sam sighed and got out of bed before walking over to a small table next to the window for his laptop. He sat down and opened the computer, squinting as his brown eyes adjusted to the new found light source.
"Ummm..." Sam typed a few keys into the search bar on his computer. "There was a brutal death in Deschutes County, Oregon where a man, Dewey Morris age 31, got attacked and killed in a National Forest near a lake called 'Lava Lake'." He paused to breathe and scroll the page down more. "Local authorities wrote it off as just another bear attack, but the same thing happened twenty years prior in 1997, to a man named Roy Wilson, age 32 and twenty years before that in 1977, another man named Edward Nikols, age 30."
Dean soaked up all the information like a sponge. "So this thing kills, every twenty years?" Sam nodded, not even bothering to look up from the screen in front of him. "Just like clockwork." Dean stood up and walked over to his bag of clothes. "Well I do believe we have a case." He bent down and grabbed his bag before walking into the bathroom to shower.
It was about 5 in the morning when Sam tickled Kelsey awake. "Sam! Stop... Stop it I can't breathe!" Kelsey was pleading as Sam tickled her behind her knees, which was her most ticklish spot.
"Then get up." Sam retorted, smiling like an idiot. "We have a case."
Kelsey nodded frantically, desperately needing air, as Sam got off her. Y/n and Castiel, on the other hand, was a different story entirely.
Her and Castiel ended up with his back on the bed, Y/n still on top of him. The angel was running his right hand through her h/l h/c hair, while his left one was wrapped around her waist. Her legs still on either side of him, and her arms were latched onto his shoulders, as if he'd disappear if she let go.
Castiel was perfectly content with the position they were in, he didn't want to move, but something inside the pit of his stomach knotted with a weird feeling Cas had never experienced before. Something in his body ached for Y/n, something he didn't understand yet. Something... almost primal.
"Y/n." Castiel whispered in her ear as he carefully shook her awake. "It's time to wake up." Y/n let out a groan of protest and shifted her weight, slightly opening her e/c eyes. "But..." She yawned tiredly. "I don't wanna get up yet. I'm comfortable here."
Cas slowly sat up, a whining Y/n holding onto him, her arms wrapping around his neck. "Cas." She drew out the 's' in his nickname, sounding like a child. "Please?" Castiel shook his head no and pressed a light kiss to the bare skin on her neck, causing her to shudder slightly. Thankfully, Cas didn't notice. Or at least she didn't think he did. "We've got a case to work on. Sam, Dean, and Kelsey are already up." Y/n composed herself and rested her forehead against his, a light blush adorning her cheeks. "Well good for them... I'm still tired." Cas closed his eyes and pressed his lips against Y/n's, making her do the same. When he pulled away, Y/n was more flustered than ever. He leaned down to whisper to her again. "Please get dressed?"
She nodded meekly. "Yeah okay... I'll... go do that." Y/n got up and headed to the bathroom.
Sam was astonished."Cas. Where'd you learn to be such a smooth talker?" He asked.
"I learned it from the pizza man."
"Well!" Dean clapped his hands together awkwardly and changed the subject. "The ladies are gonna need more clothes if they're going to be tagging along on cases. I suggest going to the clothes store first."
--------------------
In the glorious state of Kansas, there also lay many shops for clothes and shoes. The boys suggested leaving Levi at the motel, but Y/n refused, insisting that she'd carry her kitten in a small bag that was laying around the motel room.
"How's he gonna breathe?" Dean asked Y/n, who cocked her hip and rested her hand on it. "Give me a knife." Dean's eyes narrowed as he handed the tiny girl the sharp tool which he produced from the sheath at his belt. She took it from him with a small smile.
"Why thank you, Hasselhoff."
Her remark made Sam laugh once again, making him snort his coffee up his nose; he coughed and cursed the hot liquid. "God dammit! That's hot!" Kelsey sauntered out of the bathroom with a towel on her head. "And so am I." She sounded smug. Sam turned to her, and she chortled loudly at his appearance.
Coffee was running down from his mouth to his chest, making the fabric of his shirt stick to his skin. And his pants had a large, rather dark, spots on his thighs. "Oh for the love of Cas' father!" The shorter woman said between laughs as Sam bolted from his chair to get a towel.
"You're a special kind of stupid Sam." Y/n muttered as she carefully cut a small square of fabric from the bag, about as big as her palm, so Levi could could stick his head out. After Y/n placed a few soft towels into the bag and placed her pet inside, she scooped up the bag in one hand and held Castiel's hand in the other.
"Alright," she sighed happily, "let's get going."
