Acrimonious || Billy Tepper

You weren't sure what bothered you the most about this day.

Generally, life seemed to be mediocre at best, but today was just awful. You couldn't wait to go back to your room and drown in your sorrows.

Honestly, screw this day. At least that's what you kept telling yourself, but the pain wouldn't leave.

No matter much you tried to convince yourself it didn't hurt – it did.

It hurt like a bitch.

Screw Valentine's Day and most importantly, fuck Stacy Lane with her gorgeous blonde hair, push up bras, and narcissistic ego.

Honestly, what did he see in her?

You couldn't even walk the hallways of Regis without wanting to gag when you see them.

Believe it or not, once upon a time, you were friends with Stacy! You knew she was trouble, but her promiscuous attitude never harmed you before. So, why worry about it?

You befriended her and in return, you were treated like her puppy. A girl who constantly followed Stacy around. At times, Stacy might've acted like a real friend.

She knew you were insecure and she would attempt to help come out your bubble.

You remember her asking in her nasally high pitched voice, "Hey [Name], do you like anyone?"

Looking back, you couldn't help but think you were an idiot.

"Well..." You mumbled softly, feeling awfully reluctant to answer her question. Boys made you nervous. Stacy was the biggest extrovert, she'd definitely would bring you towards boys. The thought of that made your stomach churned.

"Oh, come on! Don't be a little baby. Confess!" She bellowed, if you can't tell, patience isn't really her thing.

"Billy..." You murmured once more, avoiding her piercing gaze. She was intimidating.

"Billy who?" She questioned, her blue eyes still gazing towards you.

"...Tepper?" You stammered out, feeling a rush of anxiety ingulf you. What happens now?

"Really? Billy Tepper?" Stacy exclaimed in shock, making you cringe.

"Don't say it out loud!" You cried out as your face turns into a flush cherry red color.

"Well, I certainly wasn't expecting this. Why him?" Stacy asked, flipping her blonde hair.

"Um, I tutor him sometimes. He's really nice to me and I couldn't help but to like him." You admitted, feeling more embarrassed than before.

Boys weren't your forte. Both Stacy and you knew that.

"I'll help you!" She announced, sounding more impish by the moment. Girls like her thrive on gossip like this.

Boy, did you regret allowing her get closer to Billy.

Sure, at first she might've of had good intentions and perhaps wanted to genuinely help you. But Stacy was selfish and narcissistic, her being kind doesn't last long.

During this time, you still talked to Billy often. You would usually see in him in the library, where you would tutor him.

Sometimes the two of you would actually do your work. But at times, Billy manages to get you to relax and mess around.

There was days were the two of you weren't productive at all, yet those days were the best.

Billy might've been a trouble maker and he might've been mischievous, but he was genuinely a great dude.

Which is why you couldn't help falling
for him.

You recall one day at the library, he suddenly admitted something and it made your heart race.

"I need help...with a girl." Billy muttered quietly, feeling a bit abashed.

You blinked at the announcement, before a grin grew on your face, "The Billy Tepper asking for MY help about a girl?"

"I'm not that great! Okay, I'm pretty awesome but yes! I need help!" He affirmed, looking more bashful than ever.

Honestly, this was cute. You can get used to Billy looking cute and flustered in front of you.

"Yeah? Well, why don't you talk to her? You're usually pretty great at that." You said casually, but deep inside your heart was as fast as a Nascar.

"You make it sound so easy. She's a bit different, I want this to be special, y'know?" He replied back, feeling a bit more restless.

"Look, I'm not an extrovert and I haven't been in a relationship before. If I was in this situation, I'd probably hide in the bathroom for the rest of my high school career. But what I'll tell you is to talk her and be genuine. I know you can do it." You encouraged, giving Billy a pearly smile.

He smiles back at you, "Thanks [Name]."

But that was in the past now. The next day after that conversation, you saw him holding hands with Stacy.

And it appalled you. It broke your heart.

He was afraid of rejection because of her? He choose to be genuine for a girl like her?

Seeing them made your throat tightened, trying to hold back the tears.

Stacy had the audacity to claim she would
help you and instead she stabbed you in the back. It left you rancorous and pessimistic.

Leading back to this very moment, on Valentine's Day. You seen them in the hallway, Stacy with a big box of chocolate and a bouquet of Roses.

You were hurt and you were bitter.

Fuck love and most importantly – fuck Stacy.
