Scene 13 The grounds are quiet; the air is filled with anticipation as they wait for battle. The group is marching into battle from the left wing, weapon-filled and adrenaline ridden while KRONOS and his creatures wait in the shadows.

(The group looks serious and slightly scared as they march into battle)

(RON suddenly starts to move away and we can see him corner stage, sneaking out into the forest's depth)

(Suddenly, HERMIONE notices and nudges the rest of the group to follow him)

HERMIONE. (clearly confused) Ron, where are you going?

RON. (shrugging) To the forest. He is in there, isn't he?

(The group nods, unsuspecting and follow behind)

(The forest is filled with the noises of the night, creatures croak and cry out in the darkness, branches creak and booming echoes even closer)

ANNABETH. (looking over her shoulder and approaching upstage center) Are you sure it's this way?

RON. Yeah.

(From the darkness, a crawling, clacking noise starts echoing through where they are)

PERCY. What's that noise?

HARRY. Has the misty thing lifted?

(A branch snaps and the group stops in their tracks)

(A giant spider emerges from the depths of the forest and RON and ANNABETH whimper)

ANNABETH. (squawking) What... is... that?

RON. (in a high-pitched voice) I think... that it's... a spider.

(They both scream out in terror. RON runs into HERMIONE's arms only to miss and fall to the ground and ANNABETH jumps into PERCY's arms)

HARRY. (taking out his wand) Aragnia Excumai!

(A flash of light comes from the tip of his wand and the spider flies away to the right wing)

(They pant in relief and walk away, deeper into the forest before RON completely fades away to nobody's notice)
