Der Riese (Part 2)

"Alright, there's the last monkey. go, go!" Dempsey commanded.

"Dr. Richthofen on me! Take the right door. You Russian and Takeo can hug it out through the left door. Lets go!"

With that, they paired up (well, Nikolai was dragged along really) and they each took their separate routes. Nikolai immediately noticed a soda machine, and wondering if it was still operational, walked up to it.

"This machine have vodka?" He asked. Takeo didn't reply.

Nikolai looked at the big green letters at the top of the machine. 'Speed Cola', it read. Nikolai paid 75¢ to drink something he didn't quite think was what it was.

"I've never tasted such vodka. I feel...like speed. The speed of my life!" He exclaimed. Takeo ignored him, thinking he was just crazy (well, more so drunk.)

"Where's these teleporter things you've been talking about?" Dempsey asked Richthofen.

"Somewhere around here..." Richthofen said. They began to come back to the place where they started and where the 'Sword-grinding-thingy' was.

"Oh it's just a big circle? Or maybe we missed something..." Richthofen said to himself.

Richthofen walked back up the tiny stairs and back into the room with the Thompson. He looked to the right of the 'Furnace Room' and saw something they've been hoping for for quite awhile. Dempsey saw it first, though.

"The box! It's here!" he cried before he ran up to it and opened it up.

It cycled over to a pistol, commonly known as the Python, with six strong bullets in each clip.

"This thing any good?" He asked Richthofen. "Looks like the M1911 again."

"No, that's something else. Something much better than that. Looks like the Python to me. I would take it, but conserve the ammo," Richthofen suggested.

"I'm gonna get rid of my 1911 for it, seems to be a better deal than the Thompson," Dempsey said, realizing that Richthofen hadn't had a turn. "You want to spin it?" he asked.

Richthofen shook his head. "I have Dr. Porter's special weapon and the Thompson, I'l be okay."

They walked back up the stairs in silence and realized that they hadn't even explored the room the drop was in. They both went left across a wide catwalk where they could look down at their main area. The 'Power Area', they liked to call it. They both walked down into an enclosed bit of area. Down some stairs, they saw another chalk on the wall.

"The hell are these?" Richthofen asked. "Look like some equipment. I'm reaching in for it."

With that, they both grabbed what appeared to be titled 'Bouncing Bettys' and used them as an automatically triggered explosive device. They both found them to be very effective, especially if they just put one down in front of a large horde.

They walked on and saw that there was a hole in the wall, which they walked through. To their left, they saw a dead end and to their right was something they hadn't seen before. A refrigerator-shaped, red soda machine glowed a bright red color. 'Juggernog Cola', it read.

Dempsey motioned Richthofen to let him test it out first. He paid it 75¢ and drunk a red cola before tossing the bottle to the ground.

"This work like a flak jacket or something?" He asked himself before Richthofen walked up to it and drunk one as well.

"I feel stronger already," he said, quietly.

Suddenly, a zombie came around the corner, causing Richthofen to jump a bit. Dempsey shot its head and it sank to the ground. They were just about to leave and regroup, but they were stopped by another horde of zombies hurdling towards them. Dempsey shot a lot of bullets into them with his Thompson, but soon ran out of ammo as he only had a bit left. The zombies all hit him at once and he fell to the floor, with a great pain shooting through his leg.

Richthofen fought of the horde with his 'Ray Gun' as they called it. But there were far too many. He became overran and backed into a tiny corner on the other side of the hall from the strange drink. Dempsey was on the floor beside him, barely conscious. The zombies eventually came face to face with Richthofen and he shot his Ray gun directly at one, which hit him, and he damaged himself.

He was shocked that he hadn't fallen yet, but he shot his Ray Gun over and over and over until their were none left. He breathed heavily, and bent over to look at Dempsey. He was out cold on the ground, but still breathing. Richthofen knew that he couldn't drag Dempsey let alone carry him. He could either leave him here and save himself while he has the chance or try to get the others to him before he's unconscious.

Now might be a good time to say that Richthofen and Dempsey hadn't really ever been close, they'd barely known each other. Barely knew anything about each other and hadn't ever planned on it.

But Richthofen knew that he was tough as nails, and they needed a marine like him. So he went for help and ran as fast as he could. Around the corner, past the Bouncing Bettys, across the bridge, down the ledge, and through the door Richthofen ran with his Ray Gun in hand. He saw the two of them when Takeo began to drink the unknown cola.

"The soldier is unconscious," Richthofen said briefly.

"I thought you were supposed to be the doctor!" Takeo exclaimed.

"You know I'm not that kind of doctor. Look, do any of you still have your syrette?" He asked.

"Take the Russian's, he can't use it anyway."
