┍S┚ɪʀɪᴜs ʜᴀᴅ ᴀ ғᴇᴡ ɪᴅᴇᴀs about how to get Mia to go out with him. 'Stupid, silly ideas mixed with decent ideas' Remus remarked as Sirius read out his ideas during breakfast, the following week. For the past week, Sirius and Mia had simply smiled and occasionally exchanged a few greetings but everyone was busy with homework and mock exams.
Now, with the mock exams finished and homework half-finished, Sirius decided to go for it.
"So what am I supposed to do? I'm not gonna just go and ask her." Sirius whined like a puppy as he took an aggressive bite from his buttered toast before grimacing and spitting it out into a tissue. "Ew, it's cold."
"If you had eaten your breakfast first and then brainstormed ideas, you'd be more time-efficient and full." Remus took a gulp from his tea, "And now you're hungry, you haven't made any decent ideas and it's lesson time."
"Alright, dad." Sirius grumbled before taking his satchel and swinging it on. "I'm just gonna use my ideas, since you didn't give much help."
"Your loss, mate." Remus finished his tea and grabbed his bag before walking after the boy.
"Mia." Sirius called out, bringing the girl to turn around and look at him. They were all lined up outside the Charms classroom, waiting for Flitwick to come and let them in.
"Yes?" She asked, watching as Marlene chuckled.
"Go out with me?" He asked, handing her an elderflower. She took the flower, flinching at the electric shock that occurred when their fingers touched and smiled, the scent of the plant filling her surroundings.
"Alright then, yes." She replied, putting the flower into her pocket before smiling.
"Hogsmeade on Saturday at 11?" He asked, now smiling.
"Sure. Bring a scarf, don't freeze before I get to have a drink." She smiled before Flitwick appeared and opened the door, letting them all in. "I'll meet you at the Grand Staircase."
Remus chuckled as Sirius stood there in the same spot, blissfully unaware of the fact that everyone was staring at him from their seats. The werewolf nudged him forward, through the doorway and into the classroom.
Eventually after a long school week of lessons, Saturday came upon the students of Hogwarts as snow began to pile onto the beautiful scenery surrounding the school grounds.
"Prongs, I've got a date." Sirius lightly smiled as he laid on his bed with all his clothes laid out beside him.
"So do I, but I don't think being late will impress her." James pointed out, picking up the wall clock and throwing it at his best friend. Sirius grunted as the clock landed on his leg.
"Do you know how heavy this is? It weighs as much as your ego." Sirius retorted, pushing off the clock before getting up and walking over to his trunk. "Besides, the clock's wrong. It's ten o'clock."
"Um, Pads." Peter drew his curtains and waved at his friend, "It's eleven o'clock, my watch says so." He showed his wrist watch and awkwardly smiled.
Remus said nothing.
"Moony." Sirius groaned out, "What the fuck is the time?"
"Five past Eleven." The werewolf replied nonchalantly, flipping another page in his sketchbook before starting to draw.
"Shi-fuck!" Sirius yelped before pulling on his jeans, white t-shirt and his signature leather jacket. Pulling on a pair of trainers, he rushed out of the dormitory, more frazzled than ever.
On the way down to the staircase, Sirius had bumped into McGonagall, who demanded to know why he had bunked off one of her lessons on Friday. Yet the boy had no time to speak to the professor, so he simply yelled 'I can do a detention on Monday!' before continuing with his sprint.
Finally after taking three sharp turns, Sirius found Mia leaning against the bannister with a bored expression on her face. He watched as she lifted her wrist to check the time and huffed, before rushing down the stairs.
"Mia!" She jumped, startled as she turned around to find him giving her a shy smile. "Sorry I'm late, the clock on our wall was wrong."
"It's alright, I just came here." She smiled before taking his hand and leading them towards the courtyard. Sirius notes that she was wearing one of his band t-shirts but chose not to say anything, just keeping a cool smile on his face as they walked over to Filch.
"Don't you have Prefect duties?" The man asked, pointing a grubby finger at Mia.
"Not my shift." She replied, challenging him with her eyes to even bring up any more reasons to postpone the date.
"Off you go, then." The man grumbled, scribbling something down into his piece of parchment.
Their shoes left imprints onto the fresh snow as they braved their way through the thick layers towards Hogsmeade.
"So where do you want to go?" He asked, awkwardly walking besides her with his arm casually looped around her's.
"I don't mind." Mia replied, "Let's go with trial and error."
She didn't mind their arms looping, in fact, she missed it.
:) 3.99k! I just wanna thank you all for braving through my shitty writing and melodramatic plot line!
