"You absolute idiot. Why didn't you tell me about the living together in the same flat thing!" Marlene raged, yelling at her friend for worrying her. "In fact, we haven't talked all summer!"

"Mar-." Mia was cut off.

"WAS IT SIRIUS? I THOUGHT WE AGREED ON CHICKS BEFORE DICKS! Come on, we were meant to meet up in July!" Marlene talked on, not noticing Mia and her very pale face.

"Marlene. I had been in a fucking coma for a month. Unless you planned on shoving Fortescue's ice cream down my unconscious throat, I don't think meeting up in Diagonal Alley would have been very practical." Mia spoke, examining her book bag with extreme scrutiny.

"Woah. Did you change your hair... wait. Coma?COMA?!" Marlene shouted, suspiciously examining her friend for any sign of harm before her eyes caught the white line going across her throat. Mia followed her eyes and when realising that she forgot her glamour charm, she whipped out her wand.

Muttering a quick spell, she soon turned back to Marlene, who looked angry.

"... when were you planning on telling me you just happened to cut your throat? After you told me about the coma?" She asked, tapping her nails on the seat.

"I-I was attacked. And almost died." And was broken up with my boyfriend, she thought angrily.

"Where was Sirius?"

"At home."

"Where is Sirius?"

"Dunno. We broke up." Marlene's jaw dropped.

"I'll be right back, Mia. I have some business to do. And don't you have your Prefect Patrol meeting?"

"Oh yeah." Mia walked out after Marlene.

Remus angrily scribbled in his sketchbook as he watched Peter and James play Exploding Snap with bitter amusement. Sirius was leaning his head on the window, blankly watching the view of the countryside.

"Moony, calm down. You're gonna break that pon of yours." James attempted to calm his friend, who was still scribbling.

"Pen." Sirius whispered, "It's called a pen. Mia has-."

"She has some?" Peter piped, unaware of the situation. "Where is Mia? Aren't you two like sticker together like Spellotape?"

"Pete-." James attempted to stop his friend.

"I need some help with my Charms homework, maybe Mia can help me." Peter continued talking.

The door slammed open.

The four Marauders turned their heads towards the person in the doorway.

Emma Clackton.

"Hey, Sirius." She spoke, her voice high and flirty.

"Hey... Anne?" Remus cocked his head at Sirius.

"Emma." She smiled, "Emma Clackton."

"What do you want?" Remus grumbled, his arms crossed as he glared at the girl.

"Well, I was wondering if Sirius could help me with my Care of Magical Creatures homework? I heard that he was the best in the year." She nodded to Sirius, who simply stared at her.

"I think John Kitch in Hufflepuff will be a better helper." James supplied, "Sirius isn't-."

"Sure. When?" Sirius quickly cut James off, a smirk on his lips.

"After the feast?" She asked.

"Sure. Meet me in the Library." He replied, smiling at her. She nodded and walked out.

Remus threw his pen down before stuffing his sketchbook back into his bag with such vigour that it might have even tore. Peter jumped at his aggressiveness.

"It's a full moon today, Pete. Moony's a bit grumpy." Sirius reassured his friend, quickly cringing at Remus' death glare.

If looks could kill, Sirius would be six feet under.

Suddenly, the door opened again.

It was Lily.

"Remus. Meeting." She smiled, her Head Girl badge glistening as everyone felt her pride and joy.

The werewolf got up, and so did James.

"Where are you going, Potter?" She asked, a suspicious look on her face as she watched his dig out a badge from his trouser pocket. "No-."

"Evans. We're the heads." He simply nodded at her before walking out the door.

Lily was shocked.

"Chin up, Evans." Sirius smirked.

"Let's go, Lily." Remus grumbled, throwing Sirius one last look before he went.

"Hey. Mia." A voice called after her as she walked through the Prefect's carriage. She turned around in surprise.

"Diggory?" She asked, her eyebrows furrowed as she wondered what he wanted with her.

"Call me Amos! We're patrol partners, inspecting compartments for the greater good!"

"Oh." He cheerfully walked with her, taking a few glances every few minutes. They walked together through the carriages, eventually ending at Mia's compartment.

"Now that's done. Pleasure meeting you, Amos." She turned to go back in.

"You... wanna go to Hogsmeade on Saturday?" He asked, smiling shyly as she thought for a second.

"I can't. I've just broken up with Si-." He nodded.

"Well if you still want that date, you know where to find me." He bowed jokingly before walking off.

Mia sighed.

It was going to be a long year.
