After successfully managing to buy a rather large packet of fizzing whizzies from Honeydukes, the pair ultimately agreed to head down to The Three Broomsticks in an attempt to warm themselves up in the snappy nature of the crisp Scottish winter weather.
"I'm bored, let's play a game." Mia suddenly suggested, as the pair walked down the cobbled high street to get to the familiar wizarding pub.
"Alright," Sirius answered with a curious smirk on his continuously blissful face. "How about Truth or Dare?"
"You're on." She let out an airy laugh, one that Sirius could compare to a sweet melody. All he wanted to ever hear was her laugh and see the sweet smile on her warm face. "Yiu go first!"
By the time Sirius tried to think of a good question, they had gotten to the front steps of the pub. From the outside, they could hear boisterous laughter and lively conversation with people clapping and cheering inside. The sweet smell of freshly brewed butterbeer lured them both in, only to be ushered into the corner of the pub with a table for two by Madame Rosmerta.
"What would you like today?" She asked, waving her wand around the table to set up two napkins, two plates and cutlery, and a rose.
"One cold butterbeer and a hot one as well." Sirius ordered, "Oh and a cheese on toast if you can." The bar lady smiled at the pair before nodding and walking away.
The man promptly turned back to Mia, who briefly remembered their first date when he'd combined the butterbeer and made something taht could be compared to ambrosia. "I've got my question."
"Go on."
"Wait, we have to do this properly. Mia, Truth or dare?"
The brunette took a few seconds to think very carefully. If she chose truth, how far would he go? Yet choosing date didn't seem very wise either. "Truth." She hesitantly let out.
"What's a pet peeve of yours?" He asked.
"People who shove others down to rise above."
"Ouch. Your turn." Sirius watched as she began to smirk in a 'you're done for, now' gesture.
Mia looked around the room before turning to face him, a spark of electricity souring through her twinkling brown eyes.
"Truth or dare?" She asked.
"Dare." He immediately replied without a second of hesitation.
"Go and flirt with Madame Rosmerta." She pointed at the bar lady, who was chatting to one of her co-workers at the doorway.
"Easy as pie." He casually rose up from his seat, throwing his love a cheeky wink before strolling away towards Madame Rosmerta, who simply scanned him up and down before conversing with him. Mia watched as they exchanged a few words, Sirius smoothly resting his figure against the doorway and giving the bar lady some corny jokes presumably, judging by the stifled giggles being released from her. Madame Rosmerta then took two steps forward, as close to Sirius to be able to whisper into his ear.
Mia watched as he bashfully smiled at whatever she said before turning to walk back to her.
"Truth or dare?" Sirius asked, now sitting back down in his chair facing her. Before she could reply, the waitress came back with two mugs of butter beer. He thanked the lady before taking a few large gulps from his steaming hot mug, that clearly had light waves of heat dancing around its surroundings.
Mia winced as he took the gulps.
Evidently, luck was not on his side as he hastily slammed the mug down, letting small amounts of butter beer splatter onto the mahogany table. Sticking his tongue out, Sirius grimaced as he tried to look at the damage done to his tongue.
"You could have had half of mine!" Mia worriedly looked at his tongue, which looked an alarming red colour. "Now you've gone and burnt your tongue."
"Is owkay. I oes hur a a." He replied.
"It doesn't hurt that bad? Let me go and get some sugar." Mia rose up from her chair and slowly started to walk towards the kitchen door. Gently knocking on the door, she watched as a house elf, dressed in a tattered flour sack opened the door.
"Yes Missus?" The elf asked, "Ginger can helps you." In the background, she could hear loud clattering and banging noises, accompanied with a gruff lady yelling about pears and peaches.
"Um. Ginger, may I have some sugar?" The house elf eagerly nodded before running back into the kitchen, letting the door swing shut.
A small tap on her shoulder brought her to turn around.
"You really didn't heed my advice, did you?" It was the girl from the night of the party. Mia definitely knew. "I'm the girl-."
"Yes, I am aware of who you are." Mia snapped back. "Who are you and what do you want with me?!" She watched as the girl flicked a lock of her midnight black hair behind her with an annoyed sigh.
"That's not important, I want you to stay away from Sirius Orion Black." She snapped back. "It's for your safety!"
"Why are you so concerned about my life?" Mia asked, her eyebrows furrowing in frustration as she scanned the teenager up and down. "What year are you in?"
"Fifth, but that doesn't matter!" The girl let out another huff, "Stay away from him or I'll be forced to do something drastic."
"You know what? Just go away." The teenager shrugged nonchalantly before raising her wand. In the split second window, Mia swiftly stepped aside, but watched in guilt and horror as the strange girl's spell hit Ginger, who had returned with her sugar.
Mia slid down into the floor, cradling the house elf and attempting to check her pulse. Fortunately, the house elf had only been stunned.
Turning back to face the teenager, confusion flooded her features as she was met with nothing. It was as though the girl had popped out of nowhere and promptly vanished into thin air.
"Rennervate." She whispered, watching as the large, twinkling eyes of Ginger opened.
Who on Earth was she?
