Quickly brushing her teeth, washing her face and brushing her hair, Mia put on a pair of jeans, a knitted jumper and her Prefect badge before heading down Ravenclaw Tower for breakfast, leaving her wand on her bedside table.

"Mia!" It was Romulus Finchley, her study partner/friend from Gryffindor.

"Hey, Mules." She smiled, "I'm just heading to the Hall for some breakfast. You?"

"Library. Long time, no see!" He exclaimed, before running off.

'That was weird' Mia thought as she walked towards and into the Great Hall.

Her stomach grumbled at the smell and sight of a good, hearty breakfast. Stacks of toast, jugs of pumpkin juice, bowls filled with shiny, ripe apples and cereal boxes scattered around the four long tables. Walking over to the Ravenclaw table, she took a seat and filled a mug with some tea before taking a smooth sip, letting the rich flavour engulf her taste buds.

"Mia." She jumped, letting out a yelp and spilling the tea on her lap and her plate.

"Fuck." She mumbled, before awkwardly reaching over the table to grab a few tissues in a halfhearted attempt at drying her jeans and the table. The tissues were no help.

Turning around to look at the figure behind her, Mia looked into the familiar storm-grey eyes of Sirius Orion Black, who looked guilty.

She didn't know whether it was because he had ruined her breakfast or the fact that he had swiftly moved on from her by going out with Emma Clackton, but Mia was not in the mood to talk to him.

Standing up from the bench, she looked around for her wand but after remembering that she had left it at Ravenclaw Tower, Mia simply walked off, hoping that he wouldn't follow her. But after hearing his dragon hide boots clacking after her, she cursed Godric Gryffindor with all her might.

"Stupid, stubborn Gryffindors." She muttered, as she walked up the grand staircase and through a few narrow hallways in an attempt to shake Sirius off.

Nope.

He was now only two feet away from her, and Mia was speeding up.

She was going to the Hospital Wing to treat her very painful lap. And she didn't need Sirius accompanying her at all.

Just as she turned a corner, he had jumped in front of her.

"Black." She mumbled, "Let me pass."

"We need to talk." He gritted out, staring at her with his very stormy grey eyes. Mia could almost see thunderbolts in his grey eyes.

They used to be a soft, light grey when they were dating. Now they were dark, crippled with angst.

She could feel her heart strings tug as she took one last look at him before casting her gaze on the windows around her.

"Amos Diggory?" He softly asked, his eyes showing hurt and jealousy?

"Emma Clackton." She replied bluntly as an answer, letting her eyes trace the scenery through the window. Sirius sighed and walked in front of her line of vision.

"Look-." He started but Mia quickly cut him off, her eyes threatening to tear up.

"You were the one who broke up with me." She whispered, "And then you moved on quicker than you could say quidditch."

"Well. Um. I. —." He struggled to speak, but soon regained his ability, "I can't bear to watch you with him, just as I'm sure you can't bear to see Emma with me. I made you happy first, and now he does as well."

"Well what do you want, Sirius? A medal? A trophy?" Mia asked, her head now throbbing at one side to the point of it feeling like she was being stabbed in the head violently. "What do you want?"

"I want what I can't have." He softly whispered, loud enough for her to hear, "I want you back."

"Seriously? You want me back? What am I, a toy?" She scoffed, "So when you want me, you'll have me but when you get tired of me, you'll shove me into a cupboard and move on?" He shook his head.

"It's not like that. You're the only one that I want. I just can't protect you."

"Mia!" She sharply turned at the sound of Amos Diggory's voice.

"Amos." She smiled, not noticing Sirius' fist clenching in frustration and his jaw tensing.

"I've been looking for you everywhere! Is there something going on here?" Taking one long look at Sirius and his dishevelled appearance, he added "Five points from Gryffindor for the uniform."

Sirius scoffed before reluctantly tucking his shirt in.

"Mia-." Sirius attempted to get one last word in but Amos quickly intervened.

"Let's go, Mia. We have better things to do than talk to hooligans that looked like they roll in hay. He gently took her hand and lead them back, not before heading Sirius mutter loudly.

"One to talk about hay with his hay brain." Amos quickly turned around.

"That's a detention with McGonagall." Slinging his arm around Mia's waist, he walked them back to the Hall.

Minerva McGonagall gave Sirius one sharp look. Taking out a small notepad, she read from the list of things written on it.

"Fifty points from Gryffindor in two days. And they weren't even school days." After closely examining her notes through her glasses that were perched on her nose, "Uniform and Conduct around the premises."

"But-."

"No buts!" She sharply cut him off, "You are in your N.E.W.Ts year! You simply cannot afford to keep slacking like this!" Taking note of his posture, she added, "Sit Up!"

He begrudgingly sat up.

"I can't handle this detention, I've got a whole class full of third years in a detention. You'll be sitting your detention with Professor Flitwick in five minutes." She quickly spoke, slowly putting down the notebook on her desk before standing up, "Truant and it'll be doubled."

"Where's the detention then." He asked, used to being dished out detentions for minor things.

"Charms classroom."

"Alright, Minnie." He walked out of her office and towards the classroom.
