luke took julia to dinner for their first date.

it was casual. they went out to the local italian restaurant. luke got pizza. julia got pasta. luke paid for dinner, and julia paid for gelato.

he brought her pink flowers.

it was kind of perfect.

they walked down the sidewalk, the christmas lights that clung to the trees all year round lighting up the night. "this is really nice," julia said, smiling up at luke.

he smiled back at her. "you're really nice," he said shyly, his dimples showing.

"you're the sweet one," julia said. "you got me those flowers."

luke just shrugged. "a pretty girl deserves pretty flowers," he mumbled, blushing.

julia wanted to scream, but it would ruin the moment.

so she just walked beside luke, enjoying their time under the stars.

julia: he's amazing.

mary: was it awkward?

julia: not at all. we didn't talk that much, but it was a nice silence. it was comfortable. i like him.

mary: like like him?

julia: maybe.

mary: when you guys get married, i call maid of honor.

julia: haha. you got it.

luke: i mean... i'm not not happy.

julia: are you sure?

luke: yeah. at least, i am now.
