16 - Third-rate
I should not complain that Zenos yae Galvus is not in this world. Nor Nidhogg, nor even Gaius van Baelsar. I did not particularly like them being in Eorzea, and they would have even less of a place in this Earth. Though perhaps there are others here with ambitions like Gaius.
But they, and primals, and large fate monsters, and the leaders found in dungeons, are what I think of as powerful. Husband does not think there is anything as powerful here, but he admits he does not know. He insists he does not know. And we have not explored very much of this world.
There are deputies, or guards, or police, or whatever they are called here. There are soldiers. There are enemy soldiers, and what are called "terrorists," all of whom are violent. But they are mere hyur, and not as strong or as equipped as Husband and me. They mostly have guns, but the guns only have bullets, and the last time someone shot at me the bullets did not damage my armor.
The most likely threat I will encounter is the occasional drunk swinging his fist, or the occasional bandit with a gun. Which are no threat at all. At least, they are not a threat to me. I read of people being shot and stabbed and beaten, so they are threats to others.
Perhaps I should help protect them. I am a Champion of Eorzea, but I am not in Eorzea. So perhaps I should go forth and be a Champion of Dimly-lit Streets and Dark Alleys.
It does not sound like a first-rate title.
