CHAPTER 15 (Tigry)
I slowly lifted my head out of the sand... Literally. My head had buried itself there when we all got blasted. I shook my head rapidly, trying to shake the disgusting thing off of me. I hated sand. It was coarse and rough and got everywhere. My ears were ringing but I slowly crawled to the sound of the sea and collapsed into it. Reluctantly, I then stood up with most of the sand off of my head. Unfortunately though, sand clung to my clothes like a toddler clinging to their parent. "Ugh." I groaned, my ears still insisting on ringing. I slowly opened my eyes, hoping that the seawater wouldn't drip into my eyes and sting them for the rest of eternity. Of course that last part was just me being dramatic. Says literally anybody else but me. How am I being dramatic? That thing really stings and it feels like it does so for an eternity. Okay, I'm going to stop myself before we're on this tangent for the whole entire chapter. Anyways,
Luckily, it did not but my vision was still a bit blurry, after a couple of quick blinks though, that problem was no more. I ran over to Sgt. Monroe and William. "Are you two okay?" I asked.
"Wow, you sure do recover quick for a criminal and an outlaw." Sgt. Monroe said, glaring daggers at me with his arms folded.
"Does it look like I really give two hoots about that in the Apocalypse?" I put my hands on my hips.
He scoffed and walked away, muttering a bunch of swear words.
"What a happy chap." I commented sarcastically to William.
"Oh, don't even get me started on the amount of times he would yell at Daisy and then I would yell at him for doing so and then she would yell at him for yelling at me and the loop would continue for hours. Luckily, we've developed some sort of... Mutual respect recently. Seems like you two haven't though."
"I'm sure we'll be best friends soon enough." I rolled my eyes and that got a giggle out of him. "And, Daisy's your old caretaker right?"
His face fell and he nodded solemnly in reply. I looked down at the creature at my feet.
"Now, what to do with this guy..." I said, looking back up at William. We both flashed grins at eachother and knew exactly what the other was thinking. We both took hold of one arm, dragged him to the edge of the shore and chucked him into the sea, where he was swept away by the strong tide.
"You know, you're not so bad Sarky." William said.
"You too, Captain Optimistic." I smiled, being sarcastic yet again. Man, I had changed a lot in the past week, same with everyone really.
Willow groaned and began to push herself up from the ground. She looked at the both us.
"Tiger!" Her eyes lit up and my smile grew bigger and wider. Her eyes then darted over to William. She frowned and so did he. He quickly sped off into the sea, "Will, wait!" But, she wasn't able to get up before William had disappeared into the deep blue waters.
