Johnny and ponyboy's  relationship was a blessing to everyone. Not only did it improve both of their lives, but because of homophobia allegations, the socs stoped messing with them and actually became a pretty good ally.
One day when the greasers and socs' met up randy and bob discussed a party they where throwing. They invited the greasers and the reluctantly agreed once they were assured it was not a set up for a brawl. On the night of the party Randy's house was packed. It took 10 minutes for any of them to even get inside of the house.
"Hey guys, we'd like you to meet the newest member of the socs, Jacob Daves."
Jacob put his hand out to shave Dallys hand. Dally stared at it and Jacob embarrassedly put it down. Jacob looked up at the greasers and locked eyes with Johnny. A look of familiarity glazed his eyes causing Johnny and pony to get comfortable. Johnny smiled and left the room, Pony followed after.
"Hey, do you know that guy..."
Pony said reaching his hand out to touch Johnnys arm. Johnny stared a second then looked off, trying to think of what to say.
"Uhhh I'm.. not sure- maybe I used to go to school with him."
Johnny looked off, spotting a couple of beers he moves 'toward them and quickly starts to gulp one down.
"Are you sure I think I would've seen him around.."
Pony's speech slowed as he got a better glance, just to make sure he didn't recognize him. Once he turned back around Johnny had run off. He looked back at Jacob, who looked to be watching someone. Pony made his way over to jacob, but before he could reach him Jacob rushed out the door, like he was following someone.
Pony quickly chased after the newcomer and followed him out to Randy's backyard, where he hid behind a bush, trying not to get caught. Jacob stood for a second and looked around before Johnny walked over. Johnny acted like he had been caught, he seemed defeated.
"I knew it was you."
Jacob said taking a few steps closer to Johnny, who seemed tense and was looking down.
"I haven't seen you in a long time Johnny... I haven't seen you since that night..."
Jacob moved closer and lightly grabbed on to Johnnys arms. Johnny still didn't look up.
"You remember.. before I left town... you kissed me... and then we..."
Johnny looked up and Jacob cut himself off, knowing that Johnny didn't need to be reminded.
"Johnny I'm sorry for leaving.... I may have become a Demi-god gymnast, but that doesn't matter to me. The only time I felt like a god was when I was with you...."
Jacobs eyes were like one with Johnnys. The contact was intense and sordid. Jacobs begins to lean in before Johnny pushed him back.
"Jacob... I can't.... You left me when you knew I had nobody else."
Johnnys eyes started to tear up which he quickly wiped away.
"A-and besides I've made new friends, and I have a boyfriend now who loves me and won't leave me like you did...."
"A boyfriend..."
Jacob stepped back. Johnny started to cry more and turned around. He composed himself and moved over to Jacob. Johnny put his hands on his shoulders.
"I'm sorry jay.. really... you never loved me..."
Jacob pushed Johnny off and walked away a few steps. Pony got up from behind the bushes and looked at Johnny who had put his head back down to hide his face. Pony took a few steps toward Johnny, who looked back up and tried to wipe his face clean of tears. Pony ran over to Johnny and help him while Johnny wept into his shoulder. Jacob turned back around and looked at the two before leaving and going back inside to the party.
