Two days after ponyboys shocking announcement the greasers were all adjusting to this information at their own speed. Some were better at getting used to it than others.
"Hey pony, I got you a gay flag, and a gay cake cause you know your gay and all."
Two-bit says and he hands pony the goods.
"Thanks Keith.."
Ponyboy smiles.
"I thought I told you never to call me that pony. Don't make me take those back!"
Ponyboy laughs, joking with two-bit. Two-bit leaves and Johnny enters a few minutes later.
"Hey, ponyboy nice cake, can I have some?"
Johnny laughs.
"Dig in, you can have the whole thing, I don't care."
Ponyboy says as he pushes the cake over to Johnny, who begins to eat it.
"What's this cake for anyways?"
Johnny says with a mouth full of cake. Ponyboy smiles.
"Just some dumb treat two-bit got me."
Johnny laughs continuing to stuff his face.
"I just love eating cake."
Johnny says looking at ponyboy. Ponyboy smiled at Johnny who gave him a look back like what he said might have had an underlying message. Johnny smiles and looks back down at the cake when Ponyboy realizes the possibly implications and blushes taken aback by the simple sentence that could have multiple meanings.
"Oh..."
Ponyboy says awkwardly.
"Hey uhm.." ponyboy gets up and gathers his stuff quickly "I'm gonna head out, uhh see ya later Johnny.."
Ponyboy quickly darts out of the room leaving Johnny confused.
