Pony and Johnny stared wide eyed at the other greasers, their lips still locked.
"Oh my god-"
Darry said breaking the silence.
After the embarrassing encounter, they all went inside to talk.
"So....... What's going on between you guys..?"
Dally said, trying to get it over with.
"Oh uhm..."
Ponyboy looked at Johnny, seeing which one of them was going to explain themselves.
"Me and pony...-"
"Johnny and I are dating.."
Ponyboy cut in quickly, spilling the beans to the boys.
"Oh wow..... umm.. how long has it been..."
Sodapop says leaning closer.
"Over a month...."
The boys sit in silence for a minute until two-but gets up and puts out his hand for pony.
"Attaboy!"
Twobit dabs pony up and then does the same to Johnny, starting a celebration for the couple. They continue with Johnny's party and have a great night. After a while the party gets a little out of hand and Steve ends up throwing Two-bit out of one of the windows, which kinda was the sign they should end the party.
After making sure Two-bit was ok, slowly the greasers started leaving and going to bed until it was Pony and Johnny.
"Are you gonna go home tonight?"
Pony asked Johnny.
"Nah.. I think I'm just gonna sleep in the lot."
"You can't sleep in the lot, it's your birthday.. don't you think your parents would like to see you, and have you come home?"
Johnny cuts pony off.
"No, they don't want me home.... They don't care about my birthday... last year they didn't even remember it.."
Johnny looked down, upset.
"Oh my god, Johnny I'm so sorry....."
Ponyboy hugged Johnny.
"It's ok pony."
Johnny said standing up.
"You sure you don't wanna sleep here?"
"Nah pony it's really ok... and besides I like sleeping at the lot. I like being able to look up at the stars before I go to sleep."
Johnny cheers himself up thinking about it.
"While then I'll come with you. It's bad enough having to sleep outside in the cold on your birthday, wouldn't you like to spend the last hours of your birthday with someone you care about?"
Ponyboy says standing up, grabbing the throw blanket from the couch.
"Ok.."
Johnny smiles as they leave.
At the lot they lay together to keep warm.
"Happy birthday Johnny..."
Ponyboy says to Johnny smiling. Johnny smiles back.
"Thanks pony."
He kisses him, making pony blush. Johnny kisses him again leading to an intense make out. Ponyboy pulls away and starts kissing his neck before burying his head in Johnnys shoulder. Johnny smiles. And looks up at the stars before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
