The Date
"Hey Akira," Sora asked, letting her voice trail off. Akira blushed at the acknowledgement and slouched back into the passenger seat. She felt nervous about speaking at all because of the way she didn't like having to hear her voice all the time...but she was also worried that she would say the wrong thing and make this Sora girl grow to hate her.
"Y-yeah," She asked looking to the side. She had her mask on as she would usually wear when she went in public. It helped to cover her face as well as her bangs that covered her other eye. She didn't like when people looked at her too much because of her anxiety of being accepted or being hated because of this.
"I was wondering why you live in such a big house? I mean I'm not judging you because your house looks very nice, I was just wondering," Sora said gently keeping her eyes on the road. Akira was confused by the question.
"M-my house?" She asked for clarity. Sora gave her a small hum accompanied with a nod. "A-ah, well M-mizu and S-shino like h-having the b-big house b-by the b-beach. They l-love g-going on w-walks in the m-morning and I e-enjoy being a-able to g-go out l-later in t-the day to w-watch the w-waves." She stuttered making Sora raise her eyebrow.
'She is stuttering...not like she was that night...did something happen? Or is this what she is normally?' Sora thought and she felt her curiosity grow as she was speaking with the famous author that she had been feeling a certain way about.
"That's nice, I have always wanted to have a beach house, but I don't get to make those kinds of choices because of my acting career," She sighed a bit with a laugh. Akira's eyes widened a bit. "But shouldn't you b-be able to c-choose where y-you live?" She said putting her hands on her lap. Sora hummed and gave her a side glance as they pulled into the parking lot for the cafe.
"Oh, I have never had anyone react that way before," She said, taking the key out of the ignition. "But, t-that should be y-your choice!" She said again not letting it go like Sora had seen many other people do. She was interested in this and was finding her heart wanting to let Akira in because of the way she was different from the others.
"That's nice of you to say!" She said giggling while she pat her head. Akira blushed more and looked to the side. At this moment Akira opened her mouth to say something but then Misha walked up to the two of them.
"Wow Sora! I'm surprised you two have gotten along so well!" Misha said with a smile moving over to give both of them a hug. Akira didn't feel comfortable with this but she shakily moved her hands around Misha before she pulled away. "Yeah! This is Misha Akira! She is a big fan of yours!" Sora explained making Akira blush a bit.
"T-thank you," She said, closing her eyes showing that she was smiling. "Well come in, come in!" Misha said opening the doors for the two girls to enter. Sora grabbed onto Akira's hand and led her into the cafe. She moved the two of them to her favorite booth in the back which had a large window and some comfy chairs. Akira was looking around in awe. She was amazed that such a place existed.
"What would you both like?" Misha asked when another waiter came to her side. He was taller and his eyes were dark. She smiled at Akira, but she didn't return the gesture. Instead her eyes narrowed and her whole body language changed. Sora noticed this and quickly said.
"Oh! We will just take some hot chocolate!" She said before she gave Misha a glance. This told Misha that she needed to make the other male leave the situation. She smiled at the two of them before giving them a nod. "Alright!" Misha then left with the waiter leaving Sora and Akira alone.
Akira was blankly staring at her hands. Sora was worried about the change in behavior. "Akira?" She asked, putting a hand on her shoulder. At that moment she gasped and moved back, straightening her back. "I-I...I'm sorry." She said lowering her head so her bangs covered her eyes.
"No it's alright, I didn't know he would make you uncomfortable so sorry about that," She said with a smile. Akira slowly raised her head and looked over at her. Wondering if what she was saying was true...but she wanted to leave because of how she had messed up and made Sora go out of her way to get her out of that position.
It wasn't that she knew the guy from anywhere...she just was very untrusting towards guys in general because of what had happened with her uncle in the past and some of the boys at school...she hated that this fear was still bothering her and making it so Sora was worried about her.
"Sorry about that, but know Misha's hot chocolate is amazing so hopefully that can make up for it!" She said, moving her hand down to hold onto Akira's hand. Akira smiled and looked up at her. "I'm glad, I-I'm looking f-forward to it!" Sora smiled at this and put her hand on her head.
"Yeah! You are so cute you know that~," She said with a teasing tone. "A-ah?" Akira blushed and her eyes widened. Sora just laughed before Misha brought them the drinks.
