Chapter 6: Wishes

P.O.V. [Name]

I let out a tired sigh as I looked up at the sky. I was still riding with Bulma as we continued towards the location of the next dragon ball. I sighed as I looked up at the sky, I should probably just start carrying us, it would be faster than having to ride this bike everywhere. I then felt a slight jerk as Bulma began to slow down and pull to the side of the road. "Alright, we're setting up camp here for the night," Bulma said as she looked at us.

I nodded and jumped off her bike and began to stretch a bit. My muscles were starting to get stiff from just riding with Bulma. Yeah, I should definitely just start carrying Bulma or at the very least start running with Goku. I watched as Bulma threw a small capsule and it exploded into the large building that we had been staying in every night. Bulma then stretched as she began to walk into it with me and Goku following behind her shortly afterward.

We all went through our nightly routines, and just as we were about to sleep for the night I walked into Bulma's room. "Hey," I said softly not wanting to disturb her too much. When I did she looked at me. "Mind if we talk?" I asked as I looked at her.

"Oh, uh yeah sure come on in," She said as she looked at me. I nodded hearing this and walked up to her bed taking a seat at the foot while she rested at the head.

"So when we gather all these dragon balls, how do you plan on summoning this dragon?" I asked as I looked at her.

"Oh, well uh from what I understand I just ask Shenron to wake up and grant me my wish," She said as she looked at us.

"Right, and this process it's not going to destroy the dragon balls is it?" I asked as I looked at her. I'm sure it would hurt Goku if the time came for the wish to finally be granted, and us to return home only for us to return without our 'grandpa'.

"No, it shouldn't. Then again-" She said as she looked down. "I couldn't really find any reports on this sort of thing. Not many people believe in magical balls that grant wishes," Bulma admitted as she looked at me. So in other words the possibility was there.

"Alright, well is anyone else looking for them?" I asked as I looked at Bulma.

"Wh-what?" She asked as she looked at me.

"Is anyone else looking for them? I mean if they're legit, and they actually do grant wishes and they're not just some fairy tale. Then there's got to be other people looking for them to right?" I asked as I looked at her causing her to look down.

"Y-yeah, I guess so," She said as she looked down. It seems like she hadn't thought of that possibility until now.

"So what do you want to do? You know if we encounter someone?" I asked as I looked at her. Defeating anyone else that was looking for the dragon balls should be easy enough for me and Goku. But I don't know if that's what she would want. Then again given that her first instinct is to try and shoot people I don't think she'd have much of a hang-up trying to fight whoever was looking for these balls as well.

"And if you don't mind me asking, what are you going to wish for?" I asked as I looked at her. When I asked this she seemed to tense up as she looked at me.

"You know it's rude to ask something like that without warning. What would you wish for if you had the chance?" She asked as she looked at me.

"I don't know," I said with little to no hesitation as I looked at the female in front of me. "I've never really thought about what I would do with a wish. I usually don't buy into stories like magical wish-granting balls," I said as I began to look up. It didn't take me long to decide what I would do. The first thing is that I would wish to put that tyrant that destroyed my planet in his place. The thought of that prideful, arrogant, monster being put in his place begging for mercy. That really did bring a smile to my face.

I then sighed, doing that though, would mean I would have to tell Goku the truth about who we are and where we came from. I'll do it eventually just not right now. "I guess I would just wish for my brother to be safe," I said as I looked at Bulma.

"Really? That's it?" Bulma asked as she looked at me and I shrugged.

"It's the only thing I need," I said with a sigh. "It's not like I'm going to be around to take care of him forever, as much as I would like to. There's going to be a point where he needs to be his own man. He'll walk his own path, and decide things for himself. And when that time comes . . . he won't have me," I said with a sigh as I leaned back against the wall.

"You really care about him don't you?" Bulma asked as she looked at me and I nodded.

"Of course I do, why wouldn't I? It's my job to make sure he's ready for the world. I'd like to think I've done a good job at raising him but . . . I don't know. It's just . . . sometimes it would be so much easier if mom and dad were here to show me what to do," I said with a sigh.

"Mom and dad huh?" Bulma asked as she looked at me and I tensed up realizing my mistake.

"Y-yeah," I admitted as I looked down. Bulma then moved closer to me and smiled.

"Want to talk about it?" She asked as she looked at me and I smiled slightly.

"Yeah," I said as I looked at her. "I try not to talk about them around Goku. All he's ever known was our grandpa, so do me a favor and don't mention this to him," I said as I looked at her causing her to nod in understanding. "Dad was . . . he was so smart," I said as I thought back to him. "He would talk about stuff I could barely comprehend. And Mom was . . . well she was a mom. She was warm when she wanted to be, and dangerous the rest of the time," I said with a smile.

I think shook my head trying to get my mind off the subject. "Anyway, enough of the sad stuff. What about you? What are you going to wish for?" I asked as I looked at Bulma.

"I'm going to wish for a boyfriend!" Bulma said without hesitation. She must have thought about this a lot considering she didn't need to think about it. But even so, her answer just confused me.

"You're . . . joking right?" I asked as I looked at her.

"Nope, the dragon will grant me not just any boyfriend. But the perfect boyfriend! Someone strong, smart, cute, and knows how to treat me right!" Bulma said as she looked at me.

"That's . . . stupid," I said as I looked at her. When I said this she hit the back of my head and turned away clearly upset with my answer.

"And what's so stupid about wanting someone special in your life?" Bulma asked as she looked at me.

"It's stupid because you could get it any time you want it," I said as I looked at her. When I said this she turned to look at me. "I'm not sure if you've got low self-esteem, or if you're just afraid of having your heart broken to make you think you need a magic dragon to get you a boyfriend, but trust me when I say you don't need it," I said as I looked at her.

"You really think so?" She asked as she looked at me and I sighed.

"Yeah, I mean you're beautiful, smart, more than capable of taking care of yourself, you've got an amazing personality, and you're like one of the richest people on the planet. Trust me when I say you could have a boyfriend the moment you wanted it," I said as I looked at her causing her to blush as she looked at me. Back home she'd have suitors throwing themselves at her left and right.

"You really like my personality?" Bulma asked as she looked at me.

"Yeah? Why?" I answered a bit confused as I looked at her.

"It's just most boys don't seem to like the way I act. They call me annoying or bossy," She said as she looked at me.

"Yeah?" I asked a bit confused. Do earthlings have a different standard for what's considered attractive?

"So agree with them?!" She asked as she looked at me.

"Yeah but that's what makes you attractive," I said as I looked at her causing her face to turn a bright red. "I don't know about annoying, you can be a bit of a handful at times, but where's the fun in someone who doesn't challenge you. I guess I can understand other guys not wanting a strong-willed woman, but I won't lie I don't mind. I kind of like the way you bristle me," I said as I looked at her.

When I said this her face once again turned a bright red. At the very least it was nice to know that she was enjoying my compliments. "You really think so?" Bulma asked as she looked at me, and I nodded as I looked at her.

"Yeah, honestly, I'm a bit surprised that someone hasn't already tried to sweep you off your feet," I said as I looked at her. When I said this she looked down her face still a bright red. "Then again maybe I should toss my hat in the ring," I said as I looked at her.

When I did her face turned a bright red as she looked at me. "Wh-what?!" She asked as she looked at me.

"You heard me, what do you say to a date?" I asked as I looked at her. She just stared at me clearly embarrassed as I looked at her. She then looked at the ground fidgeting in place a bit. She really was capable of being cute when she wanted to be.

"O-okay," She said as she looked at me. While I didn't show it I could feel my heart soaring at the thought, and I found my energy suddenly exploding as well. I might need to go work out just to burn off some of this excess energy.

"Alright, but let's lay down some ground rules, first off no more showing your 'panties' to other guys," I said as I looked at her causing her to once again hit me.
