My little sister just came out as non-binary, but I'm slightly concerned because they're only 9, but I guess I'll find out when they're older because they legit were super nervous to tell me and asked if they can call themselves non binary and I said, "yeah??" And they were super relieved and I had to explain it to them when they asked if they can call themselves non-binary even with/without gender and again, I said "yeah??" Like super confused, but then they said that they're gonna be calling themselves non-binary and I was like, "cool" and I encouraged them to tell they're classmates at school, but they said they were embarrassed because Val doesn't wanna be called the wrong pronouns, but they're too embarrassed to speak up about it.

I'm so proud of them, but at the same time, I'm like, are they too young to understand it yet that they might change their mind when they're older????
