At that moment I shut the car radio off. I was still sick to my stomach and I didn't want to think about it anymore. "We will pick up enough food for the next week or so, we should get gallons of water and candles and stuff like that. The last thing we need is to have our lives become a horror movie."

Jake chuckled, "What do you mean become? Isn't our life a living hell?"

Jordan threw her hands across me and yelled, "Don't you worry babe, I'll protect you."

I laughed and with one hand I threw my head back in response. "Oh Jordan! You're my hero!"

All three of us bursted into laughter and the small gambling town of Cripple Creek came into view. As we drove into town, nothing was different. People were still shopping, stores were still open and everything was normal again. I pulled into the parking lot and we all headed off in different directions. About thirty minutes later, we all met at the front with full carts.

"Wow, that's a lot of food for three people." The lady who was ringing us up said.

"Oh there is three more. They are back at our house. We live in the valley." I said and handed her my credit card.

Once the car was loaded up we drove down the street. I made a sharp left turn and drove down a small street.

"Theresa, where the hell are we going?" Jake asked worriedly.

"I want to see if my hunting gear is still in my hunting locker. I have a few guns and my bow." I spoke as I turned into a small dirt lot. I would hunt with my grandfather when I was little. I had worked in the store when I was a teenager and I would stay with my grandparents during the summer. No one was around but I had kept a spare key in the glove compartment. We walked into the store and I flipped the light switch on. That's when Jake fell to the floor.
