We were just a car full of young adults with massive energy drink rushes, singing along with Fall out Boys new single when we were interrupted by a public safety announcement. 

*BEEEEEP*

*BEEP*

*BEEP*

As the radio continued to play, our car stayed quiet. We exchanged confused looks and Jake was the first to break the silence. 

"Sounds like another group of idiots on bath salts again." Jake said chuckling.

That seemed to break the tension enough that we were able to go back to singing as loud but not as enthusiastic as before. I don't think any of us actually believed it at first. I mean, zombies? You only ever read about them in books or saw them in movies or on T.V., but in real life? That wasn't possible... right? Then the rain picked up. I was driving and the road conditions were getting worse. 

"Theresa love, are you ok? You seem distracted. The roads are bad; do you need me to take over?" My girlfriend Jordan who was seated next to me set her hand on my leg witch helped snap me out of the idea of the un-dead roaming around. 

I shake my head and respond, "No I'm fine. Just a bit shook up... I can't imagine zombies here. I mean I would expect this to happen in like, New York or Los Angeles... but in Denver?"

She chuckled and looked at me; she has the most beautiful blue eyes. Then I hit it. It all happened in an instant. It went flying and I slammed on the brakes. 

I couldn't tell if it was an animal or human. Whatever it was, it was huge. We have large wildlife in Colorado so I wasn't prepared for the reality of what had really happened.
