Plot: Oh boy, another day, another time with Zay. Zay was your middle school crush. He WAS. Riley and Maya knew about it obviously. They were your best friends. Then they told Lucas and Farkle because why not? They won't tell. WRONG! They did. What'd they do? They told, that's what they did. Ever since then it hasn't been the same. You lost your connection with Riley and Maya, didn't hang out with them anymore and the worst part, you forgot about Zay and your feelings for him. Or so you thought...

You walked into school and sighed. You really hated going to school. Not because of the studies, no, because of the people. The people with the names of Riley, Maya, Lucas, Farkle and Zay to be exact. Ever since Riley and Maya betrayed your trust about your crush you had on Zay its never been the same.

"I don't know, Maya. Today feels different." "How?" Maya asked her as they walked into the classroom. They looked in front of them and saw a familiar friend sitting at a desk waiting for class to start. "That's how." Riley said referring to you. You heard Riley and looked up from your desk. You rolled your eyes.

"I didn't know you went to Abigail Adams, (Y/n)." Riley said sitting at her desk right besides yours. You deep sighed. "I always have." "Since when?" Maya asked sitting at her desk as well. "Since the first day, duh." You said rudely. Riley and Maya were taken back on how you were acting.

When you guys were still friends you were always happy and upbeat. Keeping them in the positive mood. Always cracking jokes, asking when was lunch as soon as you walked into school. Sure, you were shy and quiet but when something happened to a loved one you were ready to fight.

Maybe that's you liked Zay so much. You were basically the same person. Always trying to help a friend in need, lightning up the mood with your jokes. The only thing that was different about you guys was that you were a little more reserved but you and Zay clicked immediately.

Startling Riley and Maya out of their thoughts the bell rang and students started flooding in along with Cory.

Thus, a lesson was born.

A group lesson.

You were sitting in Topanga's with the gang. Your ex-friends. Well, frenemies. You didn't want to call them your friends, and you definitely weren't enemies. So why can't you call them acquaintances? You thought. Your face softened. You didn't really know why you called them your ex-friends.

"Hey, (Y/n)?" Lucas asked you. You shook your head out of your thoughts. You raised your brow. "Uh yeah?" "Do you have an idea on the project?" He asked you. "Uh, no. Why would I have an idea. I just sit back and let you guys do the work." You said crossing your arms. "That's how it was before." You mumbled. "Well that's not gonna happen anymore. Right guys?" Zay asked the group. You looked to your left.

You had no idea he was right next to you. Matter of fact, the whole walk here was a blur.

"How about we do a social project?" Maya asked. "What would it be called or be about?" Farkle asked her. "Can faded feelings come back?" Riley answered for her. You squinted your eyes at Riley and Maya. "I hate you." You mouthed. Maya shrugged as Riley smirked.

"Okay, I'm down. What about you guys?" Lucas asked. Everyone agreed but you.

"Oh come on, (Y/n). Why don't you agree?" Farkle asked. "When we still talked you'd be all over this right now." Zay said. "Well people change." You spat. They all looked at you with concern.

"Stop looking at me."

They put their hands in defense and stopped.

"No." A voice said. You turned to the voice.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me. No."

You scoffed.

"Do you know who I am?"

"Yes, I do. Your (Y/n) (L/n), a 16 year old who's scared of opening up to people about her feelings. Who puts up a wall and thinks that it protects you. Your a person who can't help but feel anger whenever you see us. You think Maya and Riley betrayed you. Why?" You growled.

"How do you know about that?"

"Because I know you."

"No, you don't." You said. "Do you know why I think that?" You asked him. Zay shrugged. "No not really." You turned to Lucas, Farkle, Riley and Maya. "You didn't tell him?" "Why would we tell him?" Riley asked. "Because you told Farkle and Lucas." "Because we thought that would help you." Riley replied.

"But instead I just assumed that you told them because you hated me." You admitted. "Why would we hate you?" Lucas asked. "Because, I don't know. I just thought you were going to tease me about it." "Tease you about what?" Zay asked. You cursed under your breath.

"Nothing."

"Come on, (Y/n). Don't start renewed relationships with lies." Farkle said. You looked at him and squinted your eyes. He gave you and cheeky smirk. You rolled your eyes and turned to Zay and looked down. "I used to have a--" You cleared your throat. "Crush on you." He smiled. "Do you still have one on me now?" You looked into his brown eyes and blushed slightly.

"No--yes--no, I don't know anymore."

"You know." Riley said. You sighed. "Okay fine, I do but, I know you like Vanessa(or random girl name if your name is Vanessa.)." You looked at your phone. "I gotta go, see ya later." You said with hurt in your voice.

You were on the verge of tears. All these memories of laughter and joy you had with him are starting to flood in. You didn't want them to. Every time you think of those memories it brings you back to Texas when you met her or all those times he told stories about her. You ran back home and threw your homework on the couch and fled up to your room.
